UA-cam had an extremely dumb change which now means even saying a “non family friendly” word a few too many times can get you demonitized. As a result this vid has a decent amount of censors, so sorry bout that. I hate it.

So just the word "racism" is now bad? Fuck youtube man
Funny how UA-cam claims they care about fighting Racism, but when someone releases a video vilifying someone for it, UA-cam says that’s inappropriate. Funny indeed.

I have a black friend and co-worker that recently went to Italy. He said he couldn't cut his hair in the time he was there, because every place he went to, the barber gave an excuse like "we are about to close", but after an hour my friend could see through the windows that they were still open and cutting other people's hair. I'm pretty sure this is only a minority in Italy, but there's definetely a big problem regarding those matters there.
That is really fucking dumb.
Unfortunately it's not, I think many people forget (especially here in europe) which side the italians were on during WW2 (obviously not all italians are racists and honestly it wasn't just the italians), it's not something they even really mention in schools and in most european countries people of color will encounter not so subtle racism. Fascism and racism througout history is censored especially that which took place more recently, it's uncomfortable so people don't talk about it which allows the problem grow and because the majority of people here haven't experienced it there's a belief that it's no longer a problem
Italy is the most racist country in Western Europe

@@Sinha010 they’re just racists and so are you people like are rotten spot in this beautiful sport and world
Watching this now, YT takes a massive FUCKING L for not letting you say words that otherwise define football team supporters in general. Politics and football go together like milk and honey unless it's just about passion.
As a Lazio supporter, I would like to make a few considerations.
I live in Rome and, in my very personal experience, most of the laziali i know are not absolutely right-wing, nor extremists. I have also met far-right Lazio supporters and the problem becomes more evident in the stadium, but from my direct experience I can say that they are a minority (it is an opinion that derives from my experiences, it can easily be contradicted).
The problem can be identified in two factors: the Italian culture and the ultras mentality. The ultras are extremists by definition, they experience strong ingroup dynamics and try to identify themselves in the most radicalized political ideologies. Without taking anything away from the Lazio ultras, and I state that I repudiate fascism and strongly condemn it, it makes no sense to "hate Lazio" because of the ultras (as many people say) because the ultras are only a possible manifestation of human behavior, and they are very similar in all teams.
The founding values of the club, inspired by the Olympic spirit, differ greatly from the thinking of these people.
I am sorry to contradict the Roma fans who think they are distant from these facts, because even if it makes less of a stir, some Roma ultras have often made equally deplorable gestures, such as writing "Laziale Jew" in front of a school in Balduina, or creating Hitler stickers with a Roma jersey, or wearing T-shirts that read "roma marches again" (in reference to the march on rome). It would be logically incorrect if I stated that Roma fans are fascists: people are, and most frequently the one who define themself ultras. And they are the evil of football and society in general.
I am tired of these people who soil the highest values of sports.
I really hope, as mentioned in the video, that serie a will take more serious action on this problem.

As a Lazio fan i can confirm that, it is a sizable minority and a very vocal one unfortunately. It is not only a problem with Lazio, but with other clubs in Italy like: Hellas Verona and Inter. The problem, as Maqwell explained, is that the punishments is always too light and ineffective, i hope one day i can go to the stadium without hearing racist, fascist and anti-semitic chants from the other Lazio fans, but i doubt so
I agree with you 100% bro as a fellow Lazio supporter 👍
Exactly although it is a problem with lazio and needs rooted out I feel like we as laziale get singled out even though I believe it’s more of a Italian football problem rather than just a lazio one
Inter ultras being racist is so incredibly ironic to me since that club was founded on anti-racist values - but then again, expecting racists to have more than a single braincell is a huge stretch. I still remember our Boxing Day clash against them in 2018; Koulibaly was target of racial abuse from the ultras basically for the entire match, and when he tried to bring light to the problem the ref gave him a yellow card and sent him off due to accumulation of yellows.
Hellas Verona? Holy moly, I'd say they are even worse than Lazio. In 2019 their ultras racially abused Balotelli during their home game against Brescia, and their Twitter account basically said "what racist chants, we didn't hear anything!" And as if THAT wasn't enough, in 1996 they protested the club's decision to buy Maickel Ferrier, a black player, by hanging a racist effigy of him in their stadium end, wearing KKK robes, and unveiling a banner in Veronese telling Ferrier to go clean the stadium for them. Ah, and another thing, their ultras leader is also a figurehead of neo-Fascist organization Forza Nuova.
That being said, Lazio needs to understand the deal with the ultras and be ready do do some sacrifices in order to kick racism out of their Curva once and for all. Even my anti-racist Lazio supporter friend understands this.
@@brokenbrilliancerab6911 Well said
I honestly don’t even think it’s a minority at this point, it happens far too often

I'm a Lazio fan, and I can confirm that in Italy a lot of clubs have the same incidents but the thing is that they are the minority of fans, and with Lazio is no exeption. Football fans are like a small society and just like a society there is always the guy who supports these stupid acts. But many people called me names refered to those acts even tho are history and fans are much more. We should learn from these things but the problem is that the italian FA doesn't do much
Exactly, Lazio are just the easy scapegoats. Anyone who follows Serie A closely knows it’s a league-wide problem.

EDIT: you can also play a "game" that me and my friends play called "spot the taxi stoppers" in pictures of Atletico fans. You can even find some in their farewell to Luis Suarez
Has this been a long-running issue with Atleti?
The good news in Spain is that Real Madrid and Barcelona have banned their violent right-wing ultras and that unlike in Italy, there's a lot more left-wing ultra groups. The bad news is the political differences between right-wing and left-wing ultras is probably more likely to produce sporadic violence with places like Seville or Madrid being particularly hazardous due to Real Betis/Sevilla or the Atletico/Rayo Vallecano ultras
@@Eibarwoman there is not a lot of left-wing football fan groups lol specially compared to the amount of right-wing groups and more so on the bigger clubs
@@Alex-mq6qi The right-wing groups at the largest clubs (Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, and Barca) on the other hand particularly troublingly. Atletico's is the one given free reign and unlike the ones at Real Madrid or Barca, haven't been kicked out of the premises and forced to reside in bars.
The left-wing ones are found in your less competitive clubs at least in terms of La Liga title aspirations and aren't exactly a guarantee. The Basque ones are rather troublesome in a different way with historical fondness for a defunct terror group. Football ultras in Spain to put it lightly tend to be vehicles of political extremism with left-wing ones tending to be more prone to "Abertzale/regionalist separatism" of a Marxist-Leninist type and right-wing groups of a Francoist leaning.
@@Eibarwoman yeah but that last bit is a consequence of everything in this country being overpoliticized. I still insist that most ultra groups are right-wing as opposed to left-wing and there's entire regions where no decent-sized club will have a group that's left-leaning (barr really obscure groups that are basically friend clubs lol)
The solution? 16 games behind close doors and/or fines that go into the millions of euros. If their revenue plummets as a result of that, the clubs will fight against racism as hard as they fight against dudes who watch Salernitana vs Cagliari on footybite.
At this point, with how many incidents have happened and how they’re still happening, they should be treated like a club who is in financial crisis and be relegated to Serie B.

As a Lazio fan against any kind of racism I think you should have started with what you ended: the biggest problem is the league, that don't have the treath to give a banning order to fans, something that in Premier League is present. Second you have to consider how many of these people are: for example when you talked about that steward that was discriminated there's the video on youtube that proves that were actually only (I'n not joking) 4-5 people doing the choir. These people represent the first two line of seats in the stadium, you can't even present them as "Lazio fans" but as something else. You have been very disrespectful towards the rest of the fans and the football team putting it in a really bad light. And we are already a target, especially from referees when we play european cups
did you just ignore everything else he said

@@uhAngellit’s always the same people that do it. Most of the laziali want these people GONE
The only solution to this is UEFA banning Italian FA and Italian clubs from all European competitions, including WC qualifiers. Maybe then they'll take action.
UEFA in the 80's banned all English clubs for the actions of Liverpool fans during the Heysel disaster so a precedent exists. If their mantra really is "No to racism" they should ban the clubs whenever racist incidents happen.
banning a whole country because of a few dipshit is enormously fucking stupid. I'm glad morons with this mentality aren't in the governing body
As an italian and Roma fan, the biggest blame is on the italian FA and not on the Club (Lazio) for ignoring these despicable acts or at best imposing light sanctions to clubs. What we’d need to do is to imitate what the English FA did with hooligans from the 1980s on, they made them disappear with lifetime bans and now stadiums are way safer environments for everybody.

I am an transplanted Americano here up in the hills Lativm, east of Roma (Capitale). I started cheering for Lazio when they won the scudetto back in 2000. I want take a moment to defend my club. It is not right to blame the majority for the ignorant few that let the evil in their hearts manifest. I obtained my Italian citizenship from my grandparents and family that immigrated. I have lived in the south (Calabria) and have family in Molise. I live now around both Romanisti and Laziali. Our palazzo (apartment building) is full of gente Laziale. They have asked multiple times to go with them to the Olimpico and to the Curva Nord. Which I have yet to do, it will be a dream come true. On Sunday's or gamedays when Lazio scores the building literally shakes and everyone can hear each others shouts of joy. None of the people, or people I know that cheer for Lazio have an hateful or r****t bone in their bodies. Actually, they are ashamed to be associated with those anti-sportivi ignorants that express the evil in their hearts. I am telling you truth EVERY CLUB IN THIS COUNTRY EVERY CLUB! has those kinds of fans. Because stadiums are composed of human people. SS Lazio just gets the press because our Ultras are some of the most extreme. If any of you believe that AS Roma, Juventus, Napoli, Hellas, Inter, Empoli, Atalanta, or any club in Sicily have ultras that do not express certain opinions or make chants to fuel what they carry inside the ❤ then you are under quite an illusion. It is a human problem. It is a heart problem. An individual human being must take responsibility for what we have inside. Good that there are supporters who try to fight racism. In Poland, such ppl were either driven out or became worn out :(
Steward working mainly at the Dall'Ara (Bologna FC stadium) here. Thankfully Bologna does not have these problems, with everyone included ultras being against racism and discrimination of any kind. However during a match at Sassuolo Stadium (the organiser Is the same and since It's close from Bologna we go there frequently), Salernitana supporters were racially abusing Sassuolo's black players, even tho Salernitana's best player was Simy lol. I was under their stand and when I had enough of the monkey chants I tried to contact the higher ups expressing my disgust, but i only got a "Yeah yeah i'll tell the federation" with a blatant disinterest. Unsurprisingly nothing came out on the news so my action was in vain, the problem Is with adult/old people Who have important positions, they Just dont care.
Also in my workplace there Is a black guy Who constantly gets racially abused and called the n word by our mid 40s/50s bosses, he said to me that he's not bothered by It but when i look at his face i can tell It hurts.
I really Hope things change with the new generation

It’s kinda ironic you filmed this video while wearing a Celta Vigo kit. Italian fans are awful, but Spanish fans are almost just as bad. The entire Southern Europe has a problem with racism and it’s really sad. We must work together to fight it.
Spain's problems are undoubted existent but seem to be a bit more intermittent and localized due to a combo of more left-wing ultra groups being more commonplace which discourages said racism. The other reason would involve several clubs have banned some ultra groups, all right-wing ultra groups due to their violence and racism in particular from their stadiums.
Edit: That being said, the Spanish clubs that have right-wing ultra groups still permitted inside the stadium are troublesome and prolific. Particularly Mallorca comes to mind and probably won't ever do anything about their ultras due to finances unless the RFEF does something to punish the club as they're a Balaeric Island team where they're never going to Europe and get mocked by Celtic for example as the money isn't there for that.
Simply in southern Europe mass immigration from Africa is only 10-15 years old so they have not had centuries to normalize certain situations as racist as opposed to countries with a long past of extreme racism and colonialism such as Belgium, France, uk etc

When I was younger I used to support Lazio because Klose played for them. Thank god I didn't know how their fans were...

About the Klose thing: Lazio ultras didn't spare him from their bullshit. I remember a picture I saw where one Lazio ultra raised a big banner with:" Klose mit uns " (Klose with us) written on it. This is a derivative of: "Gott mit uns" (God with us), which was the motto of the goddamn SS. Speaking as an Inter fan, most Interisti hate the ultras, the club motto is “brothers of the world” because the club was founded by foreign players, they are proud of having a global fanbase and they see the bigoted behaviour of the ultras as the antithesis of that. Sadly it’s not a simple football issue, it’s an issue with Italian culture in general. I have Italian friends and it’s sad that it’s like this.
Speaking as an Inter fan aswell i can say that you are incorrect. Interisti have a lot of respect for CN69 the club was not founded exclusivly by foreigers and the Ultras have friendships with foreign clubs like Nice and Dinamo Buchuresti
The club was founded by Italian dissident associates of AC Milan, who wanted the team club to accept foreigners. AC Milan majority of fans didn't want it. That's why we met at Ristorante l'Orologio in 1908 and started Internazionale FC, to be the Brothers of the World.
That's the story.
Internazionale is not a foreign made club. It's a club made to acknowledge the foreigners as our brothers and to welcome every single person of the world is accepted to play in our club.
CN69/Boys San and the Inter Ultras are just full of neofascist scum from Milan mostly, because of the Bauscia's tradition of Inter during 50/60s which attracted a lot of right wingers (which they remained)
