I bought my SE 24-08 Standard earlier this year. It’s phenomenal and offers incredible versatility. The clarity of the pickups are amazing and do everything from impeccable cleans to bone-crushing gain. Can’t wait to get my hands on the SE CE that just came out! Great job PRS!

PRS have found the perfect formula in their guitars. Especially the SE series. I bought a DGT SE 2 months ago and been playing every day with it. Next will buy a 594.

Yes 24 frets not 22 just a minor detail but ud think they would check the video before posting.
Ive owned 3 prs se guitars, a Santana, a custom 24 and currently a custom 22 with f hole. All played and looked great. The issue ive had with all of them is the strings binding at the nut on the B G strings. Ive tried filing the nut grooves slightly wider for my 010-046 strings and using graphite dry lube. Its helped for a few days. Now i have the tremelo claw screwed all the in so no more whammying. I guess i can live with that. I do lots of big bends and once i get it it tune. It hold tune fairly well now. I have very cheap guitars that have no issues with tuning or binding at the nut or going out of tune with the whammy. PRS please look into this issue. I know it just a student edition but still fairly pricey guitars and it shouldnt have this issue. Thats my only gripe. The nut is a very important part of a guitar. Should use a better nut marerial and cut the slots to except larger strings. Plastic nut no good.

I got my 2408 last April! I find myself playing it more than my Les Pauls and ES 335! Yes in a side by side comparison with a core you can tell a difference but the fit, finish, and playability make it a bargain for the price! Paul and Jack are both genius! Thanks for producing these SE models!

The guys (Baxter and Johnathan) at Casino Guitars just released a video explaining the situation with PRS Guitars. It looks like market saturation is taking it's toll on the SE lines and the result is definitely in our favor! That Swamp Ash Special and McCarty 594 are calling my name!

Hey PRS, sorry to point something out. Love the guitar, but you seem to write PRS SE CE 24 on the description instead of the custom 24-08. Might need to revise that a little bit. Love everything else! One day I'll grab this awesome guitar.

  • @yonisapir6270

Kind of a dumb question maybe but I'm genuinely curious. Can this guitar handle heavy metal (think Pantera) and can you do a dive bomb with that whammy bar?

Thank you PRS for releasing this color!!! Mine is on the way! BIG shoot-out to Alex of Sweetwater!!! PRS should do this color on PRS SE Santana. Nobody wants anymore the Santana Yellow Color. I really wanted to have a PRS SE Santana, but it just happen I don't like the yellow color! Come on PRS, PLEASE CHANGE THE COLOR OF PRS SE SANTANA with this color!

Bryan-Love the review (as always), but I must tell you that you made a faux Pa in your description. There are twenty-four frets…not twenty-two as you reported. You can always tell by the owl on the twenty-fourth fret! 😊
    OK…now what do I win? Come on…at least a t-shirt! 😊

  • @tonys2189

Sorry to say I bought this model (in a different color) and I have nightmares with the nut, it's not the same width as the fredboard so I'm always hitting the wood when I play, plus the edge is razor sharp so after a month playing I don't want to play it any more because I have scratches in my left hand that are painful when I play and slightly touch the nut when I do an open chord.
I also had an standard 24-08 which returned for the same reason. I think PRS should be more careful with the nuts in their SE line.

I have a 35th anniversary Custom 24 SE with the mini toggles and they're way too stiff to switch in the middle of a song. This guitar would be so awesome if they weren't so dang hard to flick easily. It's great as it is, don't get me wrong, but the gimmick is only useful between songs.

For 2024 please consider removing "se" from the headstock. I love my se guitars but its not necessary and sadely still just bugs me to see it there. With the build location on the back, the different carves than core and the ability to put se on the back of the guitar, lets consider another location. We all love a core or an se, but if you just can't part with the cash responsibly there's no reason to have have.the reminder everytime you pick upthe instrument. Just my thoughts. Keeps up the great work PRS. Your number one in my book!

I’m with you on this. Or at least shrink the size of the SE (or just move that to the back). Also, most of the SE’s are nice enough that it’s a bit of a misnomer to call them “student editions”. Then again, I’ve been playing for decades and most of the fun is that the opportunity to learn is endless.

  • @jasonyltan7672

Not sure if I’ve ever heard a guitar (any guitar in any price point) that sounded good in either split, tapped or parallel EVER. These sound and look like any other SEs in the range which has now ballooned significantly. PRS is in danger of homogenising their line and there is very minimal differentiation in the SE line.

Have to agree. Regardless of the series numbers I see them all the same in the DC /SE line. Need some offsets as well as pickup combos being hums with switching variations.

I really hope PRS will consider using more solid color finishes in the SE product line. It would give more savings to the customer and I feel that the veneer look is overdone (and not that exciting). Many of these colors stand out way too much for the average student and gigging musician. There's a reason why fenders in solid white, black, light blue and red sell very well...

I can’t help but think (as a PRS fan and SE owner) that you guys are watering down your brand with all of these SE models. The secondary market is now flooded with them and PRS no longer ‘means’ PRS. Just my 2c.

You mean PRS - guitars for rich snobs? Oh, someone's complaining because their $5K PRS is losing on value. For me it's very good that there are more new SE guitars. Let PRS guitars finally be available at fair prices.
Harley Benton CST-24 is still the best anyway.

    • @Douglas_I

My ce24 is now $2549 and they released the se ce24 for $569 that is absolutely beautiful! I can't find a $400 dollar difference between them, let alone almost 2 grand! I would never get a core ce24 now! Maybe they're going to discontinue the core....
On another note, how hard did those prs tele models flop though lol!? What an ignorant price!
