What if the pain started with no strain or excercise overload? I’ve been having the pain in the trigger point, going down my armpit (sharp pain ouiuch) and shoulder blade, especially when I take deep breaths and while standing (hurts less lying down), and it all started out of nowhere???
Triggerpoints are a result not a cause. Although treating triggerpoints can have a massive positive result, for many people that result is only temporarily. It’s only symptom treatment, like taking an aspirin, the headache can come back again if you don’t address the root cause of why you have triggerpoints. Most people with chronic pain have an overstimulated nervoussystem caused by way too much stress (various stress factors but emotional stress the biggest). As the nervous system controls the muscles, how can an overstimulated nervous system ever bring relaxation to muscles if the nervous system itself is never relaxed? It can’t! It’s important to lower the stress on the nervous system and the best way to do that is to start working on emotional healing and negative thoughtpatterns. A relaxed nervous system will relax the entire body including your painful muscles.
Hi, thanks! :) The pec minor will exert some pull on the ribcage, for sure. But it´s more that the "whole muscle" will be pulled towards the ribcage, resulting in a round shouldered posture and possibly winging of the shoulder blades. This is not optimal for breathing. On top of that it might constrict breathing. First of all because it assists in breathing, and if it has trigger points in it, this "decreases" its ability to work properly. Additionally the round shoulders initate a cascade where the muscles as well as fascial tissue on your back, between your shoulder blades, will get strechted. This leaves other "respiratory assistants" under tension, in this case the serratus posterior superior. So in a nutshell, yes that´s possible. What to do? Check your diaphragm, pec minor, serratus anterior, serratus posterior superior as well as your scalenes - this might be really helpful, although quite some work. ;)

Can this be cured or do you have this for a life time?
It does not last for a lifetime, but you have to deactivate your triggers in order to stop them from troubling you.
Man you're a wealth of knowledge. Saying this is an informative video is an understatement. Thank you!
Excellent information, thank you. Is it possible that the Pec Minor can become so tight that it can pull the rib cage and constrict breathing?
