Thanks Steve, you’re always providing content that offers some sort of value to the viewer. Keep up the great work 👏🏁
I appreciate the kind words. It's great to hear people find the content useful!
I take the magnets out and replace the rear tires with NSR rubber tires, makes for some fun driving on my Policar track. It's a good tip though, as my friends that come over to race use the magnets on their cars, so I will give them a double check now. Thanks for posting Steve!
Cool! What part # are the tires you use and do they fit the stock wheels? If so I bet those real rubber tires grab like CA glue to the policar track! Thanks
Thanks Steve. Mine would not stay on the Carrera track. 6 out of my 8 of my new Carrera Digital cars were in low downforce position. 3 Nascar 2 488 GTS and 1 F1. Made a huge difference to mine. I do it without popping off the wheels. Anti static tweezers and plastic tools. Holding a screwdriver shaft under the magnet slot works great for me.
That's awesome! Glad you got them running better! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the tip picked up 2 tenths immediately.
Great to hear, those tenths add up!😁👍
Awesome car. You can really see the quality. 👍
Thanks it's a beauty!
Yep just like we discovered a week or two ago. Great quality on the video brother! Let's keep getting this content out there for Carrera to hear 🏁💯
Yeah I been showing the carrera magnets in some cars been put in wrong for over 6 months or more now, I believe the car I shown was the carrera gulf porsche, I don't know why they started doing this like 8 months or more ago and now it seems like all the latest cars have them installed the wrong way from how they been installing them in the cars with the magnet down in the chassis first then the spacer on top for like ever? Go figure but it stinks for us magnet racers because we all know the lower the magnet to the track rails the better the cars will run so now we all have to check all the cars and rip all the magnets out and put them all back together.
I will definitely check my magnets.
Go for it! see what you find. Thanks for looking.
Great post thank you. I did not know this great tip
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching.
Glad you can fix these problems with the cars.
Yep it's a quick fix and easy to do once you know how! Thanks for watching. 👍
Great info!🏁
Thank you 👍👍
Good looking car Steve!👍😊
It’s too bad you have to straighten em around right outta the box!😩
Yeah it is something that should not have to be done. Thanks for watching.
A small tip with Carrera cars without lights, take out the chip, and the car will respond and run a little faster. I found that out coincidentally when someone on eBay sold me a gutted Carrera digital car as an evolution car. He took out the digital chip and the lights, and connected the wires from the guide directly to the motor. No modification is needed. I bought a chip and light kit for it, but still haven’t put it in yet because it is my fastest Carrera car 😂
Yep less parts and direct to motor from guid is always the best way to go for racing. 👍👍
I wonder if the magnets have a high/low downforce side like ho magnets. Whatever side sticks to the motor is high downforce. Good stuff👍🏻SCFL!
Hi bud, these magnets are one strength but one side like with all magnets can be a little stronger. Thanks as always.
Good content for me new to hobby
Glad I could help! Thanks
We have the yellow and blue ones. Fun cars. Meredith loves crashing more than racing. 😊
Cool! It's great to hear you're enjoying them! Thanks for watching.
I rekon carrera know what their doing Steve ...some cars probably handle better with the shim reversed plus less motor strain or could be different model chassis height from the rail 🤗🙂
Hi Harry I don't know because they never came like this just last year and this year some cars have been coming with some metal shims in the bottom of the chassis first? It's weird why they would start doing this because everyone who races magnet cars is going to have to take apart the cars now and put the magnets in first so the cars run better? putting them in like this is not for the chassis style because I had some same chassis cars some with the magnets in the chassis first and then some had the shims in the chassis first.... It's 🐟🐠 I tell ya! LOL!!! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the info. I could not tell the shim from the magnet though until you pulled them out. How'd you see the issue by just looking at the bottom of the unopened car? Thanks again. Dale
Hi The shim looks like more like a mirror and the edge is cut sharp and the neo magnets are a shade different color and shininess to them and the edges of the magnets are rounded off. Hope this helps
@BSslotcars I will look! Thanks. Experience will help and I've got none. 🙂
@@daleander1 Hi I show everything you need to know in my video, You should be able to do it after watching it. let me know what happens.
Cool car Steve. IMO, there is a reason they are putting them in that way. they do have an e-mail and 800 #, reach out to them and ask why. keep up the great content!!! 👍👍
Yeah but it's strange because they never were like this for like ever? Who knows why they started doing it this way. Thanks for tuning in much appreciated. 👍👍
Why do You use braided shoes on The ho cars when You use the bigger tracks also does the voltage comíng from the power supply have any affect on the cars I’m going to try running my cars on 1/43 a volts 15-16
😊
Hi I have a playlist showing everything on how to make ho cars run on the large scale tracks. You can't just put them on your track they wont run, you need to ad a straw or a guide to the slot cars pin I show what I do in my videos, The braid I ad makes them run much better than without any, also if you have a stock carrera go it won't run ho cars because the power supply is to weak and the controllers are junk you will have to upgrade them first. HO will run on 15 and 16v but they can also run upto 22V depending on the type of HO cars, most ho cars 16 to 18V is good. Hope this helps.
both of my next gen NASCAR's had them in wrong
I think all the new cars may be coming out like this now? don't know why though. Thanks for watching.
Definitely a beautiful looking car, I may have to invest in some more Carrera cars. Here in Australia they’re only $69 compared to a Scalextric which is $95 .
Hi the carrera cars are built real strong too, I find them to be much better than my scalextric cars my scalextric cars feel hollow and very light and bendable and I always manage to mess up my scalextric cars gears, try some carrera cars out for the $ they are great. Thanks for looking.
@ Steve, you’re 100% spot on about the Scalextric cars bodies and gears, I just did a video about them. I already have a few Carerra cars and they go well..
Salut my friend super car subscribe subscribe ❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉
Strange they put them different, are all new ones the same as this.
Yeah it seems that way and I don't know why they would start doing this?
@@BSslotcars It could be where they are made elsewhere.
@@BasBoyRC never know!
Run it both ways. Or play with a mix. Compare the handling and speed. See what you like. Maybe that’s a way to tune.
Hi You could use the shims for tuning but most know that race with magnets the lower the magnets sit to the track rails the faster your car will go through the turns and will make your lap times better. So that said this kind of stinks because if you race with magnets you have to check all your cars and rip everything apart and put them back in, I don't see why they would start installing them with the shim down first now it makes no sense? Thanks for looking.
@ thanks I’m new. Really enjoy your work
Hi Steve. I had two cars lately, that had the same issue. Like I mentioned before in one pf your latest clips, it must be an assembly failure. I don`t know, if they are assembled by a robot, or human. We will see, if Carrera did manage to change this in the next months. In terms of the right assembly of the rear axle, always mount them with the gear-wheel on the right side. Never on the left. If you oil the axxles, don`t oil the gear-wheel and the pinion. Oil harms the plastic and you will have the oil all over the body on the inside and on 124`s, you will also have the oil on the track! Use the lubricate, that is especially made for the gear boxes and grease it up with that. Plastic and oil is a no go! One should also smear a tiny drop of the gear lubricant inbetween the gear wheel and the tip of the motor- shaft. Due to the movement of the gear-box sytem and motor-shaft in curves, this space there needs also to be lubricated! Many, many ae not aware of it and I always wonder, when those so called experts, set up their cars in their clips here on YT and forget this essential service to it. By the way, you forgot to oil the front axxle! 🙂 Before I oil the axxles on Carrera cars, I take them out and I wipe off the dirt, that sticks on the axxles witn a small piece of toilette paper, due to the dirt of the production process. Than I oil the bearings. But only the bearings. Some oil the whole axxle, which is collecting dirt, dust and hairs that way. Any way, have fun racing Steve and say hello to your sister. We miss her! 🙂.
Hi I am not sure what carrera is doing? I know about the places on slot cars to lube and use oil on been doing it so long, the oil I use is plastic safe 100% synthetic oil and I did not lube the front axle because it was already gobbed with it. it never is good to over oil stuff and yes the 1/24 oil on that spur gear to much will make a mess of your track for sure! I will tell Sheryl I tell her a lot of people keep asking about her but I don't know when we will ever get to race again. Thanks for watching 👍
I'ts just assembly differences by the chinese workers who put them together, nothing more than that.
it's a good heads up for newbies who might not know that changing this WILL effect the car's magnetic grip a lot.
Yeah that may be but they never were like this ever so why now that's what's puzzling all of us? Thanks for watching.
@@SlotCarNewsOfficial Yes for sure I had many reaching out thanking me for showing how to do this with the cars. It's nice to help out. I just subbed ya too I did not realise I was not subbed to you! Dummy me!
@@BSslotcars I get what you're saying but one thing i learned early working for companies is when you try to assign logical thought to how things are assembled in China is when you've made the biggest mistake of your life LOL!
It's a new car/mold for them and it could be as simple as the workers that day were new or the way the workers were trained to assemble those cars was different that day, or (more unlikely) is that Carrera have changed their factory in China and the workers weren't trained in the same way to assemble cars the same way.
There are lots of possibilities, the LEAST likely is that Carrera told them to make this change.
@@BSslotcars cheers thanks, I've subbed too.
Whats the circuit board and all the connectors for?
Hi it's just for all the outgoing connectors for the motor braids and led lighting and for there switch on the chassis to change running direction and filter noise out and stuff. Thanks for looking.
Do you know when this became an issue?
It's all in the video.
Actually that's the way they're supposed to come. Always have. Spacer on the top.
yes and they are coming with the spacer in the bottom... did you even watch any of the video?
Why not just leave the magnets out ? Take the time to learn how to set a car up and how to drive it .
why because 90% of people who buy slot cars run them with the magnets in them. it's not about running it with magnets or no magnets.
Has anyone contacted Carrera regarding this issue?
Hi no I have not contacted them but maybe they will see this video? Thanks for looking.
So with all these cars having the shim on the bottom its not a mistake. Carrera is purposely putting them in that way. Why, I do not know, but no way is this something being done wrong. It's how Carrera is doing it. So flip your magnets and get those crappy tires off. Yes, IMHO the tires suck. Later 🫡
I don't know what Carrera is doing and why they started putting the magnets in like this because they never did this before? it's weird. Ha ha yes don't know why they make the tires compound so hard! Lucky I have policar track they grip pretty good still. Thanks for watching
