wow. just wow. That time-lapse is amazing.
Thanks Darren, funny how I actually prefer the one of people walking down than the final holy grail, even though it’s still cool, the other one just came out sooo good 😀
Once again another brilliant video Michael 👍🏾
stunning!
Thank you
stunning Michael and, as always, I enjoy a lot these kinds of vlogs from you
Thanks a million, glad you enjoyed the timelapses, I’m trying to get at least a video a week, some gear, some travel and some of these timelapse vlogs 😀👍🏻
Beautiful time lapse, good work.
Thanks a lot 😀
Gorgeous.
Thanks
Love this!!!!
Thanks Dom
Beautiful timelapse. I am wear a mouth mask when looking at your videos. Your enthusiasm is contagious 😅
Haha thanks a lot , so nice to hear that, I’d be really happy if I could spread my passion for timelapse virus to as many as I can 😁
Beautiful Timelapses mate! 😍
Cheers mate, it’s under funny how even I now like the 200mm one better in this video than the main holy grail which isn’t bad just nowhere near as cool as the 200mm one 😀
Hi! I'm your boi from youtube!
🤣
Always a pleasure Michael!!!
You should’ve said “waz happenin’” 😂always a pleasure to shoot with you too👍🏻😀
@@LondonViewpoints aaaaaaahhhh I'm not aware of all the new trends! 😅
👍🏻
@@fabienb haha me neither 😂
Epic work Michael! Now get home and wrap up! 😄
Thanks a lot Adam, so I did, and even helped myself to a warm drink with jsut one ice cube 😜
Nice spot👏👏👏
Thanks and yes, love the view from there, however it’s ideal at low tide, but this time we had high tide there
Thanks for the videos Michael, really nice. I'm wondering if you've tried to shoot your "P" mode holy grail in a truly dark sky location to go from daytime to complete darkness showing the stars with eventually a very high iso of perhaps 3200 or even 6400. I'm not sure the camera can meter so well in complete darkness but I'd be interested in your thoughts.
Thanks, tbh I haven’t however, I did once leave it with a too heavy nd filter on and it did ramp to iso 20k so I feel it would go to the required iso for starts, in some of my city P mode holy grails you can see some stars but obviously the metering was to not blow out the city lights too much
Holly macaroni!!! Colours and lapse look sikk Michael!! I wonder if I can use P mode on my Sony A7 iii now 🤔🤔
Thanks Shadzi, for something that came out completely off an automatic setting I’m quite happy with that. Best to just check if P mode works in the correct order by slowly pointing your camera from a very dark area to something as bright as a bulb and seeing the setting change, then if you can add the exposure smoothing option it should work 👍🏻
Hey Michael, Love your vids but have been knocking myself out trying time lapse in P mode with my Z6II. You refer to setting a MAXIMUM shutter speed with auto ISO (like for 6 secs for holy grail) ...I can not find anything in a menu that refers to a max shutter speed. I do see in the auto ISO drop-down a MINIMUM shutter speed. Could that be what you are referring to? If not, I'd appreciate a heads up in which menu you are finding this. Thanks so much again for your great work and informative videos. :)
Hi Fred, thanks, yes that’s exactly what I’m referring to, the term minimum is a bit counter intuitive as I see it as the max length of time the shutter will be open.
Hi Michael. Thanks for yet another inspiring video👍 I really liked the music at the end. It really fit the mood of the final timelapse. Which artist and song is it?😉
Thanks a lot, can’t remember of the top of my head, all my music is from Epidemic
@@LondonViewpoints Thx Michael. I'll try to find it. Just registered a user there myself :-)
Figured it out now :-) The artist is "Across The Great Valley" and the song is "Castles in the sky"
Which "Superclamp and Ball-Head" combo, do you use ? By the way, your Videos are Great, greeting from Germany!
Thank you , it’s a manfrotto heavy duty and just a basic no name head on it👍🏻
Great video. Amazing results with the Z6II doing automatic day to night. Just a pity that at the time of the initial firmware release, manual-ramping holy grail with the Z6II locks the exposure controls out so you can’t get as good result as you could with the Z6.
Thanks, you mean in P or Av mode you can’t adjust exposure compensation while time internal timelapse is going ? Can you please elaborate so I understand your problem better 👍🏻
@@LondonViewpoints In M mode (or Av with f), with a 3 second interval, the screen goes off and the controls are all locked out in interval mode. You can’t change the shutter speed and the camera is unresponsive until you stop the clip. Effectively no holy grail ability outside of automatic. Z6 under the same settings is responsive and will do it.
@@serenelapse5279 interesting and I’ve not tried it, but then if I ever want to shoot a manual holy grail I always use a dedicated external intervalometer and connect qdslr dashboard so I make changes over WiFi rather than bumping the camera each time I want to adjust setting that later you have to stabilize, so I would recommend you try your next manual timelapse this way👍🏻
@@LondonViewpoints It is worth trying as this is a function of the cameras and I find the Z6 is a stronger camera in that department. Thanks for the tip with wifi, but it looks like qdslr is no longer on iOS. Know of another? That would be great for my slider clips to have a remote settings change and I’m keen to look into it. With an external intervalometer however, that would impact the weather sealing and warranty potentially, which could be more dangerous than stabilising in post. Australia can be a harsh environment. Seems like in some situations it would be a benefit to use the internal functions. Which until a Z6II firmware update addresses it, unfortunately makes me pick up my Z6 instead for timelapse as I can rely on it to be more of an all-rounder. Thanks again for the tips, if you know of an app for iOS I will give it a try!
@@serenelapse5279 The iOS version of the app is called ControlMyCamera instead of qDSLRdashboard
if i do holy grail city cityscapes in auto P mode when it is dark everything is overexposed. have no idee why that is. and there are verry enoying speed changed in the timelaps so the timelaps is not usable . did you set interval priority ON or OF ? so overexposure is a problem and speed change in the timelaps .
Yes interval priority On, and I also limit the shutter speed by max I want in auto iso settings for double safety
If you shot that time lapse with the 15-30mm F4 then I'm keeping mine
That’s the lens I used, 14-30f4 👍🏻I love it
Quick question, when doing a auto holy grail if I want my camera to start at f22 on a bright day what should I set the iso sensitivity> minimum shutter speed to?
All depends what your interval will be, you go into auto iso menu and set the max shutter speed to be a second or more below your planned interval number and it from there all should work 👍🏻if in any doubt , check out my 3 part tutorial in the description
@@LondonViewpoints thank you 👍🏾
