Congrats on 2300 subs. I think an interesting video would be documenting where many of the ancient settlements even ones mentioned in the Bible actually sit in the geologic column and why are not all under thousands of feet of flood deposits?

Have you watched any of Henry Smith videos concerning the differences between the various OT texts. The Septuagint and Samaritan texts both designate significantly longer times after the flood that might alleviate some of the problems you cited. The climate change in that region seems to be significant and some YE scientists believe the cause is warm oceans and the ice age.
Have you listened to Tod Woods response to Gavin Ortlund? Since Gavin is listed in your list of references, I assume you somewhat agree with him. You list R. C. Sproul also, he vacillated in his view of the age of the earth, but at the end came to believe in the YE concept. Do you disagree and why? The Westminster confession affirms a young earth (creation in 6 days), do you disagree? As I stated previously, the PCA a sister Calvinist organization required elders to affirm a young earth at least in the 80’s, may have changed now. How do you mitigate these theological differences with the OPC?
Joel, have you found time to read Gijsbert van den Brink's Reformed faith and evolutionary theory? i'd be really interested to hear your review as a christian and professional in the field of natural sciences.
I've just finished it! Much to say about it. I will work it into some new videos and some things I'm writing. An important contribution. I really have to think about a few things that he proposes in the book that I had a skeptical response to but on the whole I found myself agreeing with much and really appreciated the tone of the book. Again, I've got to spend some time really thinking about some things that he said that I had never head said that way before, which was refreshing but also needs reflection.
@@DrJoelDuff yes there is a lot to unpack and digest there. it's one of the books that helped me keep my faith after affirming evolution (and of course the inner witness of the Holy Spirit as said in Rom 8: 16). i still struggle with natural evil, specifically death, sickness and suffering before the fall/sin related, I need more time to think about that.
maybe also, pretty please, make a video about the options for a flood that literally happened and is compatible with science, because i am ot sure if even a local flood is possible (and have all of mankind die, which is suggested in the text.)
on my new website I hope to finally write a position statement on this. But first I have to have a position:-) But seriously, this is an excellent request and yes I don't think a local flood that leaves only one family as a survivor makes sense but I agree that the latter is what Moses is intending his audience to understand.

@@DrJoelDuff You could tackle a couple of the proposals at a time, and leave others for later. For example, Mesopotamian regional flooods, proposed Black Sea flood, Zanclian flood, etc. Maybe also videos on the geology of uncontroversial floods.

As far as I can tell, you have never truly defined your belief on origins. Only criticism of YE positions. I look forward to the list of videos you have promised, I hope you describe your beliefs and why you believe them! I find your channel undermines Christian faith.
