  • GLASGOW | A silent walk around the city of Glasgow, Scotland including George Square, Sauchiehall Street, Buchanan Street, Merchant City and more!
Also watch Edinburgh - • EDINBURGH ROYAL MILE F...
Where to start but right in the heart of it all! From global events to people watching, the historic George Square has been a focal point for the city for generations. Beautiful buildings line the square, none more majestic than the City Chambers. Take a peak inside and find Instagram-worthy interiors, including a marble staircase.
The streets Glasgow city centre are an attraction in their own right due to their architectural grandeur. Head in any direction from George Square and stumble upon one elegant street after another, each lined with some of the UK's best-preserved Victorian architecture.
Glasgow Merchant city is steeped in history and is home to some of the city's oldest sites, including the likes of the Tolbooth Steeple, a 17th century landmark.
Former warehouses, grand mansions from the 1700s and produce markets of the 1900s are enjoying new lives as some of the city’s best boutiques, galleries, arts hubs, independent bars and restaurants.
    Glasgow Shopping
From independent stores to high street retailers, Glasgow is the best shopping city.
Glasgow's city centre is home to flagship stores, impressive shopping centres and designer favourites all within an easily walkable area. The city is also rich in artists and creators which makes for a thriving and exciting independent shopping scene.
Glasgow is renowned for its shopping scene. The main pedestrianised street Buchanan Street, and surrounding streets, make up a square mile of fantastic shopping!
Buchanan Street is book-ended by St. Enoch Centre and Buchanan Galleries - huge malls housing the best high street brands. St. Enoch Centre is a family-friendly shopping and entertainment destination, while Buchanan Galleries is home to a range of shops from The Lego Store to John Lewis to the independent Scottish Design Exchange, where 100% of profits go directly to the local makers and creators of the products.
Nestled in the heart of Buchanan Street you’ll also find Princes Square, a speciality shopping mall that houses designer shops, restaurants, bars and a boutique cinema; the original House of Frasers store that has a history dating back to 1849; and Argyll Arcade, widely regarded as the finest jewellery centre in Scotland.
And it's not just the arts organisations who have taken up residence in former mansions. Exclusive retailers like Ralph Lauren, Emporio Armani and Cruise can be found on Ingram Street - a street that The New York Times described as 'confidently Glaswegian and instinctually international'. Off this thoroughfare, are some great little side streets, full of restaurants and bars. Check out Brunswick Street, Hutcheson Street, Miller Street, and the cobbled, fairy-lit Virginia Court, for some of the best city eateries, many of which have great outdoor spaces.
Glasgow is a port city on the River Clyde in Scotland's western Lowlands. It's famed for its Victorian and art nouveau architecture, a rich legacy of the city's 18th-20th-century prosperity due to trade and shipbuilding. Today it's a national cultural hub, home to institutions including the Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet and National Theatre of Scotland, as well as acclaimed museums and a thriving music scene.

Glasgow was the first city in Europe I really got to explore, during my first visit in December of 1995, and has been my favorite ever since. I took my husband there for his first visit in March of 2017 and he fell in love with it too. Yeah; Edinburgh will always be the "pretty" part of Scotland but to me, Glasgow will always be the "real" Scotland that tourists seem to discount. If it weren't so difficult to emigrate to the UK and set up residency, I would move there in a second! Thanks for the video!

a few streets missed out in this with some amazing buildings that are truly worth seeing in person , the scottish legal life assurance building on bothwell street the other building across from it on the corner of bothwell and west Campbell st. The bank of Scotland on st vincent street is one of my favs I love those columns just so impressive and its beautiful inside.
In fact that whole business district has some lovely architecture actually makes a n office job not too bad at least ye can look at nice buildings oot the windae. I love that brutalist looking fortress across from the Queen st station, apparently it was a sub surface vault for the banks of Glasgow city center. Glasgow has some of the best architecture in the world its nae wonder they film here more bang for yer buck.

World War Z was filmed in George square, infact the street the marchers were marching along was were at the start of the movie everyone began turning into Zombies, Brad Pitt driving along that street as it all kicked off.
Oh i met Charlie Sheen in George Square in the early 90's, he was filming some movie on that same street the marchers were on lol. Btw Charlie sheen was and probably still is a dickhead.

@@jamesbovington8218 I’m surprised you say that I think Leeds is far more attractive and interesting and safer! It’s also not so spread out.
Always seems to me there are loads of dull buildings in Glasgow with the shops in between too far apart from each other with to much traffic in the centre.
