I would love to be able to find the wallabies. I did not realise they are so chilled. The Curragh is a great place and I must visit soon. Such a privilege to have these places to visit and not another soul about which is what I love. Thanks for sharing James.
Great to see a few wild Aussies ;-) Another great video James and, yes, wildlife is challenging in a different way from landscape. Well done! I also love the attitude to 'embrace the chaos' - worked well.
Just watched this after scouting out a similar looking woodland area to work in later. It is quite daunting when a location is so busy, but you did well with the shot at 9:07. Nice b roll too!
Cheers Ian! Yeah totally agree. Some mist just sitting over the swamps surface would be perfect. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the right conditions and maybe return for that
Hello down under ? The swamp is out of the box experience ! It's a very diverse planet we live in. The very thick bogs in Canada are very hard to navigate too and very similar...thanks for sharing ! Great video !
Ah, what a surprise to find Wallabies. This looks like a good site for macro work - maybe lots of insects and also perhaps lots of birds in an environment that contains water, trees, plant etc. I loved that first Wallaby shot.
Thanks Scott! Glad you like that shot. I wasn't too sure about it but I think it's the best I could manage in the incredibly busy environment. A really challenging location but was great fun filming this
Nice shot of the Wallabies, cute little fellows. I know what you mean about shooting in the "jungle" that is all I have to shoot at. Living in the forest can be a real challenge for a landscape enthusiast.Nice work.
Oh my god ....I've been to the IOM many times ( avid TT fan) but never managed to get to the Curraghs but you've convinced me its well worth a visit when I'm next over . Fabulous footage of the Wallabies , pretty amazing how they've adapted ! Thanks James , really enjoyed this vid :-)
Thank you Lynne! Great to hear you are a fan of the IOM TT. Not too long to go now until the bikes are back. Next time you are over let me know. I'd be happy to show you some locations which are a little bit of the beaten track 👍
What a brilliant video, James! And an interesting bit of fact I never would have known about what is undeniably the Northernmost population of "wild" wallabies! Well done!
Looks like you really enjoyed photographing those wallabies! I'm trying to do more wildlife photography myself, completely different challenge to landscapes but it's really good to step out of your comfort zone from time to time and I really enjoy it! Great picture of the ivy on the tree, really liked that one! Sam.
We have just come back from an IOM Break, we went Wallaby spotting in the Curraghs, we spent two hours wandering and sitting quietly. After about an hour and a half we came across one, brilliant! Five minutes later we "found" another. They are really hard to see even on the photos we took, but, mission accomplished!!!
How cool! I've never seen these little creatures. Really neat story. I feel like in this video you tell the story so well and the background noise also compliments the entire video very well. The audio was a captured so well. I agree with you not as easy location to photograph. There's a lot going on everywhere. Great detail and overall sharpness in those images. Well done. Cheers.
Nice vlog James kind of reminds me of Wistemans woods, which is also a nightmare to find a composition among the chaos.. Never new there were wild Wallabies in the UK, thanks for sharing.. if I'm ever on the island will be sure to go looking for them..
Photographing Wallabies looks like fun, their cute. In a dense swamp like the one your in, you might think about macro or close up shots of textures, patterns, moss, liken, or put a PL filter on and shoot the water.
James - I really enjoyed this. Here in Wisconsin there is a lot of marshy country and I am often driven to find compositions of a more intimate and less grand nature. The wallabies are a truly interesting and unique story. I only wish you could have lapsed into an Australian accent for a moment (joking of course). Really well done and I liked the compositions! Best, Dave
I'm glad I found this video! I live in Louisiana, USA, and we have lots of swamp / marsh land. Even our non-swamp areas are very visually busy and difficult to shoot. I've looked at small scenes since that's about all you can shoot (but I want the big vistas...grrr! 🙂). A few shots of cypress trees goes a LONG way... Anyway, great video!
Hahaha.. the poop shot. We are in Banff Nat'l Park right now and one of the days the weather didn't turn out at all, ended up photographing the birds flying around so I totally agree with you...sometimes it's nice to do something different
Fair play mate, I wouldn’t have even attempted shooting there. Overwhelming would have been my immediate reaction, but I suppose if you can train the eye there are nice shots to be had. I’m not quite there yet.
Thanks Darren! Yeah it was a massive challenge. Not a place for conventional landscape shooting. I really had to push myself out of my comfort zone for this. I'm not totally sure I got worth while shots but it's the best I could manage. An enjoyable day though :-)
LOVE the close up of that lichen. Great video.
Thank you Tammy :-)

thats a funny thing to photograph them... its good to get out your zone...
Definitely Paul - always good to try different stuff
Great to see a few wild Aussies ;-) Another great video James and, yes, wildlife is challenging in a different way from landscape. Well done! I also love the attitude to 'embrace the chaos' - worked well.
Thanks Ian! Much appreciated
Just watched this after scouting out a similar looking woodland area to work in later. It is quite daunting when a location is so busy, but you did well with the shot at 9:07. Nice b roll too!
Thank you Craig :-)
Wallabies how cool, another great vlog james. I reckon that swamp might be pretty good with some foggy conditions. 👍
Cheers Ian! Yeah totally agree. Some mist just sitting over the swamps surface would be perfect. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the right conditions and maybe return for that
Now this is my kinda spot. What a location! you came back with some nice images mate! And wallabies? hehe, bizarre indeed.
Thanks very much! Yeah totally weird isn't it. Definitely the kind of place I could return to over and over again
The Wallabies looked pretty neat to photograph, very interesting mate.
Thanks very much 👍
Enjoyed the video, a very unusual story! You got some nice shots too.
Thank you Wayne :-)

Thank you Marc 😀
Great behind the scenes James. Very impressed, you're a natural for this type of landscape vlogging. Keep up the great work!
Thanks James - what you don't see are the other 10,000 takes 😂
Ah, what a surprise to find Wallabies. This looks like a good site for macro work - maybe lots of insects and also perhaps lots of birds in an environment that contains water, trees, plant etc. I loved that first Wallaby shot.
Thanks Brenda! Totally. I think there are very good macro opportunities aplenty there. Less landscape opportunities but a good challenge :-)
First time I see that animals, it's exciting. Great pictures😍
Thank you very much Nastasia 👍
Amazing shots James! Great shots of the Wallabies but I also love your shot at 9:10 Nice leading lines into the chaos!!
Thanks Scott! Glad you like that shot. I wasn't too sure about it but I think it's the best I could manage in the incredibly busy environment. A really challenging location but was great fun filming this

Thanks! ☺️ Yeah woodland photography is almost a niche all of its own. So difficult and requires a different eye to standard landscape shooting
Great vlog again James! I like others thought you were joking about Wallabies. Keep pushing those boundaries 😃
Thanks Colin - really appreciate it 👍

Great video, I had no idea there were wallabies there. You managed some great images in the chaos.
Thanks Ralph! It's a very quirky thing but I thought it would be fun to share with everyone haha
What a brilliant video, James! And an interesting bit of fact I never would have known about what is undeniably the Northernmost population of "wild" wallabies! Well done!
Thanks Brian! Glad you enjoyed it
Wow, never knew there were wallabies here. Amazing video
Thank you! 👍 Really appreciate it
Great video and images James.
Thanks Jim!

Cheers Sam! That's my favourite as well. Very nearly walked right past it. So easily missed

Thanks Diego! Really appreciate it. Time to put Isle of Man Wallabies onto your photography bucket list hahaha
Nice vlog James kind of reminds me of Wistemans woods, which is also a nightmare to find a composition among the chaos..

Thanks! If you're ever on the island let me know and I can show you round :-)

Yeah I used to own a macro lens - would have come into it's own in this environment for sure! One for the future 😀

Thanks David! Really appreciate it. I missed a trick with the Australian accent didn't I haha
Wow Wallabees on the Isle of Man thats crazy! Nice images thanks for sharing :D Teddy

Thanks ☺️

Just for that opening line!! You got a thumbs up. 😂
Thanks very much! Hahaha
James Brew I nearly spat my brew out. Really enjoyed this James, brill
Hahaha - not surprised! It's a bit weird 😂 Cheers
That’s so crazy haha . I would’ve never guessed that there would be wallabies in Isle of Man.
World famous Isle of man Wallabies haha!
Hahaha.. the poop shot. We are in Banff Nat'l Park right now and one of the days the weather didn't turn out at all, ended up photographing the birds flying around so I totally agree with you...sometimes it's nice to do something different
Absolutely! Variety keeps it interesting and pushes your boundaries :-)
I love living here. I saw 14 wallabies yesterday
Fair play mate, I wouldn’t have even attempted shooting there. Overwhelming would have been my immediate reaction, but I suppose if you can train the eye there are nice shots to be had. I’m not quite there yet.

Didn't know you can do a safari on the Isle of Man :P
Haha this little island is full of surprises
When I read the title I thought you'd decided to do a piss-take vlog! haha
Haha yeah I can totally understand why! Pretty weird isn't it!?
Its mad! Enjoyed it though :)
3:02 .... K9
Probably! haha
Imagine seeing these after a drink, big bunnies, "were they pink" asked the policeman?
Haha! 😂
You got your D850 back? Would like to see a video of you receiving your repaired D850 and discuss your experience.
Yes received it back successfully - good service all round :-)
Regarding the landscape shots maybe the sky is too distracting. However what about a tight crop over your right shoulder at 11 50?
Nice idea John! One to return for 👍
I thought you were joking.... Walllabies... okay.
Haha yeah pretty unbelievable
