JJ, I was just going to add the same comment as you did I'm very proud of this kid, Most kids you can't get them out of the house let alone do a project like this.
I'm very proud of you to take on this project. You are so far ahead of kids your age. This is life and this is a skill you have now. Nice job keep it up
kid, you are the MAN! wish you were my nephew. While you rebuild engines, my nephew is crying like little buiscuit cause his girlfriend just dumped him.
You done pretty good son. A little advice you should always prime the oil system (there are videos on how to do this) that way your fresh rebuild doesn't start up dry. (When most wear occurs) and new cams have to be broken in using brake in lubricant and run about 1300 rpm app for about 20 minutes before idling the engine. (Roller cams don't have to be broken in) and never destroy the interference fit of the rocker arms adjusting nut to studs that's how the valve adjustment holes without a locknut. I'm proud of ya !! You did alright.
For future reference, seems the gold standard for the ends of the intake manifold is to use a thick bead of RTV rather than those cork gaskets. They can and surely will squeeze in or out over time and cause a leak. Gotta imagine you know that by now but just in case you didn't. Nice work dude!
Great job but DO NOT EVER INSTALL THE TORQUE CONVERTER TO THE FLYWHEEL FIRST! you must install it in the transmission first and make sure you turn it to get it aligned with your pump and shafts splines. You can reach the nuts just fine though the dust cover hole... in fact that's why it's there. Best of luck and hopefully you didn't mess anything up installing it like that.
Nice job but now way I'd ever put that torque convertor on first and try slide it in .I'd put torque on transmission to make sure it's properly seated me and my dumb luck would have to pull back apart to get the converter lined up.
Shoot man i have a 1990 F150 351w 4x4 5.8L im having rebuilt. Cant wait im 60 dont have garage space but i so wanted to DIY it but decided nope getr done then work on accessories on my own
Im excited had her over 30 yrs now great memories fishing hunting everyday use then regulated her to only fishing and camping time got overwhelmed by managing wifes car kids cars my truck suffered neglect now im praying gonna get her back strong nothing sounds like that beast of a 351w sounds so smooth and strong could always count on how tuff it was.
That oil pan you put in looks like it could be pulled without removing engine? Most I've seen have double humps seems like that one has one big reservoir instead of 2? Thanks
@@americanrebuilds2815 if you experience enough, u can weld a pop can with it ,but I'm not going to details. You for being so young did the awesome job.
You did a very good job there young man, your dad would be proud of you. I have a f250 with a 351 Windsor EFI can you tell me where the engine number is located it would be the same location as mine I think. Very hard to read. Mine is in Australia ex Ambulance right hand drive Canadian motor I think.
Ya so I have never worked on an automatic before so we ended up having to unbolt the transmission and slide back so we could fix it. We were able to unbolt the torque converter slide it on the transmission shaft the bolt the transmission back up. I didnt film it though.
Bravo. I’m impressed. I’m very impressed a young guy taking on this job with a can do attitude and getting it done.
Well done!

You know for a fact that old boy is grinning ear to ear while rebuilding that motor with the young blood
Makes me so proud🥲, our youth getting it in early. Within a few years, look out Chip foose, we have a new master builder at play.
Am i the only one who was shocked to see this guy,he looks 13.. great job 👏 its so nice to see young petrol heads growing
Hell of a job man! Just finished a top end rebuild on my 351w for my ‘89 bronco. I hope you love the truck and the memories with your dad!

I literally just replaced the harmonic balancer on my 1990 351 same exact thing happened I caught it in time so no damage thank the gods
Well done young Buck

Outstanding young buck ! Paint job was sweet Ford BLUE

I’ve got a 1970 bronco with a 302 V 8 and a 4 speed manual
Pretty cool dude 👍🏻

Good job on that sticker. That's a free 5 horsepower!
Oh ya that sticker was the key to everything
@@americanrebuilds2815 definitely! Hope you got the right torque specs for it.

unbelievably impressive
Nice job keeping a bronco alive, awesome vehicles I miss mine

Good job kid. You’re doing great!
Yessir good job bro, I got a 351 5.8 V8 I need to rebuild so honestly your vids gonna help me out Thanks!
Looking good buddy! I hope you continue doing this kind of thing👍
I would love to see more of this truck. Great work

Very nicely done I have a 89 bronco with the 302 I would like to upgrade with a 351
I have the old on sitting in my shop if you would like to buy it
esta chingon
Question? Will all of the cerpantine brackets, pulleys, harmonic from a 5.0 work on the 351w with a bigger belt? Thanks
I am really not sure I think they might but I couldn’t tell you
Was the original bronco engine have a roller cam in it?
That oil pan you put in looks like it could be pulled without removing engine? Most I've seen have double humps seems like that one has one big reservoir instead of 2? Thanks
No you can't get it out it's close but there isn't enough room
@@americanrebuilds2815 alright man appreciate it
You should use a tig welder on the aluminum cover. But over all you did the good job.👍
That's what we used but the metal was so thin and the power was so high is just blew right through

A couple questions. Did you use break in oil, and did you do a 20 minute cam break in?
I did use break in oil but I didn't do a 20 min cam break in
So now that it's had a little time on it how is the engine standing up?
The engine is running strong so much better than the old one
Good job dude
Good stuff. Did you have to set the torque converter on the transmission input shaft after bolting the transmission to the engine?

@@americanrebuilds2815 Doing more than me. This is a project I really want to do. Keep it up. Do you have other social media?
Not right now, but definitely going to keep working on new videos
This is very cool.
so...................how much to freshen up my 351w? No A/C or fuel injection on mine, just straight up the engine
About 1,000
@@americanrebuilds2815 cool. Whats your address? lol Good job.Good skills to learn :)
Yup good job young man! But next time put the torque converter on the transmission first then bolt it to the flex plate.
Yea thanks I learned that one the hard way
should have painted the plenum blue with white letters that would have been cool
That would have been cool but the plenum is aluminum so it's tricky to paint
@@americanrebuilds2815 using primer and a sonic cleaner works amazingly
8:22 you're forgetting the aluminium transmission dust shield...
8:31, there it is...
well done
Great video! Subbed! :)
U never install convert on engine always in trans first to many splines to line up
Bad audio
