You've done a huge service to the community with this. Your patience and thoroughness are amazing! I've been using this now for a few weeks, and its excellent, but your ultra deep dive into the menus will save a lot of time.....
Thank you so much for making these Full Manual Videos! You are a professional, you're the best at explaining these manuals on UA-cam and very thorough, I'm so grateful. They're extremally helpful, I find myself going back to them often. It made it an easier decision to buy this piece of gear knowing there is a clear helpful video manual to come back to. Thank you for the PERKONS manual also! I hope you can get around to doing an Analog Rhythm manual. Thanks again.
Thanks for making this! I got my LXR yesterday and even though I'd read the manual while waiting for it to arrive I thought it'd be fun and informative to sit down with it and work through your video with you. I was right! This thing is going to be a blast and I feel like I'm off to the races already. Thanks again!
My goodness, you are a superb teacher! Love your purple mat background. You simplify and clarify with great explanations. I will be using my LXR-02 in a much more sophisticated way now, thanks to you!
Great resource, I keep returning to this. Thanks so much. I do think it should be highlighted that the Ping Pong Delay only provides a stereo effect if the original dry sound is panned to a non-zero value. I struggled for ages with this thinking mine had a fault, only to find it stated on page 27 of the manual! I'm not aware of this being mentioned in any of the reviews.
the rolls need to go the 128ths, and there should also be per-pattern "scale", in other words a clock divider/multiplier so you can play/record from 1/8 speed to x2 speed, with even and odd multipliers (see the elektron model:cycles for an example).
If the manufacturer/developer is reading this, I have some feature requests: 1) faster roll/retrig. 2) the (thus far) unused steps 8-16 in performance mode being allocated to live clock divisions or live segment stuttering (e.g. repeat 12, 8, 4 or 2 steps). That's all. Other than those two things, it's a petty perfect bit of kit.
It's an understatement to say this video is extremely helpful - especially in the synth design parts and some of the sequencer nuances. Im fairly experienced with drum machines/synths so I kinda just jump into new gear and get going, but with the LXR02 the basics are very typical/simple but the machine's nuances/advanced features are located in odd places or function in odd ways. Hey there thanks for demoing the firmware update. I just got one myself and I’m having trouble with it. I can’t delete the v1.1 firmware or move any other firmware into the SD card. I was thinking about just buying another SD card and uploading the files to that. But wasn’t sure if it takes a specialized card? Any thoughts on what I could try? I reached out to Erica synths but waiting for a reply.
Hey that's weird! Something with your computer maybe? It's just an SD card, deleting and adding files should be no issue! But if you can't solve it you can absolutely use a new card. Any one should work.
@@QuincasMoreira thanks for the quick reply. I thought that too? Seems like it should be so simple. I did notice that the firmware on the SD card originates from a few days before the same version I got on Erica synths website. Going to try the old restart and try again trick. Otherwise probably buy another sd card.
Your video has convinced me to purchase the LXR-2. (new sub as well) Why? Your approach is SO helpful to understanding the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of gear - it's not about a single opinion or recommendation - with your videos, a purchase can be an informed decision. Thank you so much for what you provide!
another thing i think it should have is an "auto sync" mode where if external clock is set to be the master you should still be able to use the LXR's internal clock to audition patterns when external clock is stopped.

Would love it if the click could be isolated from the filter (i.e. an option that would chain it after filter) - being able to create longer toned sounds with blips that are almost a separate voice would be great as a sound design approach, but even more generally, the clicks are often inaudible/lose a lot of impact lower than about 70 on the filter, making them much less versatile.. By and large I'm loving this thing tho, thanks for the wicked run through.
