If Shallow is nominated for Best Original Song, Bradley won't be nominated since the category is specifically for the people that wrote the song, not necessarily the ones who sang it (Bradley didn't write Shallow).
Gaga and Bradley will also be up for best original score as well since they both are credited as producers and writers of the soundtrack/score (with Gaga actually composing some of the orchestral arrangements) .
I see at lest 8 noms for this film...and watching t again.

I read that the soundtrack was released one day to late to qualify for this year's Oscars, with the lone exception of Shallow, which was released in time. The reason? The soundtrack is a spoiler.

Bradley Cooper for Best Actor! I fell in love with his character! He's so likable, humble, charming, humane, talented and yet so flawed.. . His facial expression were so believable that at the end of the film you'll happy that it's just a movie and Bradley is still with us! At least that's how it feels for me.

I truly respect Glenn Close and she definitely deserves Best Actress, I never said Gaga "must" win Best Actress, Glenn Close can have it! But if Gaga even just won for Best Original Song or anything else I'm happy ;) I just want her to be happy and have her Oscar because she worked really hard for it her whole career
Lady Gaga was magnificent in this film but she shouldn't win the Oscar. there where definitely parts in the movie where she lost her character particularly in the second act. Bradley acting was phenomenal, so he is a contender for best Actor, but again i wouldn't give him best Director. In the second act they brought Alley to close to Lady Gaga and the lines where blurred. he stated that she was selling out by doing it, and yet she never gave any indication as to her feelings on it.
Lady Gaga doesn't deserve to win "Best Actress" but her song should and must win as the best original song. She's a very talented woman indeed
Sam is such a gentle soul. He really is genuine and authentic in his work. This movie was very emotional for him.

As much as I adore Gaga I don’t see her winning Best Actress. The movie, as a whole, is great. Bradley’s direction is amazing. The music is beautiful. But that’s it. I might be wrong, but it is my point of view after analyzing different factors working together in the film

I hope the Oscars honor Bradley and Stephanie with Oscars and others from this film. It was an amazing movie that touched me deeply. I have watched the other 3 movies and loved them but I have never been touched like this film. I couldn't sleep the night I saw this film. I got on UA-cam and found the soundtrack and played it over and over again.

Gaga gave a great performance, but it's Bradley Cooper's that is still in my dreams. So subtle, conveyed with the expression in his eyes and his body language a lot of the time, but absolutely enthralling and heartbreaking when he collapses at the rehab center. Watch the movie again and watch him carefully. He was stupendous. Then there's the directing, the song writing, the singing, having his hand in every aspect from the sound mixing to the editing. It was a tour de force.
Pliny 830 I agree with this. There’s just something about Gaga being a singer playing a singer that doesn’t convince me she deserves the oscar. But Bradley HOLY CRAP. He was so talented as a musician and his acting was heartbreaking!
Natalie Zayas-Bazan I respectfully disagree. It was the moments where she wasn’t being a singer, but JUST a human being that really captivated me. Just like when she sings, she puts emotion into every single syllable she spoke in this beautiful film.

Can’t believe I didn’t watch this film until just now. I totally didn’t connect with the previous incarnation and so didn’t bother. It is now up there as one of my favourite, if not my favourite, film of all time. It’s the whole package.
A Star is Born is so moving and powerful movie of the year. It is so relevant, sad but heartwarming story of two people in love. Both Bradley and Gaga transformed into the characters they are playing. Great acting and directing. Hope this movie win many awards.

She isn’t the Producer, so Best Picture doesn’t count? Cooper is the Producer.
And there really isn't a score either. Just songs performed live.

I need a documentary about the making of this movie :-) I hope the DVD has lots of behind the scenes footage, because those concert scenes were amazing. So artfully filmed that you would think they shot for hours to get things "just right." Knowing they had 12 minutes IN TOTAL, split across two different concerts, and still got such amazing footage, is really mind blowing.

In the music community it really is like that. When you as a musician sees someone and you just see the talent before anything else, you fall in love with her voice and her talent, then when you meet the person it's just better. Whether its a brotherly love, or a "you're my role model love" or an honestly "Jack and Ally love".
Pls pls pls they choose get all the Oscar they deserve. I personally have got moved and impact from any movie like this movie before. I’ve never gone on my way for even go to academy UA-cam page and begging you to not demand my soul if you don’t give them the Oscar that I think they deserve more than any movies I’ve ever seen. Imagine a song where Michael McDonald shows up as a fill in guest singer. He tends to take the song several notches higher. That's what Sam Elliot does when he is in a film.
Only place I saw Sam Elliot's work before this is 'The Ranch' from Netflix. I stuck with that show due to him. We get a lot more screen time in that show. The words 'Show me the tits on Almonds' still cracks me up when Kutcher shows him Almond milk.
