I love it on my hair, and I’ve been using it for years. To me it works best with the shampoo and leave in within the line. I definitely do not add any other products. With all three, a little goes a long way so it’s cost effective in my opinion.
Your hair looks nice. One thing I’ve researched and learned is that us with kinkier texture should use the system backwards. It’s a reverse wash n go. Instead of using the knot today first right after conditioner, use the gel. Use enough so that is just coats the hair which shouldn’t be as much as you used in this video. Then use the knot today on top as the styler. Supposedly the knot today has more hold and it will eliminate that gummy feeling from all the gel. I haven’t tried this myself yet but when I do get the system again that’s how I plan to do it. Since you have the products already it may not hurt to just try to see. Hope it works out for you! Love the channel.
This is one of my FAVORITE brands. Just a few tips. Your hair should be SOAKING wet. Use a GENEROUS amount of the Conditioner AND Gel. Here are the steps: - wash hair - rinse hair - apply conditioner WHILE SOAK WET - detangle and section hair Then grab SMALL section of hair - apply: water- conditioner - oil - gel Use DENMAN BRUSH to brush product through SMALL section of hair. This will ensure each strand is coated and will help clump your curls. After using brush I'll coil or shingle that small section You have to WORK IT! Good luck!
I love this and have seen it work on all textures. I think the key to it is water and you have to use the leave in and the jail together, but I feel like you need a lot of water with it or it will be sticky.
@ i'm a fan of the Eco starter with the castor oil in it!! Thing about the Kinky Curly, is you have to learn how to use it for sure my hair was a sticky mess when I first started using it!! I saw so many people using it and loved it so I wanted to be able to use it as well. That marshmallow root is what makes it so sticky . The marshmallow root is also what gives such great hold and definition, but it has to be diluted for it to be effective. The ingredients are great. The definition is very good and my washing go's Could last up to 10 days. I wash and ideep condition once a week, though. It's a great product, but I agree there are other products that yield really good results as well. I know a lot of naturals don't like Eco styler, but that one with the castor oil in it works really well for me and it is buildable.!!
I actually like it a lot. I do feel like with wash n gos, it is important to rake the product through the hair and your hair does need to be pretty damp/soaking wet. I would use this for a twist out. I'm still trying to perfect my journey with gels and custards as well. I perfer mousse
Hi Nessa~ Your hair came out nice! Don't give up on Kinky Curly. It truly works. To get the ultimate wash and go with Kinky Curly, put Kinky Curly Knot Today in the shower. Then follow up with Kinky Curly custard gel on soaked wet hair. I also put the gel in my hair in the shower and shake. The wetter your hair the better. 🥰
I really like your wash and go. KCKT is the first leave in I bought when I first went natural back in 2012. I used it as a prepoo/detangler. I'm not much of a wash and go natural, but I may eventually try the gel.
Your hair looks great 😊! I just tried this combo the other day it’s not my favorite either.. the stickiness is real!! soft hold and I found my hair feeling quite dry even though I used the leave in. I would like to also add it smelled bad too😩
I know this is an old vid but, when you used this gel and it feel stick aft ur hair is dry, that means you used too much. There is a right balance with the gel & water when applying, and thats something you will learn if you use it constantly. Hope that helps.
When I use this product I have to use a lot of water are it’ll be really sticky but the hold on my hair is medium/strong😟I think your hair looks great tho🙂
Our hair is pretty different but I had a similar experience with this gel. It’s just…weird to me. I’m not a fan of botanical gels. Your hair looks good but of course you know it best.
Hey Allison, I know I could not be the only one out there. Yes, the overall look is good but it’s just the fact that I like more hold. What are your favorite gels for wash n gos?
@@Leaveit2Nessa hey hey. Right now I like the Curls B N control. It’s only about $6, pairs with a few (not all) leave ins I like, has a strong hold and causes nice clumping.
Honestly, I know you don't like doing your wng in the shower, but you really need a lot more water in your hair. It should be sopping wet or it will feel gummy.
Well at least it looks like you got better results this time around now that you are more experienced with the process of doing a wash n go. But for me, if it doesn't give good hold, the gel is a waste of time.
I love this product. You have to use it on soaking wet hair in the shower. My last wash and go with this combo lasted 12 days.

Thank you and thanks for the suggestion. As weird as it sounds it definitely is something worth giving a try.

I gave up on this gel. I found a couple of gels that my hair loves and don’t require that much work.

I love the Kinky-Curly Custard 😍 it's my go-to gel for my WNG
Do you get any gumminess at all?
@@Leaveit2Nessa no but I've heard others have... 🥴

We have similar experiences here with these products.
Thanks as well!

It did look good, I'll give it that but my hold was non existent.
@@Leaveit2Nessa Wish it had more hold on your hair😢
Honestly I like the way it looks.
Agree, overall it looks good. It's the "hold" part that I don't like. Softer wash n gos may grow on me though. You never know. Thanks for watching!
I love this gel. there Is a learning curve but love the results. the $$$$ keeps me from purchasing it all the time.
It ain’t cheap. Lol! But if your hair loves it it’s worth the $$$
Your hair is pretty
Thank you 🙏🏽

Hey sis lol your hair I use I like kinky custard lol🥰
Hey sis! Thank you! How long do your wash n gos last with the Kinky Curly Custard.
Honestly, I know you don't like doing your wng in the shower, but you really need a lot more water in your hair. It should be sopping wet or it will feel gummy.
But my first time doing it was in the shower and it was a lot stickier.

I feel you sis. I feel like we have pretty much the same attitude when it comes to our wash n go’s.
I didn't like the sticky residue it leaves on the hair :)
It’s pretty annoying
I’m not a fan. I tried it a few different times and took suggestions and it’s still not what I like. I still got that expensive ass gel in my cabinet.
That was my last time trying it too!
Hair in the wind 😂 😂
Fabulous. Lol 😂
I do not care for that gel it made my hair straight not curly it was weird, nice video 😘
Oh nooooo, not straight, that sucks. What’s your go to gel for wash n go right now Shante? Thank you!
WnG best done in the shower your hair needs to be soaking wet for it to penetrate
Cute
