Bradley is so sweet, funny and kind. He listens and responds to everyone. He's sophisticated and intelligent. Everyone loves him! I hope, he does direct again. And keeps going after bigger projects!
What Bradley didn't mention here about his character Jackson, but I heard him say elsewhere is that Jackson was a "sweet soul". Yes! That was my take and it has stayed with me. On another note: Bradley is drop dead gorgeous in this interview! Lawdy!
Eileen Naughton is one of the best interviewers! Someone who interviews intelligently with sensitivity & intelligence. Learnt more here than any other ASIB interview. Thankyou.
People who don’t know Bradley he’s being involved in all types of setting and has become linguistic. Seeing him communicating with the french or the Spanish is impeccable and impressive for somebody in that field.
This is the best, most comprehensive and interesting interview with Bradley Cooper discussing his version of A Star Is Born. I am grateful to have had the pleasure of seeing it. I went to this movie alone because I wanted to be void of any distraction. It ripped my heart out to the point that I was unsure if seeing it, as an empath, was even a good idea. My deep inner spirit was left with a need to know that Bradley and Stefanie are alright, and even happy in this world. I feel so much better after seeing this interview and I am intensely impressed by Bradley’s intellect, devotion to his vision and the unique perspective of the presentation of the scenes, openly and honestly shared with the audience. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful interview with us.
Brenda Kenworthy I’m also an empath and really prepared myself for this movie/experience because I knew it would blow me away.. my teen daughter and I both are still emotional days later and hypnotized by the music. These souls came together to create such an incredible experience for earth at the perfect time💜
kellysr1976 I could not agree more. It has been 10 days since I saw the movie and I am still watching clips and listening to the songs. What a beautiful story of true love!!!!
Brenda Kenworthy says it beautifully. Just saw movie today with my wife. Reason I’ve just spent 3 hours listening/watching all the interviews. All I used to know was Hangover movies and Silver Linings. Anticipating what he does next.
Who knew that he had so much genius; the script, convincing wonderful people to work with, and his voice! Who knew? Learned the guitar, has so much soul and not hard to look at. Funny, smart, just crazy brilliant. Great interview. Thanks.
What a stunning talent and beautiful soul Bradley Cooper is. So inspirational as well - I'm searching for my voice as I type! Like many, I was stunned by this gorgeous film - I knew it was going to be special, but few movies have touched me so deeply and stayed with me so long. Shallow is a permanent earworm for me and I'm obsessively watching interviews with the stars. You make it, I'll watch it, Bradley.
I love the star is born interviews. He really is so fascinating to listen to and it's especially inspiring the passion he put into this project. I love this movie and hearing all the directing choices, character analysis, and messages behind it all is super interesting. It really is his movie.
This is the best interview of an actor. Hats off to this wonderful lady who asked the best questions and did so with class. I’m very impressed. Thank you both for showing us what it is like to understand what it takes to create moments.
Great interview! The interviewer asked non-standard questions and Bradley Cooper provided some detailed insights into his both his directorial approach and his acting method.
The guy is what you call a triple threat. He can sing, he's does theater and he's am actor/ director. He deserves the oscar, I'm shocked he wasn't nominated for best director. I feel the snubbed him so that Roma can win best director.
Superb interview. The personable way Bradley Cooper ended up creating reality in a magical way was truly sonic. The collaborations that came his way are mainly, because just like David Bowie, he created on the fly with huge limitations, (budgets, etc), but also with 20 years worth of multiple acting experiences where he used his appropriate mixed skills. I cannot wait for him to direct/act again. And again. And again. I once spent 5 years getting Google & Record Company approval for a few seconds of my own generated content. Mr Cooper tenaciously put life and limb into something he was ready for. It's not the only reinvention that made me cry when I saw it. And I loved its predecessor reinvention. But Bradley's ASIB reinvention makes me cry whenever I even think about it. Any or every scene. No agenda. Bradley Cooper will remain my favourite director well after I'm dead and gone. But Sir Christopher Nolan is another. TENET is exquisite for me. Just its dialogue alone. But my love of Cooper's work, in The Words as well as, seemingly, God knows how many other characters, hung over, a little crazy, endearing, reminding me of me, my late dad, my son, other stars or director's I admire....This guy can truly create stories in every and any format both quickly, but still with tenacity of a Hitchcock or Kubrick
He did a fantastic job: while he was obscreen I did not see any traces of Bradley Cooper, he became this person Jackson Maine. The complete transformation from voice to musical execution to the nuances of his character... just extraordinary. This is going to be Cooper's year come awards season and we are about to witness a transcendental shift in his career. A Star is Born is the vehicle that will usher him into the ranks of Redford and Eastwood.
Best interview of this film! And I've seen quite a few of them. Brilliant! Perhaps because Bradley spoke more and gave us intimate details of the creative process that he hadn't done on most of the others. So, good interviewer!
By far the very best interview I've seen on UA-cam. Thank you for bringing this to all of us. Bradley's powerful vision in what he wanted to say in this film has finally upon us all. He should be and is immensely proud of it. I see the film myself, on the 17th October. I can't tell you how the wait is killing me. Congratulations Bradley and Lady GaGa, the rest of the cast and crew for putting this, what is an amazing Directorial debut in the world spotlight. Bradley we hope that you continue to make interesting characters come to life both in front of and behind the camera. Lady Gaga, same applies to you. Born to shine, both of you. Cheers from Australia.
I was amazed how Bradley Cooper was able to take a Pop Diva Superstar like Lady Gaga, and cast her honestly as an ingenue becoming a Star in the film! By stripping her bare of makeup, costume and swagger, we were introduced to the purity of her self, her voice and indeed her true soul. It was brilliant, and literally made this remake work so beautifully original.
Hi Brad, I have been a fan of yours for a long time. My friend you are excelling in talent with everything you do! Love your work, and that Smile 😘 chemistry between you and Gaga incredible! BOGART AND BACALL !!
This lady had the most interesting interview of any other person that Bradley has discussed his movie with. A Star is Born is a movie you must see..the characters are so real..great job.......
Man, this movie was incredible and powerful. I’m grateful for this interview for shedding light into Bradley Cooper’s creative process. This, coupled with the movie, has me feeling so inspired!!
As a really regular movie-goer I am constantly disappointed in the films I see. It is a long time since I came out of a movie blown away, and still thinking about and still talking about a film a week later. I was never a Bradley Cooper fan until now. He has done the most brilliant directing job on this film. Amazing acting from both he and Lady Gaga, musical direction superb, live singing phenomenal. Songs sensational. Who would have thought a fourth remake could be so wonderful. Mr Cooper has been a revelation.
Liz Kasapos I liked him prior to this film but he always had a ‘frat boy’ quality vibe to him. I saw this film and was BLOWN AWAY and I’ve been obsessed with him ever since.
Great interview, great film. Bradley Cooper made me really care about all of the characters he created, and especially about Jackson Maine, whose voice I loved, whether singing or talking.
I loved how he described how the trauma affected his character, at least how he thought of it. I'm a year older than Lady Gaga and I'm just realizing that I'm finally growing up because I was so traumatized as a teenager that I think I'm stuck at 16 in a lot of ways. Hopefully, I'm actually able to grow into a real adult instead of doing what Jackson did.
LMAO!!! I love this suggestion. He and Gaga need to sing it together and he needs to bring back the long hair and the beard. I never found Bradley Cooper attractive, but with the deep voice and that rock n roll hair, he's sexy as hell. I've heard many women say it too. They are in love with him in this movie!
EXCELLENT thorough informative well-done interview! I am intrigued by Bradley Cooper; he seems like an incredible person. I would love to have him as a friend - seems he would stretch the average person's mindset.
There is a part of the movie that becomes boring. Anyway, it is a good history, i cried at the end and the soundtrack is flawless!!!! Greatings from Toluca, Mexico. Love you Bradley!!!!!!
Very impressive and informative interview, it shows how a thoughtful diagloue more than a revolver interview can enlighten the viewer. Some really excellent questions!
The story about Bruce Springsteen stealing his brother's voice makes all of the movie's DNA come together. I cannot tell you how profoundly healing & heartbreaking & healing this movie is. #AStarIsBorn
Thank you, Google and Mr. Cooper. I plan to implement much of Mr. Cooper's process to help further enhance the cultures in which I exist, as well as getting results that make a positive impact for the bottom line, but more importantly, a positive impact for others. Thanks, again.
This what one becomes who is truly awake Truly who he is This is what all of man-kind can and should become A true original A bright star We are all star children but most will never truly shine Fully awake Sixteen hour days every day up at 2 am happily This is The Model of what our divine created us to be...unashamed unafraid limitless shining always shining Wake up my friends and listen to this interview again with your hearts abd minds and souls This is Man
organboi I don’t get why you’ve responded negatively to a few posts. You’re not going to convince anyone that already likes the movie. We get it. You don’t like it. So much negativity and gloom will never get you anywhere in life.
"A Star Is Born" has been filmed 6 times over the years, but basically the same story as written by Adela Rogers St. Johns from her novel "The Skyrocket" and first named "A Star Is Born" with the 1937 version starring Fredric March and Janet Gaynor. My favorite version is the 1952 Judy Garland and James Mason version. This movie will probably be filmed again as its' theme is so popular to audiences.
Great interview since this movies came out I loved it I've watched it at least a dozen times and cried every single time thank you Bradley Cooper for making this movie and think Gaga Lady Gaga for being in it / Stephanie and actually I and tell Stephanie I wish she'd be more herself then Lady Gaga I know that be hard for her but I love her singing as a lie she has a beautiful voice
The interviewer glibly describes Cooper's character in the movie as "a fading country star". Later, Cooper explains that in fact, he "wasn't interested in (telling) that (story)," and actually his character makes a lot of money touring and isn't obsessed with fame or dealing with losing fame or popularity like the character in previous versions of the movie.
You're wrong. The original version didn't tell that story either. But Cooper has no excuse for not going ANYWHERE with his character's struggle. All of a sudden, we reach the end and wonder what made him do certain things. I felt the script was lazy, repetitive and had nothing to say.
I swear if Bradley doesn't win an award for his portrayal of a depressing alcoholic/drug addict Jackson Maine I will be so pissed off. I mean the guy sure has a pretty face and dreamy blue eyes(ok I am sorry but he is) but BY GOD can he act and sing. I could listen to Black Eyes on repeat
organboi just out of curiosity, what didn’t work for you? I suffer depression and i found the movie so accurately painful in its portrayal of depression. I saw it in October and I’m still very much affected by it because I know what it’s like to feel like Jackson did. At the end of the day he just felt so useless and like he couldn’t do anything right.
I have seen two other versions of A star is born. What struck me most about the movie was him. His acting, direction and that excellent musical score brought it home for me. You're music to my eyes
For me to LOVE a movie it has to inspire me, make me think, or make me laugh. I hate to feel manipulated by a movie, I don’t mind BEING manipulated -but FEELING manipulated is what I don’t like. This movie knocked it out of the park for making me think, which in turn inspired me. ** SPOILER ALERT** Being that ‘chosen’ youngest child of an alcoholic I recognized those dynamics portrayed in A Star is Born and some of the characterizations were achingly familiar. The interviewer quotes someone as seeing Jack as cruel, I didn’t see that - when he told Ally “you’re ugly” - being a Southerner I was thinking that he may have been talking about Ally’s remarks were mean...(although a Southerner would have said “You’re being ugly”). I saw the BagelMeetsFace scene was more about not knowing how to deal with his own emotions and express them, than an intent to hurt or demean Ally. There was so much going on in their lives and I didn’t really see Jack expressing his feelings about it. Jack was a character needing help; a few months in Hazelton isn’t going to burn through a lifetime of spiritual and emotional neglect/dysfunction. It does beg the question though- how do we help? That’s what it kept bringing up in me, I think it IS our obligation to help each other. Yet how do we help and not become entrenched ( classic ACOA feelings.) If you want to see crash and burn - watch Heartworn Highways Revisited, In Search of Blind Joe Death (John Fahey), or Duck Tape Messiah (Blaze Foley) In 2 of my favorite scenes it was the way that the music was integrated with the scene what snagged me. You hear in the background Allman Brother’s Whipping Post ..then when Jack is outlining Ally’s beautiful nose “good lord I feel like I’m dying” The wedding was like a dream sequence, so much beauty and the music was perfect for it. Sweet and tender as a Roberta Flack song.
Anotherbadyoga..beautifully written. I have never been an alcoholic, but family members have and it's so sad. The one thing I heard Bradley Express when he was ask what he wanted to portray in the movie was this: He said he wanted to make a movie about two people that are truly in love, no infidelity, but who truly love each other. He then said that, even with that pure love it's hard. Then you factor in being famous, alcoholism, etc..plus he included family relationships, etc....all to say we all need each other. That isn't a profound statement, but you truly see just how much we ALL really do need each other in this movie because he portrays it all so authentically and beautifully.
Ha. It is June 2020 and I have only just seen the film! Very impressed by the nuance and overall lack of cheese..(except for that closing number though - full on Whitney/Bodyguard - destined to be played at weddings/breakups -- very well planned!). Amazing to hear how it was done, and love this interview for being the most intelligent & honest, and least kissass (we in the UK don't relate to kissass). I'll add that UA-cam has massively helped my own creativity -- everything from editing video (which I'd always wanted to do and am now pretty good at, thanks!) to unblocking the toilet!
Bradley is so sweet, funny and kind. He listens and responds to everyone. He's sophisticated and intelligent. Everyone loves him! I hope, he does direct again. And keeps going after bigger projects!

Love Bradley already. He is a natural!! He is improving his acting tooo
This lady is an awesome interviewer.........her questions were outstanding................
What a great interview. I loved when Bradley spoke to the person who is losing or lost her hearing. He is so kind and personable.
This is the best interview on a star is born. So many good questions that a viewer of the film would ask.
Eileen Naughton is one of the best interviewers! Someone who interviews intelligently with sensitivity & intelligence. Learnt more here than any other ASIB interview. Thankyou.

Paola Traettino thank you so much for saying that:)
Brenda Kenworthy says it beautifully. Just saw movie today with my wife. Reason I’ve just spent 3 hours listening/watching all the interviews. All I used to know was Hangover movies and Silver Linings. Anticipating what he does next.

Bradley Coopet found his soulmate in Lady Gaga
They are absolute. Soulmates and everyone is glad they found each other and got connected
He is a true genius, I am mindblown by his vision and his talent

Bradley Cooper is such a great and multitalented artists!! Love watching his interviews, movies and songs❤️
He seems very humble and smart
Great interview! The interviewer asked non-standard questions and Bradley Cooper provided some detailed insights into his both his directorial approach and his acting method.
Yeah no doubt not talking about pointless stuff.
The guy is what you call a triple threat. He can sing, he's does theater and he's am actor/ director. He deserves the oscar, I'm shocked he wasn't nominated for best director. I feel the snubbed him so that Roma can win best director.
VERY comprehensive interview....this man has done SO much work to prepare and put this movie together.....BRAVO!!!!

Honestly these are the best questions asked throughout the whole press tour for the movie

Bradley with Lady Gaga very good Exellent & Perfect match. love team partner so Fabulous. love it 😍
Wow. Bradley Cooper is a genius for real
Oh please.
I was truly captivated by this interview and his sincere in-depth considerate answers.
by far the best Bradley Cooper interview.
Best interview of this film! And I've seen quite a few of them. Brilliant! Perhaps because Bradley spoke more and gave us intimate details of the creative process that he hadn't done on most of the others. So, good interviewer!
The best interview ! So light, so peaceful. I wish could be there. I love this “new” story from A Star is born. I’ve seen all. ❣️
Talented young man! Keep up the awesome journey Bradley!
Good flick, good directing/acting/ scripting etc. Working with Clint Eastwood as a director one can learn a lot. Good job Bradley!

carol p agree with all of what you said. Also Australian
18 Months of singing and guitar lessons.....He is a brilliant actor

It wasn't him who 'stripped her.' She has a depth, a range, a passion, a talent and is not a shallow person so it was easy for that come out.
She trained in acting at the highest level too
I am eager to see and hear more of his stories.
BRILLIANT INTERVIEW. LOVE HIM.
Totally agree with the question selection! So much better questions than the other interviews. Wish Gaga was there.
“People only know what they see”- nice!
After this interview, I want to see it again!
Hi Brad, I have been a fan of yours for a long time. My friend you are excelling in talent with everything you do! Love your work, and that Smile 😘 chemistry between you and Gaga incredible! BOGART AND BACALL !!
Et son rire....
What a wonderfully educated and articulate guy.
Fantastic interview and best movie I’ve seen in 20yrs
He's magnificent
This lady had the most interesting interview of any other person that Bradley has discussed his movie with. A Star is Born is a movie you must see..the characters are so real..great job.......
rosalia35 the lady is head of people operation in Google.
Man, that part where he expresses the composition and camera movement and character story...... he knows exactly what the F he is doing. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
He is the sheer antithesis of shallow. His depth is remarkable and unexpected from a young handsome actor in this time. I’m really impressed.
Bradley & Gaga need to tour together. They would make beautiful music together - literally.
Such a multi talented guy
Man, this movie was incredible and powerful. I’m grateful for this interview for shedding light into Bradley Cooper’s creative process. This, coupled with the movie, has me feeling so inspired!!

Liz Kasapos I liked him prior to this film but he always had a ‘frat boy’ quality vibe to him. I saw this film and was BLOWN AWAY and I’ve been obsessed with him ever since.
Great interview, great film. Bradley Cooper made me really care about all of the characters he created, and especially about Jackson Maine, whose voice I loved, whether singing or talking.
this is a great interview! I love the in depth questions. Way better than your general interviews..
I loved how he described how the trauma affected his character, at least how he thought of it. Petition to have Bradley Cooper singing Shallow at the Oscar as Jackson Maine. Bring back the beard
OMG YES
LMAO!!! I love this suggestion. He and Gaga need to sing it together and he needs to bring back the long hair and the beard. I never found Bradley Cooper attractive, but with the deep voice and that rock n roll hair, he's sexy as hell. I've heard many women say it too. They are in love with him in this movie!
Yes!!! and Yes!!!
let's not.
Never name a song the same word that describes your film.
This guy is genius.
he took NZT-48 ;)
oh my... i love lady gaga and bradly cooper in real life together..hope there's another follow up movie to both of them...love them

Heir is a complete package Love him soooooo much
EXCELLENT thorough informative well-done interview! I am intrigued by Bradley Cooper; he seems like an incredible person. I would love to have him as a friend - seems he would stretch the average person's mindset.
Hi how's it going?
The way he explains his vision of fame being a sonic experience deserves an Oscar in itself
There is a part of the movie that becomes boring. Anyway, it is a good history, i cried at the end and the soundtrack is flawless!!!! Greatings from Toluca, Mexico. Love you Bradley!!!!!!
Best interview I've seen for this film. Great questions!
Meta
Very impressive and informative interview, it shows how a thoughtful diagloue more than a revolver interview can enlighten the viewer. Some really excellent questions!
Love Bradley Cooper

IT WOULD GREAT TO HAVE BRADLY COOPER PERFORM WITH GAGA AT ANY MUSIC OR OSCAR OR GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS SHOW!!
The story about Bruce Springsteen stealing his brother's voice makes all of the movie's DNA come together. I cannot tell you how profoundly healing & heartbreaking & healing this movie is.

organboi I don’t get why you’ve responded negatively to a few posts. You’re not going to convince anyone that already likes the movie. We get it. You don’t like it. So much negativity and gloom will never get you anywhere in life.
Oh, I just adore him

Fabulous interview, so natural, so informative thankyou I loved it.
The interviewer lady is outlandish
Loved this Version by far the best!!!!
This movie was an undeniable masterpiece. Fucking amazing
Incredible Movie All Round! AMAZING!
Beautiful and creative personality! Smart man!
Best interview!

My God! What GREAT interview ! 🙌🏼
❤ you’re so handsome
Love this interview!
Bradley serving these shots in 2018, and I’m here for it bihhhh!!
Great interview. Thanks.
True honesty.
Amazing movie
I loved the music in this film and Lady Gaga's performance, but I didn't learn much from Cooper's character.
Because he's not. He's overall leading with his serious addictions and his memories from the past.
No this is truly insightful interview. Great questions. All the other ones are just the usual boring stuff they ask everywhere
I didn't think he was so great in this. I liked his singing and that was about it. The script is mediocre at best. There's nothing there to work with.
organboi just out of curiosity, what didn’t work for you? I suffer depression and i found the movie so accurately painful in its portrayal of depression. I saw it in October and I’m still very much affected by it because I know what it’s like to feel like Jackson did.
** SPOILER ALERT**
Being that ‘chosen’ youngest child of an alcoholic I recognized those dynamics portrayed in A Star is Born and some of the characterizations were achingly familiar.
Yet how do we help and not become entrenched ( classic ACOA feelings.)
If you want to see crash and burn - watch Heartworn Highways Revisited, In Search of Blind Joe Death (John Fahey), or Duck Tape Messiah (Blaze Foley)
In 2 of my favorite scenes it was the way that the music was integrated with the scene what snagged me.
You hear in the background Allman Brother’s Whipping Post ..then when Jack is outlining Ally’s beautiful nose “good lord I feel like I’m dying”
The wedding was like a dream sequence, so much beauty and the music was perfect for it.
GOOD,,, HE IS EXTREMELY TALENTED AND THR REVIEWS WERE EXTREMELY UNFAIR1
Amazing interviewer!
