Why? If a player goes out of their way to put together encounter destroying combos why not let them destroy it? It's not like you can't come up with another?
I mean thats fine a couple of times but if let em do it ALL the time, across multiple games, the players and the DM might get kinda testy and put together encounters and ways to keep you from one shooting the Encounters obviously
@@Deathstrike613 What are you smoking and how high are you right now/when you posted this. You do not "let them" nor can you "come up with another" encounter on the spot. This kind of mentality is what leads to dms quit playing. The dm is also a player and has the HARDEST job to do. They have to prepare the session for everyone to play, they have to try and BALANCE a fight around the players to make sure its fun and engaging as well as make sure EVERYONE gets the spot light. If a player comes in with a character solely to disrupt the game than there is no fun for anyone but the Sarah of the group who intentionally did that. This can also lead to the dm starting an arms race with that player to throw bigger and badder monsters at the players as well as more deadlier traps and design every encounter to target the character's weak spot. This also RUINS the fun for everyone else in the group. Lance in the skits is the hardcore rper who rather have an underbuilt character that is fun to engage in the world (or to meme with), Wayne (I dont think I spelt his name right) in the skits is the good player every dm wishes for as he builds a component character but also engages in the story of the world. While Sarah in the skits are to show off the BAD type of players who go in not caring for the world, the story, the work of the dm and wants to solely destroy everything she comes across. Literally go watch some real dnd youtubers like the DM lair, How to be a great DM, Matthew Colville, Taking 20 or the dungeon dudes to see how much the type of players Sarah acts as is a pain and ruins ttrpg games.

Searing Fire Metamagic, even if immune you take half for 427, 683 hp damage. Did you HEAR me ask you to roll a DEX/Reflex saving throw? Then why do you think You GET a such a saving throw? The spell basis for the bombs grants neither a save of any kind, nor Spell Resistance, though it only does d6/2levels to a max of 2d6 damage. We, as in all of us INCLUDING Me are using homebrewed content. I posted this content to the website just before the game began.
@@josephbrewster1169 He was saying 427,683 is the halved amount of damage that you would still take due to the "Searing Fire Metamagic" overcoming the immunity, so the full damage would be 855,366. The space after the comma is probably just a typo because it is normal to put a space after a comma EXCEPT when writing numbers, so they hit spacebar out of habit.
With that explanation out of the way, should I disregard the rest of your argument since you failed at reading comprehension? No one should listen to commenters that are bad at reading comprehension.
I'm pretty sure they were just making a counter-joke to the OP's joke, which clearly sailed right over your head. So I'll just leave you with that to think about.

Nice to see Lance actually not get killed, or be severely injured as soon as the fights start. Sarah poor Sarah. Worked so hard on her character and never got to actually use it, although if she went corporeal she could survive the blast and come out on top like always.

Hombrew is like an array of spices that you can add to the soup that is your games to really give them a personalised flavor but like making soup if you just toss in all the spices at random you end up with a mess that no one wants.
My favorite characters have been homebrews, but never like this-- I never homebrewed to give myself attacks or powers but to flesh out an interesting character arc (which is why my DM always approved my homebrews). But I have known players like this.

I've made a fair bit of homebrew in the past, but I've never put anything on the DMs' Guild. My stuff always seemed too tame and grounded compared to the wacky stuff on there.

Also, a solid reminder of why my campaigns are "only core classes and races" with magical items from other sourcebooks to be rare, and thus highly prized, things at the end of quests or other difficult adventures, trials and tribulations. :-)
The lack of Sarah was hilarious. I was seriously waiting for the ball to drop or the campaign to finish in like a minute or two.

So yeah, if the Ifrit is even remotely based of the fire elemental it could summon he (lance) should have taken 1D10 fire damage each time one of his punches hit
And Lance would be on fire and take 1d10 fire damage at the start of each of his turns (until Lance uses an action to put the fire out) since the Fire Elementals get to automatically hit you by moving through your space to set you on fire.
Ifrit are a completely different Creature Stat block. They're a subtype of Genie.

Homebrew or not, step of the wind and flurry of blows are both bonus actions. It would make more sense if he just said his speed was 45, which is actually achievable by just being high enough level in monk.
What better way to give people what they want, then by giving them what they weren’t expecting. Even if it’s only for 15 minutes ; mediocrity lost that initiative.

My game is pure homebrew, but I ensure that races and classes aren't completely broken since not everything on that page is...well-behaved or typed nicely.
3:55 Lance cheated. Because he used a bonus action to do Step of the Wind, he can't do Flurry of blows. So 2 of those attacks didn't happen.

Am I wrong, or did the actual end boss have exactly the same character justification as all the homebrew characters? Their life's purpose was to kill the wizard, which is exactly why these characters were created.

In 3rd edition I had a dm say this: Epic level, level 40. can use savage species, you have 10 mil gold for gear, and if it is not epic it is free. I spent a week crafting the brokenest character of my entire career. It was glorious!
One DM I played under let us go WAY beyond that for a few games...Epic 100 gestalt with additional points from the BESM D20/D20 Advanced Magic. It was pretty much late stage DragonBall Z mixed with some of the crazier comics Dr Strange stuff.
Linking black holes together as Bolas type stuff came shortly after it.
The bombs produce non-magical fire damage, if Sarah goes incorporeal before the bombs go off she won't take damage except from the fireball that she's probably out of range of.

I actually have a lot of homebrew rules for uber-high powerful characters because our group (in the late 80s) kept getting sick of starting new campaigns/characters when they reached a ceiling. I even have rules for playing gods and other immortals that I converted to my system of AD&D from the original D&D boxed sets (Immortal Set). This game sounds a lot like a FU campaign mission, the low levels. That was one of my regular gamer's little campaign in my homebrew multiverse. I played a Metadoppelganger Assassin and travelled with a Platinum WereDragon Wizard, a Psionicist (full-flesh) Lich, A Dry Bones Skeleton Fighter, a Bronze Dragon - Space Hamster hybrid (that was before there were official rules for space hamsters), a Satyr (son of Pan) Ranger, and a heavily modified Mechanical Golem Thief (Infiltrator kit). Oh, and one running gag was the skeleton fighter was not only a glass cannon... did sh^t loads of damage but got "killed" easy, he kept popping back up while always saying "I'm getting better". When he wasn't killed by something that could have killed him, one of the players said "Sh^t, Bones died again!" while he responded "I'm not dead yet." And yes, we stole and abused the h^ll out of that Monty Python schtick.
We would have loved to have done a real-life version of this gaming session with you. You just DM'd a FU camp game, the nostalgia brings a smile to my face. I know this skit was comical fiction, it was funny, but you should actually DM a game like that... it's fun as h^ll, like playing a Bugs Bunny type cartoon version of AD&D.
But... Key holes weren't bigger than one inch wide... (Yep, that's the problem I have with all this DMsguild homebrew nonsense. :D)

I said "the dew" at the exact same time as Sarah. She is my D&D Power Animal. That said, a monk with a Passive Perception of less than 25? I'm disappointed.
I've been trying to make a dr. Manhattan type race on d&d beyond, but keep deleting it because its too strong... even with some negative modifiers...

I played D&D back in the late 70’s. This is funny, but sounds like a boring game to play. I like the end where every players character dies. This was priceless. Now they need to throw those character sheets away and go roll a new set of stats. 1d4 hp if they want to be a wizard. Now try to fight the Efreeti!
