As a Spanish I have to say this is super sad.
I watched the womens world Cup final in a big screen in my town. There was more people than I expected and everyone was very happy after Spain won.
That its the saddest part to me, finally women's football in our country won and yet because of this Torrente character (Search Torrente to understand the reference) everyone it's talking about a man that wasn't even on the pitch .

Sadly there is still so much toxicity in football. And it proves how many additional obstacles women teams have overcome to play football. From the training grounds and access to facilities/health professionals, to abusing coaches and federation.

One correction: the email was signed by more than 15 players. They just released name of only the players from barcelona. As real madrid president stopped the federation from releasing names of real madrid players.
Also just wanna point out that the Spanish FA had a controversy just before the World Cup. There is a video going around of the Spanish players mocking the New Zealand Haka. It’s on UA-cam, go watch it. The Spanish fa did nothing about it. Didn’t suspend any of the players and the captain of the team had to apologise to a native Māori tribe. The players shouldn’t have done it but the fa just turned a blind eye. I know you didn’t mention it but it is a fairly big thing with not enough media attention.
The Spanish FA is also very racist. The way they did not react nor support Vinícius when he was attacked by fans was disgusting. You can find racism in a lot of European leagues but in Spain, the federation itself is the main culprit.

While I agree that his conduct is unacceptable, this doesn't show the whole story. There is a video of Hermoso laughing about the incident, and the squad laughing along with her and teasing her. She doesn't seem troubled by it. Granted, that video could be fake, but it doesn't seem to be the case. Still, there seems to be a sexist culture within the federation, so I think the players are taking the opportunity to force a needed change.
Blown way out of proportion, the guy did nothing wrong but everyone around him, federation and players, has turned this into a massive mess.

It's nothing short of amazing what that squad was able to do IN SPITE of this disgraceful federation. I cannot imagine the steamroller they could be under a proper coaching team, which we know can very clearly influence a team's performance (cough USWNT cough). It's so disgraceful that even after proving their chops (at all 3 WC levels), they're still basically being called insane for being very understandably mad with this whole thing and have to keep begging for a crumb of respect and reform from the RFEF. A lot of the public discourse (including many in these very comments) is (unsurprisingly) still very toxic and apologetic of this kind of unacceptable behavior. 1-Quereda was DT over 27 years (no 24).
2- Vilda voted for Rubiales, betraying the former president who had given him the position (that is where all business between Rubiales-Vilda starts).
3-Rubiales had a lot of corruptions causes (Spanish tournament in Arabia, Referees, orgies with federation money, etc) or very unethical cases like not hand out the medals to the tournament winners for the issue with the 15+3, Rubiales and Vilda were in the match and it was their job to hand out the medalts.
