We’ve BEEN asking and you DELIVERT! Yes vernacular intended. I’m glad you figured out how to use the combo and enjoyed it. I tried a couple of months ago with the combo as my hair was in a much better condition since I started following the teachings of Iamblackgirlcurls however I personally liked Uncle Funky’s Curly Magic better and found it a more adorable choice as well as felt like it gave me more desirable finish with just one product. I also feel like o personally couldn’t get the product water ratio down and I got tired of trying tbh. Currently rocking more twist out puffs till my hair grows out more to try wash n gos again.
Love it! I have been using this system for a couple months now and I'm so glad I got the hang of it. Lasts for me 5 to 6 days now as my technique and hair condition has improved. The leave in definitely needs to be applied liberally. For anyone struggling with the products, Kinky Curly has more detailed application tips on their site that I found really helpful with the learning curve. Also I agree about the packaging being not shower friendly. I transferred the custard into an empty Curly Magic pump bottle. Best decision I ever made. It's now more easy to control how much custard I apply since I can count the pumps, which stops me from over applying and gives more consistent results week to week. Your finished look is gorgeous 😍
Ho wow never thought on transferring the custard in a another container like curly magic. This is a great idea. I took me a while to get the hang of it. So far it’s the best combo for me.
I’m one who highly anticipated this video lol and I really like the results! I’ve been wanting to revisit this combo since I didn’t give it a fair chance the first time round. ( didn’t properly know to use botanical gels)
I'm glad u gave it another go...looking good. This combo has been my styler of choice for years. I try other products from time 2 time and end up right back with these. I also shower style my wngs and I spray aloe vera juice on my hair after the leave in to give the clumping a head start. Afterwards I just use regular water since both products are water loving and aloe vera juice is not cheap.
I absolutely love both products one of my favorite combos. Yes both products work great together and water is needed to get it to work. I use both of those products with of products and I get great results. Love your results and this video.
Tried it a couple times, LOOVEED it made my curls pop without using the leave-in but I think I got an allergic reaction because my edges started itching and burning. Anywho, loved the video God bless 💕
If you try it again use a clarifying shampoo before using it. Either use the Come Clean shampoo from the line or another clarifying poo of your choice.
Your has to be really wet before you use it. I use the conditioner as a wash out and leave in , then the custard. But my hair is fine and soft . I do not put the custard on my roots only the conditioner on roots.
I'm glad you mentioned the different stages of our hair and how our hair can respond differently as we improve the condition of our hair and vice versa. I have the KC system and haven't figured out the custard. I really like the leave in, especially as a detangler. I bought the leave in first before the custard. After trying it on my own, my stylist told me that that custard wasn't the styler for me. We were talking about a number of things and I never circled back to ask why it's not for me. And I'm a bit baffled because every manufacturer pretty much says their products are for everyone and many products, not KC in this case, think their products are one and done. How can that be?? I also wonder if you tried a reverse wash n go with it. Custard first then top with the leave in. Seems as if some systems are even better than way. Eventually I want to learn how to use the custard on my hair since i have the product. My initial impression was I saw it's potential, I just have to get better with my overall technique.
I get a decent amount of definition with what raking I do. More raking may result in more definition but it would come at the cost of my time and patience. Edited to add ✍🏽 The technique in this video is also different from my usual technique. I specifically style my hair this way with this combo.
Hey Kayla, I’m curious…have you tried the Mane Crush Kurl-tini? I was going to try it but couldn’t find a video of you trying it. I can usually use the same stylers you use. If so, what are your thoughts?
@@WhatTheKink yes ma’am, her hair is similar to mine as well, maybe I’ll give it a try. Want to find an alternative when Ecoslay is taking a bit too long with my order 🤭🥴
Or you can order the Ecoslay on Amazon and get it in 2 days like I did! It appears to be more expensive on Amazon, but it ended up being about the same price in the end b/c I have Prime and didn't have to pay for shipping as I would have had I ordered it directly from Ecoslay.
Works for me, but I have really naturally curly hair. Even the leave-in conditioner alone will curl it beautifully. It all depends on your hair texture.
I just love how tight wavies have so much less shrinkage than tight coilies. "She said begrudgingly."🤣🤣 On a more serious note. Your WnG is lovely, and I hope the dew point remains at a level that your set will hold throughout the week. 💜
My hair is soaking wet and hasn’t been wrung out or towel dried. I’ve just turned on the camera at the tail end of a full wash day. I also wet my hair between the leave in and custard.
I use it like you do. More leave in and less custard. I also like the custard as a primer under Obia custard.

Haha! 🙌🏾
I love these videos when you revisit products
Well come on in and have a seat! ☕️

I like this gel as a primer too. Hate the leave in too.
I just used the custard recently and I loved it. The first time I used it I didn’t like it.

Happy Friday ❤️
I’ve heard that one should use more of the leave in and less custard. I’m going to try it again it’s been a long time.
My hair loves kinky curly and so do I.
I think I have to use without a leave in because I got little to no curl definition… wasted time😅.
If the leave in wasn’t theirs I can see that. Their leave in is the actual styler in this combo.
Tried it a couple times, LOOVEED it made my curls pop without using the leave-in but I think I got an allergic reaction because my edges started itching and burning. Anywho, loved the video God bless 💕
Don’t come for kinky curly this is one of the original OG natural hair products before all this other stuff came out
Very nice! I love this combo also.
I wish it was good for me. It flaked BAD on my hair and I only used those two products
The ratio is everything with this combo. So fickle. I can believe it flaked 💯!
If you try it again use a clarifying shampoo before using it. Either use the Come Clean shampoo from the line or another clarifying poo of your choice.
@@1GoldenBreeze ok I might try that in the future!
Don't forget to use lots of water during application
@@avasd59 Yes, absolutely!

I honestly wouldn’t use it the other way around on my hair. The way the custard does NOTHING when applied initially and is so easy to over apply.
Really good results! Your hair is growing beautifully. Lol kinky curly really could use a packaging update!
Gosh, yes! I’d be all over that new packaging!
Why don't you finger rake product in your hair for wash and gos more? I find that it increases the definition way better than tools and just smoothing
I get a decent amount of definition with what raking I do. More raking may result in more definition but it would come at the cost of my time and patience.

I had never heard of it until I watched a NJ Eberhart video earlier today. 🤣 It’s safe to say I haven’t tried it.

I love Kinky Curly. It is my go to for WnG's
Videos always come in hand! Im need more patience with this
Thank you kayla , i just try yr method and ive asked myself where the stickines went , ❤️

Got about 4 days. Not bad.
What do you mean cured? Will be using on my daughters hair.
Cured means the stickiness is removed. The hair will feel not wet but not fully dry either.
I cringe that you never damp your hair before applying the applications.
My hair is soaking wet and hasn’t been wrung out or towel dried. I’ve just turned on the camera at the tail end of a full wash day.

An entire jar No!
