Hi, I have been exploring Scotland for over forty years and cannae get enough🏴🏴🏴🏴👍. You have missed out so MANY wee gems, understandable as it takes many visits to explore BONNIE SCOTLAND. BTW LOCH LOMOND AND TROSSACHS NATIONAL PARK is in the Highlands?!. Inner&outer Hebrides, Shetland, Bute, WEE Cumbrae, Moray coast, the Borders&Dumfries &Galloway
I have probably seen more of Scotland than most Scotsmen. It is the most beautiful Country. I have done the NC500 3 times, 2 of them in mist. I have done Dunnet Head and JOG. If the Sun shines there is no better place. Do not go June, July or August, the Midges are relentless. I have yet to find a better road than the A82.
The clip of Edinburgh street at 1:30 is in Stirling, the street view of Stirling at 4:57 is Dublin, the drummers from 7:32 is not Inverness, 14:35 & 14:46 is not Aberdeen, 14:50 IS Aberdeen.
This is my great lovely hello from Oman to Scotland. Special hello to Perth and all Scottish people lovely and friendly people. I hope to visit it again. My best wishes for all.
I have never been to Scotland. What a beautiful country with a rich heritage and cultural history!! Thanks for a great tour of the beautiful cities of Scotland!! I subscribed to your channel !!
Hmmm…at about 4:41 you show a caber toss. That picture is from the Scottish Fest at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, California USA. It’s a great festival which we attend every year.
We've lived in Scotland for the past 25 years and enjoy it immensely. You can have several seasons or climates in a single day over the vast sweep of the highland area where we stay. The day may begin with a springlike rain and mist, progress to sunshine and a hot summery afternoon, and end in a star-filled sky and evening around the woodburner that feels like winter's on the way. We began living in Fife at St. Andrews, moved to Edinburgh for the years my children were at university and retired to a village in Perthshire. All hugely interesting historically and truly beautiful, each in its own way. The scenery and wildlife are magnificent. The people are friendly with a great sense of humour and they love to celebrate at the drop of a hat. The only downside is that, if you aren't from here, you'll never be "Scottish" and will remain forever an outsider at some level. That we've yet to overcome and the precedents aren't good. Even so, I've no regrets and believe we picked a country where I'll be happy to live indefinitely.
This is strange, I lived in Northern Highland and am about to return home. We were always accepted as ‘locals’ as we embraced the Highland life 101%. I’m English by birth.
I know Scots who had problems moving from Edinburgh to the Isle of Mull and were never accepted. It somewhat depends on how rural the situation. More rural -- more closed. And, they were looked on as "a class above" in a society that's so strongly hierarchical. It also depends on what you're "embracing" as Highland life. If I were to jump into the drinks culture that would probably be another story. But I don't drink.
Right - I love Dundee as it's my home city, but I would not put it in the top 4 places in Scotland haha. I definitely would not put it above the highlands, edinburgh and glasgow haha. In my opinion, the top places are Glencoe, loch lomond and the trossachs (you can give stirling a miss), Cairngorms, and anywhere on the west coast. If you want see the real Scotland, avoid the big cities.
My wife and I both love Scotland, have visited there from Texas three times since 2019. Our first visit was well aided with the Explorer Pass from Historic Scotland (we bought ours at Edinburg Castle). It showed us many "off the beaten path" attractions to seek out. One of them was Bonawe Iron Works. Ironically, there were castle ruins that moved us more than Edinburgh Castle. Particularly, Urquardt Castle. Clava Cairns, which is close to Inverness, was also quite amazing. The historical abbey at Iona was magnificient, as was another stop on the same tour to see puffins on a high cliff. All of this was initiated from departing from Oban on a boat. Oban was wonderful to see, especially the Nori's Fish and Chips, and the gift shop at the Oban distillery. I hope we go back to Scotland soon. Like another person said, the Isle of Skye is staggering in its beauty. I could go on and on as I am reminded, and I have not seen a huge part of Scotland yet.
I've been to Scotland four times....We love the country.....I've been to all of the places you mentioned except Inverness, Aberdeen, Isle of Arran and Orkney Island....Some other small towns to visit are North Berwick beautiful coastal town with a golf course right on the coast and the Scottish Seabird Centre....The coastal town of Dunbar that is the hometown of John Muir and has a museum there honoring his work....The Melrose and Tweedank area...In Melrose you have the historic Melrose Abbey and at Tweedbank you have Sir Walter Scott's estate Abbottsford...Perth is a another nice visit you have Scone Palace and the Black Watch Tower Museum..

As an American that just found out that I have a lot of Scottish English and Irish DNA can you become a citizen of Scotland based on the amount of DNA you have?
No, you cannot become a citizen of Scotland based solely on the amount of Scottish DNA you have. Citizenship and residency requirements are typically based on legal and residency criteria rather than genetic or ancestral heritage. Scotland is part of the United Kingdom, so citizenship processes and rights would fall under UK immigration rules. These rules typically consider factors like birthright, long-term residency, marriage to a UK citizen, and other legal pathways. However, having Scottish ancestry could potentially aid in obtaining a UK Ancestry Visa, but specific criteria must be met. For example, one of the requirements for this visa is that you must have a grandparent who was born in the UK. If you're interested in living, working, or becoming a citizen in Scotland (or anywhere in the UK), it's essential to consult the official immigration and visa guidelines or seek advice from an immigration attorney.
The last video I watched put Orkney at the very bottom. I want to go there & the Hebrides & all the other prehistoric places first, but I think I’m only ever going to be an armchair archaeologist! Erica❤
@@sandersson2813 I’m not saying literally. The climate, the landscape and some of the architecture. I found Scottish people are more mellow and not so much in your face like poms or Irish. A Swede will apreciate that. 👍
I honestly didn't think about that...it's def a good suggestion. I'm American and am not a fan of Americanization of any culture as rich as Scottish or Brittish...I appreciate your feedback, Thanks for watching!

I would like to visit Scotland after watching this wonderful video. But I don`t know if it is possible, as I am from Ukraine.
I hope you get a chance to visit one day! Thanks for watching!
@@WanderingWithPurpose oh ok good to know.
You also have to learn Gaelic.
The last video I watched put Orkney at the very bottom. I want to go there & the Hebrides & all the other prehistoric places first, but I think I’m only ever going to be an armchair archaeologist! Erica❤
Why show Skye when taking about the Highlands?
!!!!!!!!!!!
Why did you display Glenfiddich while talking abt Heighland park and scape.?
My apologies, it was just a general example clip...I'll be more careful with small details like this in the future. Thanks for the feedback!
Scotland is almost like a Scandinavian country but stuck with England I feel
Thanks for watching 😊
As a Scot who lives in Scandinavia, I can assure you that Scotland and Scottish people are NOTHING like Scandinavia.
True Robin.
@@duncancallum it really isn't true. In what way is Scotland similar to Scandinavia?
@@sandersson2813 I’m not saying literally. The climate, the landscape and some of the architecture. I found Scottish people are more mellow and not so much in your face like poms or Irish. A Swede will apreciate that. 👍
Skye on the list? Incomplete list
I'll be sure to include that in my next Scotland Video! Thanks for watching 😊🙌
Can u say me the name of this voiceover
send me an email merchantlane@hotmail.com
"Gaylic" in Ireland, "Gahlic" in Scotland.
Thanks for that!
Hello
Hello!
way
I would say the order of importance should be reversed, ie Edinburgh first and Orkney last
Music is too loud hard to hear her!
Music is rly annoying I can barely concentrate on the content
I'm sorry you feel that way....but I'll definetely consider that in my next videos. Thanks for watching 💕
Number 10 Edinburgh. The first picture is Glasgow University. Believe me, Glasgow is not in Edinburgh. 🤣🤣🤣
I'd love to go to Scotland and stay in Nicola Sturgeons camper van! But obviously not with her in it.
LOL 😂
aye, she's a farter haha
Better off bunking with Susan Boyle.
Why an Amercan komentator? I expect a scottish voice or at least an English one. Whats all this Americanizing of everything British.
I honestly didn't think about that...it's def a good suggestion. I'm American and am not a fan of Americanization of any culture as rich as Scottish or Brittish...I appreciate your feedback, Thanks for watching!
Nonsense.
From the nonsense on your video I’m not sure you have ever been to Scotland and I’m only four minutes in so decided to pass on the rest.
I thonk Scotland is massively overrated.
Its not THAT beautiful, and like a lot of countries, it is largely completely unremarkable.
Thanks for your honest opinion 💕
Scott Lind is da kulist kid in the world
Thank you a lot! Very interesring and picturesque!
Many thanks!
