    *UPDATE* Goooood morning y’all! So let me just make some things a little more clear.
    1). This isn’t the only time I’ve tried custards. I actually have some on my channel as well as off camera over the years. So trust me when I say, this time just solidified my dislike for custards.
    2). I ADORE THE LEAVE IN. It used to be a staple of mine but it didn’t last for the price. Using them together would HAVE NOT helped.
    Again, this isn’t the first time I’ve used a custard. Thank you all for watching on this here Saturday morning! I appreciate you all dearly!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

      Kinky Curly's custard is so hard to get off. And custards are very concentrated. They can't be applied like normal product. Especially with your hair you would need to use tones of water and much less product, and to emuslify it and apply a THIN layer.

    • @thelovedoneinternational3213
      @thelovedoneinternational3213 3 роки тому

      @@thecure3982 Why can't you apply custards like normal product? I'm heavy handed with applying products. And if you apply a lot of it. Won't this just give your hair more moisture/ hydration?

    • @thecure3982
      @thecure3982 3 роки тому +3

      @@thelovedoneinternational3213 Not necessarily. Some people use distilled water to dilute that custard. water leaves hair in 2-7 days because it is smaller that the styling product and evaporates. this is why some people do not like using water based products at all but product build up is not going to provide more moisture.

      One jar can last for like 5-8 wash n Go’s. You need to have soaking wet hair and emulsify (warm product in your hands) before applying to the hair. Also tons of water and using the paired leave in under is what makes it work. I have super kinky type 4 hair and get solid wash and gos better than Eco styler

    Hey Love, my hair texture is the same as yours. The frizz was a result of you diffusing and stretching your hair with the blow dryer. If you allow your hair to air dry it eliminates all frizz. It’s the best curling custard I’ve ever used that tames all frizz and retain curl definition for days on in.

    You have to use it on soaking wet hair and you used entirely too much. The product is VERY concentrated and needs to mix with water to fully disperse within the strands. Soaking wet hair is an understatement. For the best results, I do bigger sections (4) so my hair can hold more water, I put each section right under the shower head so my hair is drenching wet, and the second I move my head, I apply it. It instantly freezes my hair. Then I add a leave in on top for moisture. I'm a gel girl, and I have tried too many custards and hated them all. KCCC is the only custard that works for me

    • @happycurlhappygirl

    • @monicamagee556
      @monicamagee556 4 роки тому +1

      I’m confused now. Are u supposed to put the leave in on last? I had amazing results with this product. The best ever wash n go since my journey. I got major flakes though. Didn’t know where I went wrong because I used very little of the custard and I used the KC leave in with it. The flakes was to much though. I want to give it another try.

    • @alex1462
      @alex1462 4 роки тому +1

      @@solopenny I'm super late to responding, but here goes. If I'm using a moisturizing gel or custard (aka most stylers on the market), I apply my gel first because my fine strands need structure to get my curl pattern going. And then based on how moisturized my hair feels/looks, I'll add a small to medium amount of leave in on top. I started doing it after loving the deva curl b leave in (even though I hated everything else from them). It's essentially a styling gel that primes your hair for product. I tried the technique again with my DIY flaxseed gel and got even better results (flaxseed gel w/ any leave in on top). Leave ins underneath gels causes gels to have a softer grip on the hair. If I apply my gel first, I get all the hold that gel has to offer and I can add leave in on top if I need it.

    It looked pretty to me! But I will say, when I was using it I got the best results when using it with the Knot today underneath. It calmed the frizz down. And I styled on wet hair. The definition was soooo bomb.

  • @Monkeyslipperz

    Curl friend, please give this product another shot. For starters when you got that gunk on your hands as you combed through your hair, I knew instantly that you used entirely too much product. When I first started using it, I had the same problem. My hair ended up feeling sticky and gunky. So I did some research found out that this custard requires soaking wet hair to fully dilute and do its job. Secondly, I realized that I too used way too much product. There was a bit of a learning curve to this custard but once I figured out the right product to hair ratio, it worked wonders for my hair. I part my hair into 4 sections and use between a nickel and a quarter size of product depending on the length of my hair. Then I use the Denman brush to evenly distribute the product and diffuse dry.
    Now it’s become my go to gel/custard. I get great shine, soft hold, no frizz, and days of use out of it. It doesn’t define my curls on its own, so I have to use a styling cream with it. But now my hair looks great and doesn’t feel sticky or weighed down.
    I say give it another shot. Maybe film with half your hair using a styling cream then custard, and the other half with the custard only. Just remember: soaking wet hair and way less product.

    I’m one of those people that swear by the kinky curly custard. I have type 4a hair, I wash with the come clean and detangle with knot today. Wet my hair in the shower and coat it with the custard, wet my hair again to set the curls, Best results ever. I also don’t have thick hair 😂 maybe that’s the “trick”

  • @thethirdeyejourney3530

    Kinky Curly is still a Holy Grail for me. Now I’m not like everyone else, I don’t need to apply this in the shower or on dripping wet hair to get stellar results. But one thing I will suggest, unless you’re just getting your slightly damp roots drying your hair with a blow dryer can ruin a style with a custard. I learned this a long time ago and now I don’t use custards unless I have time to air dry. But I’ve found that a lone will have my hair a puffy frizzy mess 😭😭 Anyway I loved the video as usual!!!

    The problems I have with this gel is that if your hair isn't soaking wet it will feel sticky and it will flake. Also, it doesn't pair well with the majority of the products on the market. Then it comes in a jar which makes it hard to get consistent results every time. It's not worth the trouble or price.

    Apply to soaking wet hair.
    Apply quarter sized amount to 1/2” thick sections.
    Must be exactly 1/2”
    Spray hair after applying to each section with holy water.
    Inversion method for 23 minutes to reach appropriate drying.

    I have the same hair texture- a little thicker than yours, and this custard tames my curls wonderfully. I don’t diffuse though- simply allow my hair to air dry. However, we have to use what we prefer for our hair. For example, I don’t like gels, but love custards; some prefer gels over custards.

    I love this product. The difference I see from how we both use this is, finger comb each section with knot today first then follow with the kinky curling custard. Then I dry it under a hooded dryer. I feel to air dry it you’d need shorter and less volume hair. Then you don’t touch it until it’s dry. Don’t dry with a handheld hair dryer as you’re constantly touching it causing it to frizz before it drys. Also under a drying hood no product is left. Maybe a slight change with help the end look. I wear my hair like this until my was day defined curls for 2 weeks. Not it does say don’t touch or it will frizz. It’s. Product that you have to use from start to end as directed. Your hair is fabulous and I feel for you not achieving your deserved look.

    I don't hate custards but I do hate applying them cuz they're sticky, loose, and gross. It's like putting slime all over your head and then there are usually flakes later. • @crissidoll

    It's so overpriced but it's the best styling product I've used. I have very porous, tangle-prone hair and this is the only product that prevents my hair from feeling dry and straw-like after a day or 2 (Yes, it's usually that bad for me. I seldom wear my hair out for more than 2 days before washing/re-moisturizing.)
    My hair is very dense and frizz-prone though, and I actually mix it with gel and shingle on damp hair to get smooth definition that lasts. I'm telling you though, the moisture is to die for, fr.
