Amtrak locomotive change at Washington, DC

Engine changes -- which force the railroad to switch power (in this case from diesel: a GE P42 and Siemens ALC-42, to an electric Siemens ACS-64) are legendary magnets railfans. Other classic engine change locations include New Haven, South Amboy, and Croton Harmon. Here, in early October, 2023, we witness power being exchanged on Amtrak's northbound Silver Star, Train 92.
