I forgot to mention last night that you need to add alcohol periodically to the paint can “campfire” and that the higher the alcohol % is the better, so 91% rubbing alcohol will produce a better and hotter flame than 75% rubbing alcohol.
Ok I am a Male , But I found these ladies ideas interesting. I will share something that most ladies might already know. I go fishing lots around different water ways and sometimes you run into what they call sand nats. They are almost to small to see,but they will set your skin on fire. What I carry in my fishing bag is a bottle of skin so soft made by avon. Stuff is good for your skin,it smells good and it really does work.
I just discovered you ladies, and I’m joining. I have an F150 pick up truck for the last 20 years, but at 75 I decided to now get a small Ford connect and turn that into a mini RV., I look forward to joining up with you ladies and sitting around the paint can 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💞

I worked as a campground host, and dogs pretty regularly got away from the owners. We would have to drive around the campground asking everyone if it was their dog, so putting a sticker on the dog tag with your campsite number is brilliant! We also had a lost dog hanging around just outside the camp ground who was not owned by anyone in the campground. It was 3 months before we could catch him. When we finally did the phone number on the chip, and tag was no longer in service. Also, if you have poor cell service or none, be sure to move where you do so you can receive a call.
Watching these videos and seeing so many solo women doing what I’ve always wanted to do makes me believe I can do this unafraid. My husband and I have always planned this, even before it was a thing. We both agree that in the event one of us faces the loss of the other before we do it together, we shall of course grieve but shall move forward with joy. We come this way but once.
These are really great ideas. I went right to Amazon and ordered the mouse repellent. When I was a kid and we went to the drive in movies they gave the mosquito coils out in the summer to each car. As children we loved sitting outside the car to watch the movie 😊
Oh My Goodness !!! My mink is blown from the paint can campfire tip. I've always wanted to buy a 'Solo Stove' but never did because they're pricey. Thanks so very Peggy !!! And thanks so much Jan for sharing these tips & videos. Awesome job !!!

Thank you, Denise. 😊 Maybe Cindy can give you some ideas. She travels fulltime with 3 cats. Here's her van tour: ua-cam.com/video/WZgV0sPSEBY/v-deo.html
@Denise Hi Denise! I’m 65, currently living in my camper van since last February, but stationary while I work to finish the build. Hope to be on the road by April. My CamperVan is very small. But I started out with 3 kitties (cats). My sweet Daisy passed last July due to lung masses. She was around 10. I still have Coco who is 9 and Canyon, who just turned 18! I had planned to break them into the travel part gently. I started with running the motor quite a bit to let them get used to it. However, when hurricane Ian decided to come our way, we quickly hopped in the camper and headed in the opposite direction. As the hurricane kept moving, so did we. They had about a week of traveling around. They responded very well. Of course, as we all know, each cat has its own individual personality. But it actually would be better in most cases to get them acclimated while they are younger. I don’t know how old you are, but if yours are only two years old, you may have a long wait before you are able to travel. Canyon does take gabapentin per the vet as needed but this is because she’s always been high strung. It also helps her neurotic scratching. This is nothing new she’s always scratched and groomed excessively. Plus she doesn’t much like Coco. She didn’t like Daisy either. I raised Canyon from three days old, so she thinks it should only be me and her. Not trying to tell you what to do. I just wanted to share my experience, and let you know that it can be done. In my case, I Kinda needed to move in to a small place quickly and no way could I leave my babies behind.
I loved the tip about using powder on your feet. I never used "baby powder" on my baby, my pediatrician said to use corn powder. Its safer and food grade.
This was great information. I've been living full-time in my minivan for 2 years. I got several great ideas from this video. Thank you for sharing. I do find myself wondering how many of these beautiful ladies are minivan gals & how many are full time. I've never had the opportunity to go to a van meet-up as I do not know how to find them. Great video, thank you.

This was fantastic! I have used the bug sprayer for showers but did not know about the water hose attachment! Love that idea! My next trip to the hardware store!😊
@@Karen-qx7jw I got the bug sprayer at Tractor Supply and I’m sure you can get the garden hose attachment there also. I have long hair and the bug sprayer has a fine mist but I still grit it clean with that but the garden hose nozzle will work faster for me😄
My advice is an old laundry bottle with the spigot. Rinse out the soap then fill with water for washing your hands. Especially if your outside or dont have a water tap with a sink
You are right that a USB powered shower uses a lot of water due to no shut off valve. My cure is to drop the shower head into the bucket when not in my hand; and that way, I only use what I need in water.
I love this video so much! I’m always watching all the youngins channels and although I love a lot of their tips and advice, what I need the most are cheap, practical, simple, and most of all honest tips and tricks. I loved these tips there were some great ideas that I am definitely going to be using i'm so glad to see women my age sharing ideas and helpful tips for living the nomad life. I use a French press when I travel And instead of rinsing it out I wipe it out with a paper towel. It can make your hand a little bit messy if you're not careful but you can but you can get most of the grounds out with one paper towel toss them into the trash and then wipe it out with a second one and you avoid using any water it's really easy and convenient.
I prop a $9 reusable filter in my cup and do a pourover. To clean, knock out the grounds, let it dry and knock again to get the remaining grounds. Same as the pourover coffee you can order and pay a lot for in a coffee shop. I make it this way at home too.
I use a pour over coffee pot everyday. My mom always used one too. They dont burn your coffee like some coffee makers do. I love all the ladies sharing. Im not on the road but hopefully in the next couple of years.
Hi I've been traveling in a vans, in boats pretty much anything I can find to travel in. The best thing I use to keep warm is salt lamps they only draw 20 watts and they become very warm. I like to put them by my heater while I'm driving so that they're warm up. then I put the lamp inside them and turn them on. They will warm up quite nicely by themselves also. It's the best...
Hi gals! Just an extra tip on keeping poo smell contained, the one lady had mentioned the Amazon bags to put it in, my dad saves potato chip bags, the are made to keep chips fresh but they are also useful When empty to put things in that you don’t want the smell to come out, like poo or old food Hope this is a help Susie in Michigan
I make smaller alcohol burners using soup cans filled with dollar tree cotton balls or sand, they work well for small spaces or hang them as lighting. I also make more decorative table top fires using stuff found at thrift stores.. I have several videos on them...

You ladies rock!! Wow! I am soon to be in a truck camper after being displaced in hurricane Ian. As soon as I saw this video I quickly made a Facebook profile and asked to join the group as “Sue Bee.” I hope to become part of your group and actually meet you when you get together! Thank you so much for posting this video with all the wonderful tips. I am definitely going to be using them. 😃
Hi Suebee. 👋 Uh oh, new accounts throw up a red flag. You might have been rejected. But - Now that I know a little more about you, please go back and reapply for the Facebook group and I'll approve. 😊👍
Your Facebook page is making a couple of ladies nervous since there is no information about you and the account was just opened. Could you put a little about yourself there and introduce yourself to the Facebook group. They'd like to get to know you. 🙂
@@ButterflyTracks I will try. I’m having to move after hurricane Ian and that means building a truck cap to live in which is taking every minute of the day. I am also helping my roommate move her things to a storage unit. When I get a chance I will, I promise.
I have a rechargeable fan that looks like headphones. You wear it on your neck and it blows air at you. High medium and low. It has a percentage to tell you how much you have left for time. On high it obviously makes it die quicker. They make some that have holes all through the neck area and some that have 2 tiny fans on each side
So sad I wasn't there! I even figured out a show and tell. I will save it. I have to finish reflectix and I will be ready to roll. I will be looking for a meet up within 5-6 hours drive from me. I am in north central Texas.

You can control the size of the flame by putting stones on the top as many as are needed until 5he flame is as big as you want.
Nice tip, Jill. 👍 Thank you. 😊
I use the gutter cover window vents. Dryer vent lint for fire starter too.
Hi R Lee. 😊 The simple little things do make a difference.
What a great collection of ideas. Looks like it would be so much fun traveling with you all.
Wishing you the best. Thanks for posting all these tips!❤️
Some nice tips. I doubt I'll ever get to be a vandweller/nomad, but I love watching all these cool tips because I can use some of them in my own life.
Would be great if one of you ladies could run for President, please?!😂 Such great ideas!
You know they would balance the budget and no school kids would ever go hungry again if they ran the country!

@@ButterflyTracks sorry don't do Facebook anymore. 😑
@@ButterflyTracks I will. Thank you!!
Smart Campers . well done Ladies ! 👍🏼
This is a prime example of quality content. A book I read recently was of similar excellence. "Adapting with Aging" by James Crescent
Thank you, Jack. I'll look that up. 😎👍
I am just beginning to think about outfitting a van and this video has been great! Thank you for putting it together.
Glad it was helpful! 💙🦋💙
I paused this cause I just am so excited to know about the empty paint can fire stove!!! Great Tip!!!
🙂👍
TWO thumbs Up!! for the great ideas and beautiful ladies--so wish I were healthier so I could be one of you wonderul laies
You are very welcome to be a virtual passenger. 🤗
Those look like a great idea! 😊

So sad I wasn't there! I even figured out a show and tell. I will save it. I have to finish reflectix and I will be ready to roll. I will be looking for a meet up within 5-6 hours drive from me. I am in north central Texas.
Hi Joanne. 👋 Wish you were there. Maybe we can put together a meetup in your area next year. 🙂
New news (haha) of Weathertech doggie window/door cover! You always learn something when people share their tips. Thanks to everyone in the video for participating in the show and tell. :)
Thanks, Amy. 😊

OMG! All these ladies are so cute and share suck good tips and tricks! Although, I would not use thermacell inside the van. It is toxic so for outdoor use only or wide OpenOffice doors at least. ❤️

Great idea to share tips, tricks and gadgets with other ladies. It would be great if you could list the brands or the links where the items came from. Thank you. I love the paint can fire idea!! I live in a small townhouse and that might be a great idea for my “tiny” fire pit on my patio! Prayers for safety to you all van ladies. ❤🙏🏻
I found all the items I could and put the links in the description. ua-cam.com/video/9HXNsjM7h5k/v-deo.html
Thank you lovely ladies so many great tricks of the trade and each one is one great idea after another can't wait to one day meet you all. Have a wonderful holiday
Also good for emergency heat in a smaller can with more controlled flame. I've used them.
Thanks, Jill. 😊
I like the bug sprayer shower idea! But I don't understand how to change the sprayer nozzle.
She had someone in the plumbing department help her find the fittings. Ace hardware. Home Depot, Lowes could advise.
Never saw anyone show gel pads (Amazon). I use them to keep things from sliding around. Very handy.
First time on this site. I love the ideas.
You girls are amazing....glad you all found each other.
Thank you Ladies for sharing your ideas & useful items for van life! Great video! 🤗👍See you on the next video 🙂✝️♥️✝️
