Hi Jon, thanks for the review, I have a Paul's guitar on order; tough choice between that and the 24 - 08. And by the way, I gotta say, your playing is absolutely fantastic. Much respect
Bought this exact color and model yesterday! Partially thanks to Jon’s demo! I play praise & worship and a lot of mixed genres outside of church and wanted something super versatile that can be my go to standard tuning guitar. Gonna put my hardtail Harley Benton in some drop tunings now!
Awesome playing, awesome sounds and demo! I've got my Vintage Sunburst 24-08 coming in later this week! I'm so stoked to finally own a PRS. Forget the fact that they seldom make lefty guitars - I'm just happy I don't have to break the bank for a product that, across a lot of other videos like this, has had nothing but great things said about it. I've always been a 22 fret, Strat & Les Paul player for years. My Schecter Johnston S-style is basically everything I personally want from a strat aesthetically and tonally, and you can't really go wrong with what a Traditional Gibson LP brings to the table. 24 frets and being the "middle ground" between those two camps is gonna be fun territory to venture into.
I stepped up recently from my Harley Benton CST-24 T, I still love the guitar but, the PRS is just better all the way around from tone to the bridge, which stays in tune. I changed out both guitars with locking tuners, and the PRS still does a better job and the tones are much cleaner and articulate. The CST-24 T is no slotch as well, I believe it is much better for heavy rock or metal, it is a bit to hot and can be muddly from time to time. If I was a beginner I would not hesitate to get the CST-24 T it will serve for most everyone for a long time. I needed more versatility so I got a PSR Custom SE 24-08. It is a dream come true, I just feel so comfortable with the wide thin neck. Thanks for the review, I am very pleased with my new PRS.
Have had my one for a while, and am liking it more each day! Plays like a dream, no buzz or rattles anywhere on the fretboard. Looks incredible with maple veneer cap too. Am really loving the voicing of the pickups. This guitar covers a lot of ground sonically, switching system is easy to learn.
I almost bought one back in August. I know you like the pickups but hypothetically, if you ever wanted to try something different, what would you throw in there?
@@finishin.my.coffee8780 If I really had to replace them, I would put a set of Seymour Duncan 59's in it. Not that it would need it, but it would make it sing more.
@@monkymonk6 They're nice. I had a set in an Epiphone about 20 years ago. My only gripe was that I wished the bridge had a touch more aggression. Nothing major, though.

Another great review Jonathan. I actually placed an order for this exact model about 2 months ago here in the USA from a major national PRS dealer. They are so backordered that my guesstimated delivery is expected to be sometime February 2022…. By your talented playing you’ve reinforced my decision to purchase this guitar and made my extended wait time somewhat more palatable. Thanks!

Oh man it's been years I don't go there. When this C19 is over & might be there again if the SG & MY borders back to normal as now my son is in to a guitar. Davis Guitar & City Music is most frequent shop I bought any guitar accessories. That PRS sure look nice & might be in my collection soon... '07 😎

Thank you for a excellent review. i purchased this guitar about a month ago and it was not easy to find in stock. i am so very glad i got it , its a great instrument out of the box but i will be getting a set up for it as well. i do like for now the 09 string set , maybe i'll look at a 9.5 set . The guitar really sounded great on the selections you played. This guitar seems to work well with my Katana amp and i am looking forward to testing with a multi effects unit ( Headrush MX-5, when i get it ) and my old school Roland JC120.
Aha a green guitar! Although I love green guitars, (LOL I sound like my Mrs. now, she buys cars based on colour - usually good choices too, but that's another story!), there is always the Green-Screen problem when doing a video 😎On the other hand, like a magician - always the "other" hand - the guitar does sound very sweet, those high frequencies did not seem overwhelming in the playing demo. Thanks for another great breakdown of the guitar Jonathan, it all helps establish in our minds what they are good for (playing music is generally a good place to start, and it seems to have the adaptability without loosing it's own character). All good.
01/30/2023: I love this guitar, but I have one major concern with the right arm resting on the guitar. Does this guitar have a comfort curve like a Fender Stratocaster, or is it a painful edge like a telecasters, and such guitars.
Strangely compelling colour Jon. I love the extra cut away in the cut away. Gorgeous tones all round. They really make some excellent guitars don’t they. Mind you your other excellent guitarist in the band would definitely agree. Thanks once again Jon 👍👏👏😀
Hi, nice demo and great playing! My question is Does this guitar can do good job on old blues and rock n'roll? I play Mick Taylor, Albert King, Eric Clapton etc but Les Paul are too heavy for long shows and the splits are great on this guitar. Do you think this could be a good guitar for "oldies"?
Jonathan, maybe you already have, dunno, but if not, I think you could certainly put out a record, maybe a blues instrumental EP. I'd listen to it, I can tell you that much, and I think others would do. I know PRS make excellent guitars, but there's just something about them that I can't warm to. Not a fan of this body shape personally. Rock on!👌🏻
Hi, how are you? Very good video!!!... I ask you a question, the models of this one but 2022, do they have a solid mahogany body or do they have capsules?
Hi Jonathan. Great review. Is there a big difference between this guitar and the S2 custom 24? Thinking to buy one but the price is double on the S2. Is it really worth it? Thanks,
You're the ultimate guitar siren, Jonathan-you play a guitar and I can't help but want it. You make them all sing so beautifully. How would you compare the Eriza Verde to the Skyhawk HH? Seems like the coil split on the PRS gives it a range of sounds one might not get from the Skyhawk's humbuckers … but maybe G&L's PTB system evens the score a bit?
That's no Harley Benton!😂 You can hear the difference. I just watched the sparkle top HB guita review. I think for a novice like me it would be fun. But in your hands I hear the difference.
100% I received one like this but it had a bent tone knob and splits in the fretboard on the headstock side so I could return it. Ordered the SE standard 24-08 in blue cause it's basically the same guitar without worring about a crappy veneer match for a few hundred AUD less
@calvinevans6347 Where the wood grain of the two halves doesn't line up, or in most cases, doesn't even match at all. I must've looked at a hundred 24-08's before finally finding one with a really nice top.
TOO MUCH PIECES of wood in the neck 😢😢. After 6 years a hit on the head and puffffffff - a piece glued is splitted from the head.
