- Every now and then we get those incredible landscape photography days where conditions align to deliver photography experiences that live long in the memory. The Isle of Man has recently experienced absolutely other worldly misty conditions which have enveloped the island and delivered extrodinary photography conditions. Join me from sunrise to sunset on one of the best landscape photography days I've ever experienced. Thanks for watching and all the best for 2022 everyone :-)

Simply magical! Simply mesmerising photography!!! 👏👏👏
Breathtaking
Wow James, you weren’t kidding ! Spectacular shots !! Keep them coming!! Thanks for sharing.
Amazing photos! What a day. Thanks for sharing the adventure with us
Pfff, wow… that would be my “once in a lifetimeshot”. Beautiful.
Outstanding James, bloody outstanding!
Awesome you could not ask for any better conditions, beautiful well shot images too James ,,,,,,Bri
Fantastic video,stunning captures. I really you videos.😊👍
Absolutely awestruck James. That Z7 takes amazing images....
What a great video fab pictures.
Great shots, and those time lapses at the end were amazing too!
FAB shots and conditions. thanks for uploading...
James - what a wild day. With a spectacular end! (Tripod head not withstanding!) It’s great to see you get a little silly excited about conditions.
Amazing weather, superb light! Glad you could use best of it!
Thanks for watching
Incredible scene from top, wow what an awesome pano.
Cheers 🙂
Awesome mate. Some stunning conditions 👍
Cheers Craig
Stunning
I was like. Man, stop talking and shoot it 😊
You got it. Excellent photos. Well done.
WOW!I gust discovered your channel and I’m so glad I did!
Happy New Year to you and your family James. I hope you have a wonderful and prosperous year ahead.
So pleased you vlog'd this James, fantastic pictures and timelapse's, love your enthusiasm too, sorry about your tripod head, hopefully Benro will see this and sort you out... come on Benro👍🏼
Thanks! That would be nice - come on Benro! 😂
Some very nice shots there James, well done.
Thank you 🙏
well done ..super stuff.
Great work James. Your video's are always enjoyable and informative. Thank you.
Fantastic views, stunning video 👌
Thank you
Excellent video James.
Hi
Thank you for the videos and the whole YT channel. I've been doing photography for a year. Before that, it was computer graphics for years. I really like your channel and it is very useful for me. Great tips and beautiful views. What could be better than nature and a beautiful view. And only you are there. Cool.
I salute you and wish you great shots.
Breathtaking scenes 🤩
Just… mighty, James. Lucky but you deserved the luck!
Stunning video as always mate. The radio interference adds more mystery to the video haha. I loved the picture of the tree and those clouds, what a view. I envy you haha.
Absolutely beautiful, great work. This my second clip I’ve watched of yours and I’ve now subscribed. Keep it up 👍🏻
I enjoy the way you approach your subjects and also your multitasking ability to shoot stills, narrate and record on video at the same time (when you have your ball head). Thermal inversions are quite common in winter here in the South Okanagan valley of British Columbia, and I seize the opportunity to shoot them whenever I can. I'm so looking forward to capturing them with my new Z 14-30 f/4, which you so highly recommended and which should arrive any day now.
Well done for capturing this epic special day so expertly. Hope you find your tripod head.
Cheers Martin! Tripod Head is gone forever sadly 😢
Amazing video James and great set of images well done
I've never seen anything quite like that in my life before! That's absolutely astounding!
James - You might consider replacing your ballhead with a fluid head. I just got the Manfrotto MVH500AH, along with an Oben levelling base, Fotoconoic quick release clamp, and nodal rail -- all for
Thank you for making this video. That timelapse of the sunset spectacle was simply stunning! 😄
Thank you 🙏
Thank you for the inspiration amazing content
Thanks for watching
Just awesome. Admire you having the self control to fit in the vlog, time-lapse and stills- with those conditions you could so easily have just got wrapped up in grabbing all the still's and missed out on everything else. Thanks for sharing
Cheers Trevor! It is a delicate balancing act trying to shoot video whilst capturing the images. Very difficult to get the balance right. Hopefully I got it just about right
Beautiful foggy image with the tree, great way to conclude the year 👏
You lucky bastard :)
Awesome... serenity vibes 🌼
Just ordered the Sony a7IV to get into landscape photography. And binging photography vlogs. Caught this at the perfect time. Loved it!
Gorgeous location spectacular scenery. Lovely work James happy hols.
James a fantastic film and outrageously beautiful scenery, as you said it was very, very special indeed. Hope you have a fab Xmas and that 2022 brings everything you wish for. Stay safe, all the very best, tony.
Fantastic images all the way through this video, but the mesmerising scene of mist/fog timelapse at the end blew me away! I can only just grasp how you must have been feeling actuallty standing there! The scene that you filmed with the wider shot of the trees, stone wall and pathway, I thought that was a deserving scene in it's entirety, as well as the smaller scenes which you showed us. Thanks for sharing, have a safe, and rewarding 2022 , looking forward to seeing more from you.
Thanks Ian, appreciate your kind comments - all the best for 2022
Especially the film-sequence from 14:07 and on was fantastic. Congratulations to be on right place at right time. Tumbs up! 👍
What a cracking couple of panorama images! Looks like you had an amazing opportunity and patently made the most of it. Nice shots, James.
beautiful day, fantastic images, well done
So much beauty packed into one video. Thank you!
At first, I actually thought you were off-island until I saw the "2,036 FEET HIGH" painted on the building. The only word I can think of is "beautiful".
2036 Feet High 😂 The Isle of Man's Mt Everest! Thank you
@@JamesBrewphoto Indeed :-) ... unlike the one in Nepal, I have "climbed" the Manx Everest.
Last Saturday was amazing. Coast to coast across Central Scotland. Like you, up to high ground for dawn, missed the first shot I went for by ten minutes or so as I'm not as fast as I used to be uphill but made up for by the islands of mountaintops in the mist under a clear blue sky; home for lunch and then back out for misty trees and waterfalls in the afternoon.
Great sunset shots; kind of wish I'd chosen to do a sunset above the mist as well but you can't be everywhere at once.
If you don't have a threaded hole for a anti loosen screw in the top piece that your tripod head mounts to, you should put a drop of removable loctite on the threads for your new tripod head. Nice conditions. On my screen, once you get past the clouds around the mountains, it just looks like a frozen tundra.
Nice tip! Thanks for watching 👍
Awesome - we were watching the same sunset from the Lake District looking out to the Isle of Man! Incredible day
James what beautiful way to end the year and your vlogs for this year also, outstanding scenery, just superb!
All the best for 2022 and look forward to your next posting.👍👍👍
What a fantastic way to end a year, really something special. Superb images and footage as always James. A safe and Happy New year for 2022.
Fabulous conditions James, a photographers dream 😱. Gorgeous shots captured as a reminder of an amazing day.
Your excitement and enthusiasm had me smiling all the way through this vlog, thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks for watching Claire - all the best for 2022
Stunning conditions, lovely shots. I was thinking take the shots and talk to us after 😂 I’d have probably done 3 laps of that mountain like a headless chicken. Looks like you stayed in the perfect spot 👍
Truly inspiring. I’m sure it must interfere a bit with your photography but, please, keep making your vids. Best wishes for the new year!
Gosh James, breathing taken images. What a great experience...hope all is well. Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks Cesar! All the best for 2022
Not much to say James other than It would be possibly worth retracing your hike to search for your ballhead. Those images are what it takes to relieve the burnout. The misty tree is Simon Baker-esque. The panos are both portfolio shots. Full stop. You made my day. Thank you.
Thank you James! Glad you liked the video. Sadly the tripod head is gone forever - couldn't find it. Will have to get a replacement at some point, it's not my main head thankfully. All the best for 2022!
Thanks James for sharing these astonishing pictures. Even before you lost the ball head, I feel sorry for that, I wondered where you left the geared head? It was your enthousiasm that did me buy one and I still love it. So why use a B2 instead? I'm looking forward to your adventures in 2022. Have a great and healthy year.
Thank you. The geared head is still my main tripod head. However when I want to travel lighter I do use a smaller secondary tripod with the Benro G2 attached. The geared tripod head is way better though, so don't worry you'll be seeing plenty more of it. All the best for 2022
Topside post and images, James.👍 Part of “special” is “sometimes” - did you weather plan the inversion? How long did it last and how often do they occur there? Pano w/sunset a super image - would have been even better w/off-center sun, IMO. Didn’t get the reference to radio interference at summit (prob w/your gear?). Looks like you lost weight. Is rail line in vid still active - wouldn’t want your gear to be run over by a train😀.
Common James, how does one “lose” a valued and often used tripod head - perhaps it is still back home.
Expected to see Misty in the mist😁. Have a great New Year, James! Cheers!🎉
Thanks Paul. The inversion lasted 2 days. I completely missed the first day as I just assumed it was a typical grey day, it was only when I checked online that I saw the high ground provided views out over the mist. Therefore I set out the next morning with the hope the conditions would be the same, luckily they were! We get misty conditions like that maybe 4 or 5 days a year but this particular showing was one of the best I've ever seen. There are radio transmission towers at the top of the mountain. My camera picks up the radio in my recordings, If you listen back you'll hear it in some of the b-roll. Tripod head is gone forever unfortunately, looks like it fell off without my realising at some point on the mountain - annoying but just one of those things. All the best for 2022! 🙂
:)
Hi James, wonderful mood and fantastic photos. I have one question. why do you take photos with the 24-70 f4 when you have the 24-70 f2.8?
Greetings from Germany 😉🙋♂
Thank you! I don't own the 24-70 2.8 😂
Love the vlog, as always, but the pedant in me (I can't help myself) has to say that there's no such thing as a cloud inversion. It's a temperature inversion. I know, I should seek professional help :-)
What happened to your Benro geared head James ??
Still have it
You didn't show us that last shot!
Which last shot? I showed all images in the video
@@JamesBrewphoto The last shot you talked about but didn't show.
Temperature inversion?
Are they not the same thing?
Did you ever find your ball head ?
No 😢
Clouds do not fckn invert.
