Where I live, you'll be INSIDE it a good part of the time. That might make you nuts. They tend to feel real narrow. I could see a small bus/shuttle, tho. I could forgo the oven, as long as I have a burner, decent sink, decent shower and a micro. I saw one w a Murphy bed, loved that idea. Not sure I'd like feeling the lines of a convert sofa setup. I also want lots of windows and access to the back doors from the bed easily. And a skylight. I never get to see the stars (ugly light pollution). So I want to see them from bed. And see the sunrise from my pillow. Too. I hate a 450k bus and you're surrounded by hideously ugly, cheap cabinets from bed.
I wish I was ready to go! I have dogs that hate the road, and a parrot I will need to rehome first. I won't be ready to go until I am probably close to 70! I am learning a lot and working to keep myself in good shape so I can enjoy my future travels!

Thank you for sharing and looking forward to seeing your next adventure in life 💕 God Bless all you ladies 😇 #StaySafe
This is so great! I myself have been traveling now 4 years in my 25 foot class A winnebago warrior named Xena with my little dog named Tinkerbell filming where I go and what I see. I m 60 years old turning 61 in May. So many beautiful and great woman!
The idea of traveling all around the states in a van is in my bucket list. Right now I live in Puerto Rico and recently bought a 30 feet motorhome and I’m in the long process of renovating it. Over here van life is very different from the states. Since we live in a small island van life is mainly during the weekends and vacation. But as soon as I retire I will leave to my kids and move to the states to travel.
I absolutely love women meetups. It was the best thing this past winter. Went to Debra Dickenson’s and MinnieVanLee’s meetup and met the best women there. Can’t wait to get back out and meet some more.

Welcome to the Butterfly Tribe 🦋, Baha Queen. We're having a meet-up at that same location if you're interested. Not many spots left. Here are the details of the ButterflyTracks meetup: The total cost is $20 for 3 nights and can be sent by Zelle or PayPal to jcprivett@aol.com. Also, Please email me at jcprivett@aol.com and include your full name and cell number so I can confirm receipt. I'll reply with my cellphone number so we can stay in touch. The meet-up is November 6, 7, 8 at a group campsite in Ocala National Forest. Everyone is invited but Women Only. Space is LIMITED so anything from a class B van to a tent is OK. The private site has 2 hot showers, 2 flush toilets, picnic tables, a big Pavillion, barbecue grills and it's on the shore of Fore Lake near Silver Springs. Video about the meet-up there last March. ua-cam.com/video/Wx7Ds9pJ-bc/v-deo.html

Love this! I am 66. I have a Class A (Winnebago 33V) that I have put nearly 40K solo miles on in almost 16 years: everything from an overnight getaway up to 7 month trips. In the last 2 years I have been looking at vans. And actually I started my rv search 17 years ago looking at RoadTrek. At any rate, I’m thinking to sell the Motorhome and the Jeep I tow … trading for a van. I work from home (always, not just COVID) as a software developer. My little cabin-ranch is on 8 acres in NW Montana and I lean towards hermit. I’m thinking short trips in the northwest U.S. - personal weather and terrain preference :). All to say, LOVED seeing women of my vintage, from all different backgrounds and rigs … gathering, learning, laughing. I hope to join the group and maybe a NW meet up sometime!
Hi Liz. 👋 I could learn so much from you. What a great life. Lots of nomads downsize for mobility and simplicity. Senior Women Van Lovers is nationwide and there are lots of other groups. You could team up with someone and organize a meet-up.
Where do youse put these things? Where I live, that's a huge issue. You don't want it to rot outside. You can get a RV for a song (sometimes they run well, don't smell like mold and not rotted out) but smaller vans are very expensive and won't fit in a garage. It would be between a Transit Connect, the Nissan and an old Astro or VW from the 80s, assuming you can even FIND one, much less nice looking and runs right. Astro would be easiest to find. And cheapest.
I love this! I’m a senior too. I’m hooked on these diy camper videos. I’ve started buying the things I’ll need for my suv. How wonderful to get together like this.
I was delighted to see your video populate in my UA-cam list, and to find out about this group of like-minded, senior women van lovers! I continue to need 'nudges' to create this reality for myself, and seeing these interviews and van tours was very inspiring, and encouraging. I might have to join that Facebook group that someone mentioned -- for more encouragement. Thanks so much for doing this departure from your usual. I'll subscribe so I can hopefully see the video(s) of your upcoming, self-built minivan tour! Cheers 😉🌻🌟🕊
Why not start out in nice weather with a fan, air matt, a warm blanket (where I live, you literally never know what you'll get) and go from there...? Then you'll see what you need and where you want it to be. I went to the RV show and took my shoes off and hopped in ALL the showers. Mimicking all the movements I'd be doing to get around. Lying on all the beds and such. For that kind of money, you need to know where you're at. I wouldn't buy a fairly cheap car not knowing these things. New big sleeper Transits are not cheap.
Thankyou for this vid, I'm in Australia and have a Volkswagen crafter duel cab with a jayco back which my da brought me in 2018 for giving up my home, possessions and 2 dogs whome have wonderful new homes to full time care for mum whome had full alzimers. I now have dad 95 and his old 18 year peach poodle with dementia and cushings disease full time care. Dad got kicked out of his home by my brother. Karma will effect him. So dad is with me and has first stages dementia and parkinson so full on. Travelled from Western Australia to Weipa in Queensland to have help as getting so drained without a break for 5 years. My son and family are so good and have taken a huge weight of my shoulders witch I'm grateful for.
Oh Rosemary, I can relate to your story. My Dad, Step-dad and Mother-in-law all died of dementia complications. You can get through this. You stay healthy and work on your rig to be ready when it's your turn. I have another video going up tomorrow anout my van build that may be helpful to you.
@@ButterflyTracks I love it. I am getting closer. I am currently going through a divorce and hope to buy a minivan or smaller B van. The hardest part for me is figuring out a travel plan. I will be on a budget so parks won’t always work. Plus I would like to be more spontaneous. If I like a place and want to explore it more I don’t want a reservation to keep me bound. I also am not sure I would sleep well boondocking at Walmarts or public land. So many things to work through. 😊

Kudos to all the women here who have decided to make a change in their lives. I am 66, working part time from home and getting tired of the expense of being a home owner. Basically, you're married to the house. I love to travel. So much to see and enjoy in life that one does not have to be confined. I think this is what keeps people alive - moving around and being happy. Perhaps you can find a travel buddy. Women alone, I would be extremely cautious. Love your videos and I wish you safety and forever happiness!

I want to attend! I've been a banner since before it was a thing.
I give these women mad props for going out there and doing it alone and then having this wonderful meet up is just fantastic for yalls. Good luck to all these courageous women!

Oh my goodness! Thank you so very much for posting this excellent video from the recent meetup! I knew that I was not the ONLY ONE who enjoys camping out of my van! I look forward to watching more!
Hi Rosaling! There are many of us "out there" and many more that dream of it. Thank you for watching.
I think you're my soulmate. (I'm straight). 1st the Redwoord Forest, then quoting the Natives I've been obsessed with since memory. I teared up over the line "when man lives away from nature, their heart becomes hard." Hope to meet you one day. Thanks for sharing!!❤️
Hey, Julie. It's great meet another fan of poetry and deep meaning. I want to have meetups in several states this year as I travel.
What an awesome meet up!! I look forward to my van life someday soon!!
Hi Liz. Soon, that sounds good. Let me know if you have any questions. 😊

Although I’m not blessed to be a senior yet but still middle aged, I think this is So wonderful for us as women to have an outlet and a safety net of comfort when traveling and meeting up amongst each other!

@@debscreepy I'd like to do a meet-up some day.
Amazing! I’m glad to see women nearly as old as I am! Even more reason to get a van and get going
Hi Christine. 👋 You could start slow and experiment in short trips.
Hi Lorrie. 👋 You have the desire and a plan. Keep working toward it and stay healthy. 👍
Hi Lorrie. I’m praying for you and everyone in Puerto Rico after the hurricane. I’m so sorry what’s happened there. I hope you’re safe.
I absolutely love women meetups. It was the best thing this past winter. Went to Debra Dickenson’s and MinnieVanLee’s meetup and met the best women there. Can’t wait to get back out and meet some more.
Hi Cheryl 👋 You are so right. I've met so many great ladies on the road. People think they all have youtube channels but they are just out there living a full life.
Loved seeing this video. I’m in the U.K. but this group looks so nice it’s a shame the ocean separates us.
That's so true, but we do have technology to keep us connected.
I’m in UK ( well Sydney atm) just found a lovely group predominantly ladies in the South West called ‘Be Kind’ May see you for a cuppa xx
You ladies are inspirational and I love everything about this video. Xx I’m in UK mostly and ladies are starting to get together more and more. Love it. 🥰
May 5 I’m sitting out solo for the first time in this video really made me feel so much better about doing it. Thank you so much.
Hi Mary. 👋 Be prepared and you will go with confidence.
This is so uplifting to watch and listen to the women and how happy they are. Unfortunately I am not a FB person...this is awesome. Have a great time ladies
Hi Wanda. 👋 Thank you for watching.
Great video❗️
Thank you, SpiritWind Vue! 😊
Hello 🌸 I live in S. FL and to watch the minivan tours had me in tears. Although I plan to have a vehicle to stand up in, I’ve been in my minivan since 2019. It was delightful to see the van builds, quite contrary to the elaborate builds and I much appreciate you taking the time to share this special moment with other solo female dwellers 🌸💗🌸 subscribed!!!

Great American women and inspiring to all women around the world. Hello from Dublin Ireland 💚💚💚
Hi Angela. 8 So nice of you to say. Thanks for watching.
Your videos are just getting better all the time. I love each one. I so wish I had been with all of you beautiful ladies. I haven't even made my maiden voyage yet. I do have everything ready and set to go, except finishing up my reflectix, I could use them as they are though. Next meet up I find out about, I will be headed that way!
Thank you, Joanne. 😊 Sounds like you're ready to launch. 👍
As an introverted traveler, this is exactly why I do part-time Van Life in my Roatrek Zion RV---while teaching online. Love my hubby, but it's my home away from home when I solo travel 🧡 or want to meet up with other ladies to camp with.
Sounds like you have a good balance for your life. We're having a women's camping meet-up in November at that same Florida campground. Let me know if your interested. Just 3 spots left. 😊
Great video. Really enjoyed seeing the van tours and hearing about these wonderful ladies experiences. Wonderful that so many are first timers trying this out.

Love this!
You ladies areamazing! Enjoy! Jane in SC.
Thank you. 😊
wowwow wow ten times over!!!
Hey there, Tiki Tiki. 👋 Thanks for watching.
This looks like such a neat idea . I will be checking the Facebook group out . Glad there's something out here for us senior gals.
Hi Kelly 👋 It's a great group of ladies. Thanks for watching.
I love this! I’m a senior too. I’m hooked on these diy camper videos. I’ve started buying the things I’ll need for my suv. How wonderful to get together like this.
Hi Lisa. 👋 There were SUVs there too. They have the advantage of higher clearance over my minivan.
Cheers 😉🌻🌟🕊
Hi Living it up. Thank you for subscribing! I'll be doing the van build in sections so I can go into more detail and still show my travel tips.
I too need a nudge or to to get out and going!
I loved the idea of the cabinet made of slatted doors.
Hi, Back Road Gypsy. 👋 I That was really creative.
I will be there next year! Each one of these ladies is so amazing.
A great thing ladies. Congrats.
Hi Dave. 👋 Thanks for watching.
Omgoodness I love this. I have been van traveling stalking for 4 years and so badly want to travel with other ladies. 😍
Hi Wendy. 👋 I did that for years too and look at me now. 😃
@@wendyfilice7101 You sound just like me budget wise. I'm working through some of your issues myself so keep watching to see what works and what doesn't. 🤔
I am so happy to find a group of mature ladies van camping. I’ve been exploring vanlife for the past year. Yet due to medical issues not sure about doing it full time. Always considering following the warm sun! Looking forward to attending a gathering when possible. ❤️✌🏼😊🤙🏼
Hi Sandra. I hope your health improves so you can join us down the road.
@@janetprivett6117 I just made my final repair payment to my mechanic. Next month I can afford to get plates and tabs for it. I’ll be clearing the seats, insulating the floor then placing plywood on it. My cat and I will head to WA state to gather the last bit of our things. Then home to Utah and doing minor builds. Most important the bed. We may take a few days trips to get the feel of the van. I am so excited to be on the road! I’ll stay connected. 😊Thank you!
Are there any ladies in Utah or the west? I am planning to get to the WRTR as well as the RTR in Arizona January 2023, God willing. 😊
Sandra, I'm in Colorado and also have medical issues, but they don't slow me down much. I've camped, rafted, sledded & ridden a horse with O2 & a broken hip. Be encouraged! I'd also love to make the WRTR & RTR next year. I love Utah! It's one of my favorite places. Best to you 💙🤟🙏

Hi Madeline 👋 I bet you're awesome too. 🙂
Very nice tours.
Hi Jane's Dough. 👋 I look at beautiful house wonder what kind of gas mileage it gets 😃 and i see work and expense. I Most of the time fear is a choice and and there are ways to stay safe.
