"sun gazing" is a technique ive used for improved vision with succes. It involved staring at the sun as it was breaking the horizon in the morning. Hard to do here in michigan, but it is very helpful

Morning, specifically. You don’t get the same effect in the afternoon UVA window because your body is winding down for the day and expecting sleep to come soon.
