It's so interesting to hear my own accent analyzed. I'd never thought of it as "difficult" for anyone else (perhaps because I've spent my whole life in land-locked colorado? haha) It's cool! Thanks for these videos! :D

This is really funny for me just because I am from Maine, USA and I speak fluently in an 'american accent' so I never actually think about how we speak but for so many people, our accent is so difficult. Your's sounds pretty good! You should try speaking in a Maine accent because we change normal things by switching different r's with aye's randomly and it can actually be really funny just to try it. Overall I likes this series :)

I can't believe that as an English speaking American I watched this vid and was so amazed at how right she got it; in fact, I didn't know I was speaking that way before now. (Do us a favor and teach the overseas tech support people how to speak this way!) An American learning how to speak this way from a Brit, priceless. BTW is there a difference between Harvard and Yale?

I HAVE to agree with trainlvr12, I'm from Central Florida, and here people speak Standard American (except some people have a slight southern twang, and the more north you go the more people speak in a southern accent, haha) and since I'm American it's so interesting because we don't really think much of it, we just.. Speak! Its cool how our accent is hard to do, because I never thought of it that way :P I'm fascinated by English accents, could you do a series on that too (if you haven't already

Have you thought about using the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA)? I know it would difficult to learn if you don't know it already. It's like its own language but it might help our friends who aren't as familiar with with the Roman Alphabet (and IPAs are delicious). Just something to think about. Great work as always, Amy. :D

i noticed that with the "it is" American speech it's almost as if we say "id is" like in the word "idiot" "id iot" and "id is" just thought i'd point that out though I'm sure you already knew this! :) anyway love your video's and thanks for sharing your life with us! God bless! bye
