Oh my god Mr Car Radios thank you so much, had mad problems with the ICC not working in the Fairmont, resoldered the power supply connection and now the whole thing works perfectly, Thank you Mr Car Radios you da man
WOW, fantastic video, I have had intermittent problems with my ICC for 2 years, it would not work on a cold morning but if the car was left in the sun and heated up in the afternoon , it would work OK. Followed all the soldering of connectors, Mr Car Radios advised and well, what a revelaton, amazing, has worked flawlesly ever since, thankyou so so much.
Wow, finally someone who knows a bit about these units. So much misinformation out there. I can tell your on the money here and I will be resoldering two ICCs I have sitting around my garage with exactly the problem you described. Thanks so much for sharing.
Absolute legend thank you so much, just ripped a unit apart and sure enough the solder joints were dry and cracked. Fixed and working now. Excellent videos!
Hello: Thank you for the information, after having put up with the radio stopping and starting. I finally removed the radio and checked out your suggestion, you are totally correct, after resoldering the pins and putting it now works like a new one. Great job guys. Cheers Harry
Dear Sir, like other +'Ve comments I wish to thank you for a wonderfully presented and demonstrated tutorial. I have the unit on our left, however, I'm sure this will aid me immensely. God Bless you - Pete
Thanks for posting these informative videos. I have 3 cars with these colored head units. Haven't had a problem yet. (touch wood) Except of course with the 6 stackers. I will be checking out you other vids.
Very helpful video, thank you. I do have a question...or two. I noticed on several occasions that my ability to control my A/C was impaired. No functions were available. I will look at the soldiering as you have shown but I was curious if there might another reason you know of. I was able to control the radio.
Thank you for this information.I have had isu with power supplay unit and it was shutting down all the time. When I replaced from wrecking yard another power supplay unit my problem is solved.
Excellent video clear instruction thank you, I am planning to upgrade , Would you be able to provide some information how to replace with an android unit with the climate control and reverse cam display overlay? I am unable to find any adapter harness for SY series Territory !
just to note, the dark grey unit is from a lower spec base model Ford BA/BF and territory models. The light Grey is the high spec models like the fairmont/ Ghia models
Awesome video, so informative and clearly described - i followed your process and cured all the frustrating issues with my A/C and speaker channels. No more whacking the dash centre console to get things to work! THANK YOU! I've got a new issue now - HVAC heater fan does not respond properly to the rotary dial input. Sometimes it works, sometimes not, sometimes the fan speed literally goes up and down on its own. BA XR8. Is this another solder issue that I missed? Any advice much appreciated. SUBSCRIBED.
I don’t suppose you would happen to know on the premium sound ICC with the volume knob in the middle. There’s a clear plastic ring that illuminates at night with the headlights on from behind. When you pull the volume knob off you can see two little bulbs behind the clear plastic I don’t suppose you happen to know if you can change those bulbs without removing the whole thing….? When I watch these videos and catch a glance of the other side, there seems to be a large green printed circuit board, and I suspect the back lights for all the buttons are soldered directly to that, and the volume knob is just another spot where they do that as well, I’m not sure I’m hoping I can fix it without pulling it out can you fix it from the front?
No.as this light is LED and it should never goes faulty unless the track of circuit board is crack.and if you intend to change then you need to know there are ANODE and CATHODE ends.
Hey mate, I brought a 2005 ba Fairmont ghia, I was told the icc was replaced, can you tell me why my sub and amp no longer work, all the fuses are good
first is work before after you bought the car,if it never work before then different ICC had been replaced(only premium model use sub and amp)but it work but suddenly sub and amp stop then you need to check the power to the amp and remote feeding to the amp.
Hello I wonder if you can reply if you get a chance I just the cracked soldiers on the circuit board and that is fixed all the buttons up I also replaced the polarized film on the LCD that is no problems I don't have any sound? I'm not sure if the sound was working previously because the previous owner of the car had put a Kenwood head unit in and I thought he had done that because the buttons weren't working but maybe he did it because the stereo was my outputting any sound I'm imagining this is not a quick fix it's a BA falcon with the premium sound ICC what are your suggestions please be happy to ship for repairs?
hello great videos can you help me plz ihave a 2003 ford falcon ba fairmont on my icc unit i have radio but the part of the screen that has my air con there is nothing on the screen it wa sthere but its gone noe i have the duel climate controls
Hey mate, got a Fairmont Ghia from 2005, last of the BA with the 6 Stacker premuim unit and I was having lots of dramas with the radio and screen cutting in and out as well as losing front speakers at times, sometimes giving the side of the trim and unit a bit of a bump helps it but is quite intermittent! Recently took it out the ICC to reseat the connection hoping it would help with no success and now it won't power back on in any capacity, no air con, nothing even with a couple of hits and being in the sun for a fair crack of the day hoping it might heat up a little internally whilst it's plugged in but I get illiminating lights around certain dials and what not, still locks via remote and such so hoping that helps. I'm hoping that it needs a resoldering of the main board for most of what you've described and would love to hear your thoughts!
I have a 2010 territory that I pulled back to get to auxiliary power and when I went to put it back in I bent a pin. I straightened that pin and now the whole thing doesn't work. The ignition lights on the dash stay on. The car runs and the fan still runs but nothing else functions. I have checked all the fuses in the fuse box, but they are still good. Could you please point me in the right direction if you have some idea of what might be wrong and where that might be. I can pull it out and check the unit to fix it if I now where to look. Thanks
Hey there, I'm having a bit of trouble with my ICC in my Ford BA 2003 Fairmont Ghia, maybe you could help me. Its a bit hard to describe, but basically it only works some of the time. When I turn the car on, the ICC doesn't always work. The radio/stereo and air con will work when the ICC isn't on, but I can't change the setting while its off (for example, if I want to turn the air con off or change the temperature I can't because pressing the button does nothing). Sometimes, if I'm lucky, the screen might turn on while I'm driving and work like normal, but I don't know what causes it to suddenly work. Do you have any suggestions? Edit: specified vehicle model
Another thing to note is that sometimes when the ICC looks like its turned on, the buttons don't always work, but that only started recently so I'm not sure if its related. Its just really annoying and a bit of a safety issue when I go to drive to work and its a gamble as to wether I'll be able to switch to the windscreen heater and use the demister on cold mornings or not. Do you have any suggestions for fixing this? I'm trying to find a new unit to buy near me but I'm not having much luck.
it sound like the power supply at the back of the unit especially BA series.when the unit not working try a bit of pressure at the bottom left hand corner and see it works or not.
@@MCRadios Thanks so much, I think you might be right! I tried pushing there and it did nothing, so I gave it a gentle bump on the trim near the bottom left and lo and behold, it came on, working perfectly. Hopefully this trick will work again in the morning lol. Do you have a video or know of a way to fix this issue permanently? Or will I need to get a replacement ICC still?
@@MCRadios I have the same issue, IV always put pressure on the unit to get it to work and now it doesn't work and all my safety lights and Speedo don't work. could you please have a look at mine, IV tried everything else
@@jaydem2086 Yea same issue I'm having, 90% of the time the whole right side speakers don't work, the screen turns off and u have to tap it to turn it on, pushing at the bottom makes the speakers come on but not stay on, going over bumps will make the right side come on for a split second, half the buttons normally don't work unless I punch it and it works until the next time I get in the car, really looking for a fix.
hi there, I need your help please. my front right speaker came on and off everytime I went over a bump. I did what you did and opened everything and I found all the speaker solder point all cracked so I re soldered it and everything was working fine unit all of a sudden all my safety lights started showing and my Speedo and revs were showing zero while driving, when I pushed the ICC in the lights went away and the Speedo came back. this happend for about a day with me having to push the ICC everytime the issue came up (all the supporting screws were right). one day later the lights came back with the Speedo show in my zero and pushing the ICC didn't do anything and IV tried everything. could you please have a look at it for me ,I would really appreciate it. What is it or how can it be fixed if the climate control is working But the stereo won't turn on ... No error codes just NO power but the way it looks its a BA mk2
Straight up these units are not strictly BA BF, your "BF" unit is a dual climate ICC meaning the drivers and passenger side are individually controlled and yes they are typically BF but they are not the only unit for the BF, your "BA" unit being a single climate control (both drivers and passenger controlled together) is also found in the BF..
