"What's a Blues Brother?" Dan Aykroyd just had shooting pain in his gut with that line.
At least the shooting pain wasnt from glycol in his vodka
"Most car crashes in a single film production", Search!
Rest in Peace, Mister Belushi.
Taken far too soon.
@@macoppy6571 I know. It's awesome right? I've got a copy of the Guinness Record book with that in it.
Chaz is on a mission from God.
Fun fact
Most venomous snakes are edible. They're venomous, not poisonous. Coral snakes are good eatin' but they always give me gas.
I was going to type this as well. The only part about them you'd want to be wary of would be the venom glands themselves, so as long as you don't eat the head (which wouldn't have much meat anyway), you should be golden.
1:25 ... Florida. It figures.
Lance is my unintentional spirit animal. Those rolls hit very close to home for me. I've had moments where it's "ok, don't roll this exact number and you'll be fine", and then I proceed to roll that exact number.
Seeing a Hatchet in this hit me with memories of reading the book as a little kid.
I remember that book! Might even still have it around somewhere. It was one of my favorites, along with the Tripods Trilogy.
that book was great.
Was that fourth grade ?
Loved that book! Brian’s Winter was great too 🙂
I own the whole series, it’s such a nice and easy read for when I want to read something to my nieces and nephews
Coral snakes are not poisonous. They are venomous. Thus you can eat them (less the poison sack).
Oddly, the seemingly harmless Garter snake can be poisonous, but is not venomous. Thus eating it can kill while being bitten is harmless. (Other than lots of nasty bacteria of course.)
*venom sack
I got bit by a garter snake once.. that was a first and last for me and the snake.
@@lokithecat7225 Snake venoms are not generally toxic when eaten. They must be injected to kill. A perfectly healthy person can eat/drink them.
However, if you have an unknown cut in your mouth, or an ulcer in your stomach, or whatever they could kill you anyway.
So, not poisonous -- mostly.
@@jwrosenbury wow, still didn't get it with two of us commenting about it.
You said:
"They are venomous. Thus you can eat them (less the poison sack)."
If they are venomous they have a venom gland, not a poison sack...
@@Torsin2000 I thought "*venom sack" was sophomoric humor.
You don't seem to get it. If you eat it and it kills you, it's poison. If you inject it and it kills you it's venom.
If you eat the venom gland and it kills you, it's a poison sack.
The temptation to make a video of "Gimme a survival check" 4,000 times would have been overwhelming for me!
Thanks for going back to these. Many groups have tried to make dnd-related shorts/shows/movies and none are good. These dnd editions are fantastic and I'm glad they are back.
I think the key difference is that Mann Shorts doesn't really do jokes about the game itself. Their comedy is, at BEST, loosely tied to TTRPGs in general and even more loosely tied to D&D specifically. There's another channel, which I won't mention by name, that I've really enjoyed which does comedy based on video games that has recently started a D&D series. While I love the channel and the group, their D&D content is...pretty fucking boring because their first 3 D&D videos are just retreading the same tired jokes that have been being made for at least 20 years. It's like the equivalent of making a joke about how you have to press Start to shut down a windows computer (maybe not quite that bad since it's just the logo now, not Start, but you get my point). It wasn't very funny to start with and it's definitely not funnIER now that it's been made a million times. I imagine a lot of the groups you're referencing probably make that same mistake.
@@weezact7 the problem is translation. Very few things in dnd relate to anything else, similar to how video game ideas sound great for homebrew but suck once implied. Same concept - it just doesn't translate well.
And neither do 40 year old jokes, just as you implied
They never went away.
Did Lance just "Where the Red Fern Grows" onto that ax?
OK. I'm gonna be that person. Coral snakes really could not bite the arm very well. They do not have fangs like other venomous snakes. They cannot open their mouths all that wide and the rear teeth must pierce the skin to inject venom. Also they are very small so not much meat but you could eat them with no problems if you cut the head off. This has been your person with too much time and useless knowledge talk. Love y'all. Keep up the fun.
Also coral snakes are pretty passive. It's honestly impressive when someone manages to get bitten
Water moccasin on the other hand can grow to eating size and are aggressively bitey.
Coral snakes aren't big on hanging out in trees, either. They live mostly underground.
Also, being elapids, basically cobras, their venom is neurotoxic. It doesn't cause swelling.
Almost everyone who has ever been bitten by a Coral snake was handling it at the time. They're pretty, but don't pick them up.
@@cheshyr1 Those things are mean. Only snake growing up that I killed on site.
Dungeons & Dragons: Florida man takes Meth and enters the Everglades
The already do Florida Edition. Lol
“Dungeons & Dragons: Survival Edition”
As a DM who runs his games using plenty of Survival Checks... I feel attacked
Roll for audience reaction.
me too, it's flanking now
Don't remind me. All my skill points in every beginning Level 1 character always go to 1.) Survival, 2.) Swim, 3.) Perception. What's my mage's Knowledge:Arcana? Who cares until Level 3?
7:30 Melissa: "Sounds so psychotic" - so just another day playing Sara? :D
Coral snakes aren’t all that bad (no true fangs), and you can eat venomous animals but not poisonous ones.
Never mind the Everglades, plunge the victims into the middle of any Florida city and see if they can survive!
Rule of threes:
Three minutes without air
Three hours in the elements
Three days without water
Three weeks without food.
As long as you can breath, shelter should always be the first priority.
Edit: wrong number
The 5 Cs of survival gear . Combustion ( fire starting ) , Cutting ( a blade ) , Container ( metal pot or canteen ) , Cordage ( rope or line ) , and Cover ( shelter and clothing ). This party had the the first three Cs .
Loving the Doc Strange T there. Also, Sara looked too satisfied when replying that she bought a hatchet to the woods. I think she might have confused this with the Friday the 13th D&D Edition.
Naw, it's totally a reference to the YA novel Hatchet, where a boy survives a plane crash deep in the wilderness with only his survival hatchet.
You know if this was based around Naked and Afraid, it would have been a good crossover with Florida edition!
Only if they were all also related.
Only if the players were literally, you know, naked. ...and the camera was stuck on Sarah.
@@ridetillidie8090 that would be a naughty episode! 😘
@@crovax1375 ...and?
and I'm saying that the Naked and Afraid franchise and the Florida edition would be easy to have a crossover with!
It's Red a Yella kills a fella, Red and Black you're alright Jack.
unless you're in Australia, then, just shorten it to "it's alive, kills a fella"
I go with "Kill the snake from a distance. Any snake." Hasn't failed me yet.
"Well that was a snuff film of a session!" 😆
"I have rolled eight times and gotten nothing higher than a seven!" 🤣
I've been in that exact situation, all I wanted to do was climb a rope.
I was wondering when he'd figure out the fire starter and all the character sheets would Flame On!
he didn't need that it has a magnesium block wet kindling isn't much of a problem
That's why I use the rhyme "Red touches yellow, you're a dead fellow." Red rhymes with dead, making the correct rhyme more memorable.
It's also easier in conjunction with the other half. Red on yellow you're a dead fellow, red on black friendly jack
Was that a 'Home Improvement' reference? Nice!
It was and it brought a smile to my face
They totally could have eaten the snake, because it's venomous, the flesh isn't poisonous.
8:27 death by blower
that acting was too amusing!
Soooo, Kyle yawning is the thread that links all of these videos together?
"the show is called make it home or die..." - should have rolled better on the investigation/insight check when signing those NDA wavers. 😉
What makes you think the DM even allowed a roll for that?
"Yeah, because you're used to eating Trash"
Justen's a Raccoon, it's canon now.
Trash Panda for life!
"You look like a Blues Brother."
"What's a Blues Brother?"
Ouch. THAT hurt.
I just LOVE these little reminders of how (chronologically) OLD I am! (and I've been getting them since the turn of the millenium) Fun times.
Paparazzi edition! I love that edition! Selling our soul to a warlock patron one upskirt photo at a time!
Love the new edition gang! I also love that it's not a TPK if you have players "convert" their way out of checks and saves using apparently lethal dice 😋 I hope all of you are as well as circumstance will allow 🙏 Cheers and thanks for all the work you guys do!🍻
TPK...DM...."I had a great time!" CLASSIC!
I was kinda hoping for a turnaround, where the players gank the TV staff and escape.
Lance acknowledging his fate of starring in the gag reel was way funnier then it should have been.
As a person that loves Dungeons and Dragons and survivalism, this was hilarious and I am personally offended. :P
Frank and Steve are my two favorite cast members.
Oh God. They're gonna be the camera crew on a Jersey Shore type show. They're gonna have to keep up with the crazy people and contractually be forced to watch people hook up
I honestly don't understand how you guys still don't have 1mln subscribers. You're one of the most talented show I know.
Thank you!
Who else wanted to see him trying beat saber?
Calling it, next week is paparazzi edition 📸🎥. Be ready to have your private life violated
That's a small target to hit that accurately
@@empath69 your name suits you perfectly
@@empath69 now my comment was being more impressed by the feat, to speak a snake is impressive but to do that to one whose head is about the size of a quarter is extremely impressive, maybe next time instead of assuming and writing a nasty reply you could seek clarification
@@empath69 wait it's all fantasy?!?!? Oh shit I thought it was 100% real I coyld see her arm swelling up and turning purple.
Now I low-key want a series surrounding each of the skills, like the class series, but for each skill
"What's a Blues Brother?" I felt that in my soul, man. (See what I did there?) ;)
"I had a great time!" i'm dying!
"whats a blues brother"
i felt that one
You guys need to do ads professionally. Your plugs are my favorite on all of UA-cam.
Oh wait. You do. More manshorts please.
Best edition ever! I want more of these.
"Make it home or DIE"
Coming this fall to CBS
😎😂
Glad to have more Editions! I hope you guys get to make more of your non-table skits, too!
Love the rap at the end!!!! AWESOME! WRITE A SONG!
George Carlin, Rodney Dangerfield, and Tupac.
This is a man I wanna hangout with.
The look was more Blues Brothers 2000, but still nothing but love.
With that last line I'm thinking next week is "Internet Influencer Edition".
or paparazzi edition
"what's a Bluse Brother" gaasp
We need a rock edition!
I am a hobbyist survival person. Not an expert.
1. The two fire starters he has work fine. Yes he has two on him. The larger one you saw off some of the metal part which is magisium. Form a small pile. Then scrap that saw blade which is not in this video. Across the black part of the block. Hard. It should make a HUGE amount of sparks. Causing a fire that will light even in the rain!
The second one is the part he was using too rub on the first one. Which again is the same thing that the first one had on the top part. It is called a Faro rod. The striker needs to be a high carbon steel.
2. She should never have brought a axe to this. She should have brought a large knife. Like a 6 inch long blade that was thick and heavy. Non folding knife. It does all the jobs a axe can do and skin an animal.
3. The cooking pot was the smartest thing in this whole video.
I love the jokes.
5:11 Yep. I feel that. That's why I always take a level in Rogue so I am good at something.
Awesome way to start the day
Anyone else not surprised that Sara looked very happy to have brought a hatchet? 🤣
I thought it was red on yellow, dangerous fellow.
Yellow on black, you're okay jack
Can we talk about how good Kyle is looking. Like dude. The hair is on point. Keep it up.
I look forward to this show every week.
Everybody's shirts are awesome! And Sara's hair looks excellent! Another great episode!
I love that he got a Harbor Freight $1 ferrous rod with magnesium block. They cover that tiny rod with so much gunk I have never gotten that thing to produce a decent spark.
The promotional video at the beginning was so good that I forgot I was here to watch you guys play D&D.
Also, realizing Chazz is too young to know The Blues Brothers hit me in the feels. :( :p
Love you guys, keep it up!
I appreciate the Home Improvement reference
Melissa telling Justen he is use to eating trash *chefs kiss*
Chaz is always cracking me up
great work as always, well done
Best gag reel yet
The revenge of Sarah will be as swift as it is brutal
Poor Sara! Normally she rolls so well.
"What Blues bother " I felt myself die a bit.
DND paparazzi edition
Wow! You guys outdid yourselves this was so much fun :)
waitaminute, Florida Eveglades? FLORIDA EDITION, BABY!!
"Snuff film of a session." Delightful.
The next one is going to be paparazzi edition I bet!
The producers allowed Whalen to hold the camera so that they didn't have to replace Dave the cameraman.
I'm glad Melissa's arm seems to be better. No more brace!
What’s a Blues Brother!?!? I hope you were kidding with that.
"Gee-ardia" 🤣
D&D Florida: Insects of Permian Size - that’s my suggestion. I live there and when not dodging Florida Man and his whacky hijinks, life is pretty much all about spiders and bugs.
Sarah brings a hatchet... the only surprise there is the fact that it was a hatchet and not a machete
Storms coming, Hatchett coming
I didn't know i was waiting for something til this showed up. Lol
Lance: "Well, it took us less than a minute to split the party..." Y'all, I'm only 2:34 into the video, but I had to pause to say I feel like that line just told me everything about the next seven minute to come... :o
I thought that You guys run out of ideas or get fed up with format but that episode was bonkers!
Fire starting hint" dryer lint with some popsicle sticks
I know how to purify water, make clay from dirt, fire harden wood, whittle fishing hooks, weave mats, make cordage from both vegetation and hair/sinew... I can even make Roman concrete with shells and aggregate. All because I always want to know more than my situation requires.
Wow, A Nick F'ing Gage reference. Bring out the pizza cutter and light tubes.
Huh, Sara read Hatchet. I suppose that follows.
I'm not from the USA, so all I know about the everglades are the boats with the giant fans on the back. I want one, but have nowhere to use it.
@@jefft9996 great idea! It doesn't seem that dangerous. I think as long as I engage safety squints, it should all be totally ok.
That was DARK lol but I loved it. XD
Wut? No 'I guess I'm gonna have to drink my own soda.'
Please tell me that Sarah's hatchet is a reference to the novel Hatchet.
This was hilarious!!
opening sponsor That was so Jake Blues. Could we see a Blues Brothers addition maybe? lol
