I've been slowly moving away from HW and sticking with RLC as well as moving into MiniGT. So tired of finding nothing on the pegs. Its no longer a hunt its a fight and I'm tired of fighting
Isn't the market pretty much saturated already.!???HW, MBX, Gl, Aw, JL, pop race,MiniGT, tomica, M2, GCD,, Majorette, maisto....and many more. Some collectors believe it or not...collect from all those brands and more. 😂 There are gonna be so many old diecast flooding the aftermarkets once collectors start dropping like flies.😂
They do that same shit at my Walmart in Florida! And I’m not that worried about treasure hunts and super treasure hunts. I’m just wanting cool main line cars and they take all those too!😂
I bet you it was the store employee who stashed those, in my experience from getting to a fresh dump bin or like 6 cases freshly stocked first one there and all "sought after " cars are gone its them, or them tipping friends off
Scalpers are simply the lowest form of garbage today. It’s not just Hot Wheels. It’s sports cards, Star Wars, etc. Greedy pieces of trash who simply go into the stores to find things to flip on eBay. Many of them are older men, buying up children’s toys , leaving a mess behind, including on the floors. I’ve lost interest in all of these
None of what you are speaking of is new. It’s not about collecting as a hobby anymore, it’s about money. There are folks who drive all day to various stores to grab only the high value ones.
No use in getting yourself all worked up. It's the same everywhere and only getting worse. They act like there going to get rich from a few cars. Makes me sick. 🤮 👍✌️. NJ 👿
The dude that went to Walmart and bought all the Acuras and Mazdas is a piece of crud but to me the worse person is the one that buys those cars at crazy inflated prices. If that stopped then the scalpers would stop. I hope the guy that bought all those cars doesn’t sell any and returns them to Walmart in just under three months to get his money back and hopefully they’ll get restocked so real collectors can finally get them.
Just something i personally know of happening at a family dollar around me. So this ladie Karen's a manager there, some guy comes through the line one day and tells her how there are things called super treasure hunts and that there worth a while bunch of money.. so now she takes them all out of the boxs in the back before stocking them. If thats not bad enough (keep in mind she is not a collector or even likes the cars). So she has took all of these cars home all year and now they just set because she has no idea what to do with them. Pointless huh😬😄. She doesnt know anything about the hobby and thinks every sth is worth hundreds of dollars.. She told me and my wife this and we just had to hold back and not say much. Its sucks, thats where wed find alot of our supers for our collection (small town honey hole) now ruined because some idiot told a ladie about something she had no business messing with. Makes me think i bet theres hundreds of people taking cars because of the over exaggerated hipe. Obviously this just adds to the issue along with the scalpers. The wanabe scalpers.
I think that's what's going on at my local dollar tree...the past restocks have had no treasure hunts, regular or supers. I could always find a regular treasure hunt on every restock, now...nope. I think one of the employees are taking them
I had a KayBees store the Assist. Mgr did that. To the point she would tell you "I got 4 cases in, but haven't had a chance to go thru them yet. Come back around dinner time" She mainly went after the TH when they had the green stripe. Maybe a hot car if you "Pre-ordered" it. She did it with Star Wars 23?, Luke w/bloody stump & Ephont Man in the Big pkg. When KB announced they were closing, I told her " Too bad. Looks like your outta business. Toys r Us already knows about you. .😀 ...So Good luck" 👋 🚶💭Charma!
This happens here in Toronto as well they take the cars and hope to sell them for more also the Walmart here opens at 7 same guy is always there at 7 no matter what day i go
Sometimes its employees are taking the car in back . I went a place that just loaded up no TH . But you have to find the right place . Walmarts Target Family Dollars inside jobs . I was loading up 80 cars I kept seeing the store manger keep text someone and walking off . I my area if u skip u not getting anything
@@Zer0Fall3n True actually today i found the Supra from the world tour it’s my 2nd newest short my adrenaline was rushing it wasn’t even in the right spot.
@@Dude-dad-diecast I’ve found a ton of open cases that were re-taped, I believe employees definitely swoop em or hide them. Ayyy that’s what’s up man, I bet! Congrats on the find.
@@Zer0Fall3n yea I’ve came across 4 cases of slide street 2 all retapped that rolla isn’t even that cool. The dollar general and dollar tree legit sell scalpers cases my one dg has 3 cars from 22 I asked they legit told me they just sell 72 at $1.25 plus tax that’s under $95 it’s sad where it went I have blue cards from 2000s the glory days
Sadly all the scalping community will do is root out a few castings and make them "elite". Here in the UK, that would be Ford Escorts, Ford Sierras, Ford Capris, Datsun 510s, Nissan R34s and Toyota Supra Mk4s...
I never thought of replacing a Premium car w/a mainline. Does that really happen? I have about 150 Hot Wheels. 90% of my cars are bought from eBay. Why does Mattel make limited numbers of desired cars? Mattel is a business. Why not push out more desired cars? We all know what the desired cars are and what the peg warmers are.
If any of your followers are in OKC. And if you are. You know where that is. If you can't find something. Hit up my comments. I may have it. If it's cheap I'll just give it to you. No bs. NoW that's how you act as a real collector. You share. You give friends stuff. You have fun. Sucking the fun out of the hobby is just being an ass.
I get what your saying 🤔 I don’t collect every boulevard or premium only the ones i like . Out of that Boulevard set the only car i want is that mazda 👀 Got a seller in the UK who has it over £20 it will be one of those cars I will not find in the shops . I bought mine from an online model shop and paid way less than that . I’m stepping away from eBay that’s where most of the scalpers are . Check out your local online hobby shops you may get the models you want cheaper . Lol i had that tank when i was a nipper . Just bought myself one of those Audis and I’ve just got a Nissan primara loose awsome cast love that 1 😀
i have been seeing this on my hot wheel facebook group and in the wild. one time i went shopping at my local walmart and niticed something very odd, i noticed color shifters on the pegs. when i took a closer look, i noticed an older year colorshifter on the pegs, low and behold it was the '67 camaro color shifter. sometimes repacking goes to your advantage but 99% its a shitty repack
I saw a Nissan diarama cars switched at a Walmart this morning I did find 2 newest superer as well as 30 new main lines 1m2 dodge car carrier and a69 Camaro m2 67.00 today 46.00 yesterday other I'll never see around
The Porsche should have a 68 sticker on the hood ...an when its in good shape rolls like a dream. The myers manx is a old casting but this may be a newer version im not sure ..i have a 2005 carded mainline myers manx an it has no top so maybe this is a new version .
Not sure if it's harder, I think it was always like that. Now, we have more collectors, more scalpers or people going for the financial income, but we also have more HW cars. I stay in my bubble, but it is what it is, just move on!
And now where is getting a whole lot harder to find new hot wheels out there at the stores anymore i decided to start collecting duplicates of my favorite hot wheels castings and if I didn't start doing this there would be lots of times i would be going out to the stores and the flea market coming home without anything. So I'm happy and I'm glad i decided to start collecting duplicates of my favorite hot wheels castings.👍
It is the same way around here where I live scalpers are only taking certain cars from sets to go sell on eBay to make money and leave everything else at the stores and people around here do repackage stuff with other cars to return to the store to get they're money back and people are stealing stuff also and just leaving the empty packages there without even paying for them and it is definitely getting a whole lot harder to find new hot wheels out there at the stores i went to this one Target the other day and the pegs were completely empty no hot wheels at all and all none of the stores in my area isn't getting that much new hot wheels in anymore not like they used to and some of my local stores went backwards and put out old hot wheels from last year. So some of my local stores are way behind on getting any new hot wheels now and there are definitely a lot more collectors, store employees opening up the cases and taking the cars before they even get put on the pegs, scalpers, and resellers in my area. So it definitely getting a whole lot harder to find new hot wheels out there at the stores anymore then ever before especially after the pandemic started. Before the pandemic started i was finding lots of new hot wheels out there at my local stores but ever since the pandemic started it has gotten a whole lot harder to find new hot wheels out there at the stores anymore. So I blame all of this on the pandemic that started all of this.
I live in New Brunswick and the dirty buggers do the same thing here but worse the scalpers will turn around and broadcast themselves buying 6 of the same car and selling it for 10x the price. I myself will buy a whole set and when I see a mainline I like I'll buy 2 only one for the wall and one to take out and admire. They are ruining it for everyone. Where did you get your displays behind you? New subscriber here and awesome rant.
All of those cars you showed are better than the treasure hunts or super treasure hunts. Keep it real and let’s kick the scalpers and repackers to the curb. Let them them hoard the garbage treasure hunts so we can collect the truly worthwhile cars.
Yeah the repackers are pretty bad. I saw it often when i used to collect retail stuff. I would let employees know but they didnt care. They would take the damaged pack off the shelf abd it would be back on a few days later. I wont lie. My short time looking for stuff in stores....I dont miss one bit. It was mostly a waste of time and it really showed me this is not really too great of a hobby. I rarely buy now just the occasional online limited excluisve, Thats it. It was fun while it lasted but i moved on to more rewarding hobbies. Anyhow, collecting in any form will attract the ***holes. Just the way it is.😂
Here in California, our Walmarts open at 6 am. As far as not finding stuff on the pegs, sometimes it's the employees. When I used to get there at opening, at Walmart or Target, I'd see most of the boxes would've been pre opened, with the most desirable models missing! Love that Barbie C8 Corvette, hope to find one.
For a while now I just order from diecastz at retail value and save myself the hassle...scalpers can do the driving around but I won't buy from them anymore. Couldn't agree with you more alot of scum around nowadays.
I was telling a friend who isn’t into Hot Wheels about scalpers and he couldn’t see what the big deal was if people get there first and buy up all the TH, STH, or other special cars as long as they pay for them. I guess someone looking in as a non-HW person, us collectors seem to be making a big deal out of little dollar toys 😂 I probably need to chill out a bit and just take this all in stride. My friend might have a point.
It’s not a secret anymore that the employees are the ones scalping the boxes 📦 I see it couple times on target when they just bring the boxes a ready open with incomplete sets, one day I see the employee taking couple cars and hiding it putting them back on the empty box , and she get mad when I ask for those cars , she give it to me because I was recording at the end I take one and I put the other one on the peg 😅
I caught an employee at Walmart tell me he'll bring the cars out. Then he said there's no hotwheels delivered. Then, because I needed dog food, which is next to the shipping door, guess what I found open on another pallet, the Hotwheels boxes, I was asking if they had. I've never found an STH, why because employees are scalping.
Great video I agree with you 100% same 2 boulevard's missing in my stores too. Outof control been collecting for 30 years. Never been like this. Have a great day.
I hate scalpers as much as the next guy and it really p•sses me off finding the popular new models have disappeared from the pegs as soon as they are put out (if they even make it as far as the pegs), but the problem is that the hobby has become a victim of it’s own success. Some collectors want the new must-have models as soon as they hit, and they don’t mind paying extra. So long as that’s the case these dodgy shenanigans will continue. Unfortunately nothing you can do about human greed. So far as breaking sets goes, I collect the models I like and I won’t leave a model that I want behind, even if I don’t want the whole set. I think that’s fair enough. Not always the most popular JDM car necessarily, just the ones that appeal to me. Even though scalping has really increased here in the UK (I’ve even seen them at work) we haven’t sunk so low as to re-package yet to my knowledge ! Great rant mate 😊
No man, you highlight some key points in the hobby. You're not the only one pissed. I'm in my 30's, but have been collecting Hot Wheels and die cast ever since I was 5. This has been happening for decades. I enjoy having complete sets. It sucks seeing broken sets. Unfortunately, I will buy unbroken sets, and buy the missing pieces/ cars elsewhere, just to assemble a complete set. Thanks for another great video, hey man, never apologize for going on rants. Your voice and opinions need to be heard.
150% correct they think they are making money !! But they just keep buying more shit !! .if u want the set phil your better off going to A&j hot wheels and buying cases
Here is my professional opinion on the matter. If one finds themselves ranting about their favorite hobby/past-time, then it is time to simply quit. I used to collect Hot Wheels (emphasis on "used to") and the joy of the hunt for these small diecast vehicles just stopped. Many factors contributed. 1. Quality. The quality has been dropping for years now. I quit around the time Toy R Us shut down, and even then, the quality of HW was on the decline. Cheap plastics throughout, and an increase in price just made it not worthwhile anymore. If and when I DO collect HW, they are purely the vintage era HW; from the 70s/80s/90s era. I would rather go on ebay, or attend Toy Shows to find the rarer stuff. I would rather pay a little bit more for something that is no longer in production, and has a greater chance in gaining value should I ever consider reselling. The stuff today is not worth the cardboard they are shipped in... 2. The designs suck. I don't know who the people are in charge for designing these cars, but majority of them are butt-ugly. I have zero interest in 98% of the stuff coming out from Mattel. 3. The Collectors. A big portion of the folks out there only grab HW to resell, leaving the pegs with the super common and undesirable cars. I am not going to drive around, wasting gas and my precious time trying to hunt for specific cars. It is just stupid to do at this point. If you are a grown ass man, and you find yourself thinking more about Hot Wheels than anything else, you need to seriously reprioritize your life. 4. I am happy and content with what I do have. I have a room dedicated to my toys (I collect other types of toys as well) and quite honestly, I am to the point where I do not need anymore in my life. For one, space is very limited. Also, the economy sucks now, so I really do not have the disposable income to put towards toys (my family comes first). I have tons of HW, and I do not need, want or desire to add anymore to the collection. A person has to have a serious talk with themselves, as often times, collectors collect because it is an addiction they cannot (or choose not to) quit.
I have tons of hot wheels but now just getting rid of everything...there are better collector brands now with alot more detail. No more toys in my PC, probably won't value like hot wheels but it's ok. At this point it's good because the money chasers are still on the hot wheels trying to get rich😂
Has to be Chomedy Walmart. Went yesterday morning at 8h00 am, some dude had 3 180sx FF, 2 boulevard r32's. As someone who collects full sets, it is rather annoying. It's why I moved mostlt to buying online.
Simple,, switch to other brands,, there are good replacements such as mini gt, poprace tarmacworks global lines just to name a few. You can also preorder them so you get them in lower price. You cant play them recklessly though, but if you are into design, why not give it a try.
Blame Mattel Toy Company for all of the bad things that are happening in the Matchbox and Hot Wheels collecting hobby. The current prices are way too high, and only stupid people pay these prices. Most of the "premium" Hot Wheels are nothing more then basic cars in fancy packaging. About 90% of all Hot Wheels cars today are garbage. I talk more about this in my videos. 🤔
Ending with a FInal Run, how wonderfully appropriate! Great unboxings Phil! Yeah, repackers deserve _the Special Hell_ in the hobby. Blows my mind how Mattel will release a premium after a completely similar looking mainline is in the market, like they're *asking* for this behaviour to happen. I don't know enough about WM employment policy to say one of them bought all of those two castings in the set, I sort of doubt another wheeler beat you in ten minutes time. Figured you might have seen the guy scooting to the registers with 6 premiums in his hands. Okay, *wow.* Having to keep tabs on TRU employee schedules just to have a fair shake at the pegs. We all want fair chances, I refuse to drill down that hard. There was a WM picked _CLEAN,_ bupkis on the pegs for mainlines over five separate visits, a diecast DESERT. I stopped going. Somehow after a total store remerch, it got better. Good places, hunt there. Bad places, skip 'em. Maybe that's why I like _racing shows_ so much. Nobody cares what you bought; they look at what you BUILD
Same is happening in Europe, Hungary. With Mainline and with premiums too. Crazy what scalpers do. They bought all mainline '92 BMW M3, BMW M3 Wagons and sold it for 3-4X price. Also, the Bolulevard Nissan.GT-R. More and more ppl visit Facebook groups, asking what is a good "investment"? What can be sold for a higher price.:-D They are not collectors.
Unfortunately its the so called scalpers doing all the hard yards, like networking and Pre- ordering etc. but we are dumb enough to pay big $ afterwards. For completionists I can see why they would call it scalping, but in my opinion 80% of HW and diecast releases i wouldn't look twice at, nor do I pay big $ just because it has a number on it in the hope it will increase in value for me to 'scalp' in 20 years time anyway. It is not scalpers that are wrecking the hobby, it is US as the greedy humans we are designed to be, as we have to have EVERYTHING, even though HW will release the exact same one 3 months later anyway. I say if You need 1 of everything, then change your approach and work harder than the so called scalpers WE created. This I say not just to all who read this, but also as a reminder to myself...lets start enjoying what we already have and stop complaining about about what we cant get. 🙏😊
Same thing is happening in Australia. I've been collecting since 2007 and kept to myself. I don't know anyone in my area who collects and I'm happy to do it alone. But I've noticed more and more there is ALWAYS 1 car missing from a set. Maybe hotwheels should stop making the Japanese cars and go back to muscle cars because it's only gotten to this ridiculous point since the Japanese cars came out more. I'm so sick of these assholes ruining this hobby for a couple of dollars. It's getting to the point of not collecting, because I used to have fun coming across hard to find cars but now they don't exist. It's really not enjoyable especially when market place has scalping scum selling cars I want. But fuck them,I've never bought any online and never will. I hope it settles down a bit.
It the same as in us states it's become hard to find the regular treasure hunts and whole sets too. Walmart employees are supposed to let customers have first pick but the employees break that rule I've work at 2 different Walmart stores and that always made me mad sam Walton would have been mad too .
This behavior is everywhere. As I mentioned I took a 19 year collecting break because of lunacy. When I got back into it in 2021 my therapist said so is the hobby better or worse than before. I said it’s 100s of times worse. So what has changed? ME! I don’t get worked up cause only person getting sick was me. Also I now have friends in the hobby. Lastly I’m blessed to have ability to pre-order almost everything for myself and the 3-4 others I collect for.
The Walmart here in Ontario opens at 7am. But that doesn't matter with "repackers". We can't get all of them...but if they do this crap and take everything...not good. Leave some for the kids. I just got into it...I found MY FIRST Super Treasure Hunt. A few months of collecting now. It was the 2024 Hotwheels '96 Nissan 180sx Type X. What a beautiful color and car. Great video.
Hey Phil...I've started to pre order sets (boulevard, premium, etc.) from re sellers as it seems to be the only way to get full sets here in Australia. A bit more expensive but it's the only way to get 'em as all the shops I browse in have all the good stuff gone ...and I refuse to pay stupid Ebay prices for the ones I haven't got! Good vid mate & that yellow Pantera is killer👍cheers from Oz 🍻
even stores scalp nowadays. solution is simple. just don't buy. if you see for normal price, buy. if you don't see, don't search for them from fking scalpers
You aren't wrong! I got to a Walmart early to find a scalper going through four cases of L. case. I didn't see everything that he took but it was a half a case full. I found that he left one Firebird and one Chevy truck. He said that the stocking guy said there were more cases on the pallet which was nearby, but I looked and could see that they already had been opened from the bottom. Not cool. It is turning me off from the hobby
Eh buddy how's your day? I wanted to start off by saying thank you. I have a question how long has the Hot Wheels you're showing specifically the Barbie and the and the Batman been out for I'm asking this question because I think that all the Walmarts and targets that I have around me which are quite a few do not restock new stuff for a long long time here is a video link to my channel and what my Walmart currently looks like and has look liked for the past month . ua-cam.com/users/shortsjbyDYsMIyt4?feature=share
Im from india ,its really hard to get mainlines here but the premiums are easy to get since the shops are getting repeated stock like there will be like flood of the same set for example we can see the gran turismo r35 and r34 still on pegs . we got (india) only 2 sets till now one is gran turismo another one is barbie corvette set both are pop culture .And Scalpers suckkk!!!
I'm lucky as i live in a very small community and dont have much competition. But i can see your problem. Scalpers ruin the hobby. Havent seen any repacks in Australia though.
I buy direct from Die Cast Depot...Not interested in packaging, or keeping cars in packaging as an investment...I collect what I like, and I keep them in a lighted display cabinet...I collect American cars, historic racing cars, and I build customs as well, with 3d printed engines, roll cages, custom seats, steering wheels, etc....Currently building Tommy Ivo's " Wagonmaster" 4 engine car...
Same thing happening here where I live. I've been collecting for over 30 years now and I have never seen anything like this. This hobby will never be the same. Walmart stocked P case this morning and when I arrived there was one individual with a shopping cart that was half full with cars. Many were multiples of the same casting. By the time he left all that was left were the peg warmers that nobody buys. Years ago I could go into any store and pretty much find what I was looking for. Nowadays I don't expect to find anything. Very sad times for the hobby and the true collectors.
This is why I only collect premium brands like MiniGT, Hobby Japan, Inno64. All these people claim to be collectors but they resell for 3 to 4 times what they paid and think they are helping the community. It's sad that it's grown ass adults that are doing this. You're not going to get rich selling Hot Wheels.
Consider yourself lucky, I was trying to get upper deck series 2 , and trying for a connor bedard. Every Walmart I went to at 7:00, there was never any. Walmart employees are saving them for themselves, or friends. Walmart boxes that should have been selling for less than 40 bucks, were selling on ebay for nearly 100 bucks. Even online they were letting people purchase without limits. So at least you got something.
I doubled up on the newly released 'car culture' series libertywalk RX3 and I found another 787b but I'm going to be sending those my closest friend just as a surprise thank you.
I’ve seen the Walmart thing at my store in mornings. But it was employees filling online orders for customers. Apparently people are doing online orders, instead of looking for themselves like we do. Hope this helps
I live in Vancouver, Canada. Our CRIME OF THEFT here is *insanely high* every single store I go into, I find the following: - Premium cars $7-15+ cars, opened boxes, dumped in the big hotwheels dump bins. They open the car, leave the box, take the car. - Repackaged multi-packs, tons of people are opening the multi packs, and taking out the exclusive cars OR re-packing those packs - In-House Theft. Lots of the workers here collect, because of how many people are into it, staff often have friends who will clear boxes while on the floor in the store before it even hits the shelf. - Any set that has a main car people want, like say there is a F&F set with an R34 skyline, youi'll only ever find the other 4 cars. Basically, here, you're never going to find a legit super treasure hunt unless you got lucky at a super random store that people dont know anything about hotwheels and they happen to put them out.
I'm from the uk and my son is a big collector of hot wheels and yes it does piss you off that you can't get a full set because of low life 🛎 ends take all the good ones and leave the rest between me and my missus we have only managed to get two sets of premium hot wheels it's a shame that there are people out there taking the good cars from the set and selling them at stupid prices
Thank you for showing these amazing castings! I like them a lot! And yes, hot wheels are getting harder to collect indeed, sadly.... In the place I live, everytime when a toy store gets a new box of premium, you know you'll NEVER find some of those castings. I went to a toy store today, the whole set is also missing the two on the top ONLY. No one take the rest. I'll probably go get the pantera gruppo 4 next week. It looks really great to me. I'm fairly sure they'll be on the peg for quite a while which is a good thing to me.
Not every collector buys the whole set. But every scalper will take all of the hot cars.
I've been slowly moving away from HW and sticking with RLC as well as moving into MiniGT. So tired of finding nothing on the pegs. Its no longer a hunt its a fight and I'm tired of fighting
I think the only way to stop this craziness is too flood the market with diecast to the point where everything is a peg warmer. Lol
That's why I am glad they keep putting out R34s, it will over saturate the market and let true collectors get them.
That's similar to what's been happening with the sneaker market funnily enough lol
Then literally nothing would be on the shelf, or wouldn’t even make it off the pallet.
Isn't the market pretty much saturated already.!???HW, MBX, Gl, Aw, JL, pop race,MiniGT, tomica, M2, GCD,, Majorette, maisto....and many more. Some collectors believe it or not...collect from all those brands and more. 😂
There are gonna be so many old diecast flooding the aftermarkets once collectors start dropping like flies.😂
I stay out of the premium game. I only collect mainlines. They are cheap to buy, not worth anything, and I open them if I want.
They do that same shit at my Walmart in Florida! And I’m not that worried about treasure hunts and super treasure hunts. I’m just wanting cool main line cars and they take all those too!😂
Same over here in space coast fla
I bet you it was the store employee who stashed those, in my experience from getting to a fresh dump bin or like 6 cases freshly stocked first one there and all "sought after " cars are gone its them, or them tipping friends off

If that stopped then the scalpers would stop. Yes, on the Batman van and the Barbie Corvette hell yeah!
a lot of walmarts actually open at 7 o'clock
Dude - I'm telling you it's the employees rifling the stash.
These hit my Walmart yesterday. No Porsche. Theft and repack is out of control. Saw a M2 replaced with a HW main line.
I think one of the employees are taking them
Remember Hot Wheels sth & th are manufactured scarcity
Same thing happened to me years ago at 5 below

My guess it's the employees.
This happens here in Toronto as well
they take the cars and hope to sell them for more
also the Walmart here opens at 7
same guy is always there at 7
no matter what day i go
Scalpers suck. Repackers are worse. & I gotta get 2 off them Barbie cars.
I went to a Walmart yesterday they had at least 10 open cards people are stilling cars
Yep. Typical. This is why I joined my local diecast club to find those hoarded cars for a few bucks more than retail price.
Sure it wasn’t the store employee’s? Think about it, store opens at 8:00 and you get there at 8:10?
Employees can’t buy product on shift I’ve heard they need to wait 24 hours
@@Dude-dad-diecastdoesn’t mean they can’t hide it though…
Love the rant phil !!! it's all over the world 🌎!! Getting harder and harder!! Lol
I seen repacking at Target alot 😢 it's a shame
Elementary my dear Watson. Stop making treasure hunts. That will certainly slow down the scalpers business.
It happens often with returns to walmart on those large sets. People take all the cars and leave the transporter.
@@boricuaenOK, oh. I wasn't thinking of those sets. Besides, sets don't have premiums, right?
If any of your followers are in OKC. And if you are. You know where that is. If you can't find something. Hit up my comments. I may have it. If it's cheap
I'll just give it to you.
Just bought myself one of those Audis and I’ve just got a Nissan primara loose awsome cast love that 1 😀
I agree with you 100%. Great video! I can't wait until the Dune Buggy, Datsun Off-road, F&F FJ Cruiser and the HW Toyota Off-road Team Transport.
It’s hard to collect now, JDM and boulevard got scalpers doing abominations. lol. It’s going to get much worse. Much, much worse.
i have been seeing this on my hot wheel facebook group and in the wild. one time i went shopping at my local walmart and niticed something very odd, i noticed color shifters on the pegs. when i took a closer look, i noticed an older year colorshifter on the pegs, low and behold it was the '67 camaro color shifter. sometimes repacking goes to your advantage but 99% its a shitty repack
I saw a Nissan diarama cars switched at a Walmart this morning I did find 2 newest superer as well as 30 new main lines 1m2 dodge car carrier and a69 Camaro m2 67.00 today 46.00 yesterday other I'll never see around
All the bad events are ridiculous...!!! Dioramas same way the put basics on it and with the same price, unreal...Regards Phil....:))
The Porsche should have a 68 sticker on the hood ...an when its in good shape rolls like a dream.
The myers manx is a old casting but this may be a newer version im not sure ..i have a 2005 carded mainline myers manx
an it has no top so maybe this is a new version .
That’s why I collect vintage, no racing to Walmart, no falling for their marketing. Not cheap though, I save a fortune not buying new releases
The Pantera is wicked man. I love that one.!
I haven't even seen ONE yet! .... :( always gone by the time I get there....really wanted the team transport version - big hole in my collection1
I’m my store we don’t really have a repacking issues but then I know the three big collectors here in my town out here in Pierre South Dakota
same happens here...total nosense.
Not a Barbie fan , but that vette looks pretty darned good!😊
I have been hunting for 2 years, and i never found the best cars in the bulavard sets
I've seen it alit myself
Looking at a cool site...there is way too many lines and too many waves in each line that most stores never even see past wave 2.
Carney plastics for the cases, and thank you for the subscription.
I guess someone looking in as a non-HW person, us collectors seem to be making a big deal out of little dollar toys 😂
I probably need to chill out a bit and just take this all in stride. My friend might have a point.
It’s not a secret anymore that the employees are the ones scalping the boxes 📦 I see it couple times on target when they just bring the boxes a ready open with incomplete sets, one day I see the employee taking couple cars and hiding it putting them
back on the empty box , and she get mad when I ask for those cars , she give it to me because I was recording at the end I take one and I put the other one on the peg 😅
Nice job
I caught an employee at Walmart tell me he'll bring the cars out. Then he said there's no hotwheels delivered. Then, because I needed dog food, which is next to the shipping door, guess what I found open on another pallet, the Hotwheels boxes, I was asking if they had. I've never found an STH, why because employees are scalping.
Great video I agree with you 100% same 2 boulevard's missing in my stores too. Outof control been collecting for 30 years. Never been like this. Have a great day.
Yup came across a 5 pack at Target and the the top 2 cars where replaced & professionally sealed up. It was the Retro Racers 5 pack.
That sucks
Ahh..boosted the Lamborghini and the mustang eh? Scallywags
I'm d9ne with hot wheels going with kaido house. Too many scalpers out there
I hate scalpers as much as the next guy and it really p•sses me off finding the popular new models have disappeared from the pegs as soon as they are put out (if they even make it as far as the pegs), but the problem is that the hobby has become a victim of it’s own success.
If you don't have escape plans after murdering them like me, you don't hate them enough!
I agree, I started collecting around 1998 back before Ebay was big and I had to compete against the scalpers, Times have sure changed.
A&J TOYS
I have ran into the hot wheel premiums chase cars and never buy them I don’t collect it so I leave it for someone else I just buy the cool mainlines
Same thing happen at my walmart. Plus, they left a bunch of emptied cards just setting out on the shelf ripped open.
Yeah happened to me dude came in with me took both mighty k didn’t offer me one just straight scalpers hate can’t complete anything it seems
Awesome finds and in store video congrats.👍
Employees do it most of the time
You got a new sub from me I agree buy the whole set if you have the money to buy 6 of the same it is so sad
Thank you for the subscription
The super van is this best in the set imo. Luckily my brother found me one.
Rant is valid
Nice opinion
I have tons of hot wheels but now just getting rid of everything...there are better collector brands now with alot more detail. No more toys in my PC, probably won't value like hot wheels but it's ok. At this point it's good because the money chasers are still on the hot wheels trying to get rich😂
I will die before I stop!
Has to be Chomedy Walmart. Went yesterday morning at 8h00 am, some dude had 3 180sx FF, 2 boulevard r32's. As someone who collects full sets, it is rather annoying. It's why I moved mostlt to buying online.
No, 440 laval
Simple,, switch to other brands,, there are good replacements such as mini gt, poprace tarmacworks global lines just to name a few. You can also preorder them so you get them in lower price. You cant play them recklessly though, but if you are into design, why not give it a try.
Thank you but i do collect the other brands I have tons of mini gt inno64 and tarmac. I work in a diecast store as a semi retirement job.
Canadian tire is a good place too at times to get items
Yes old stock
You still have Toys-R-Us in Canada? I thought they went out of business everywhere 😮
No, we still have them but they suck now, Mainlines from 2 years ago.
Bent cards everywhere. Mainlines are even getting hard to find in good card condition.
That sucks too
👍👍👍

There are plenty of jdm collectors who aren’t scalpers/resellers who just buy everything. I personally just want the pantera.
I'm sorry but the Manx and Supervan are the best cars in that set. Actually, I'm not sorry. Scalper missed out. Congrats
Yup. Just prepare for the new landscape in this hobby
I agree, but this repacking is an all-time low. These guys are the bottom of the food chain Walter and make the rest of us good guys look bad.
On the other hand, I love your channel. I have been subscribed for a while. Keep up the good work.
Our CRIME OF THEFT here is *insanely high* every single store I go into, I find the following:
- Premium cars $7-15+ cars, opened boxes, dumped in the big hotwheels dump bins. They open the car, leave the box, take the car.
- Repackaged multi-packs, tons of people are opening the multi packs, and taking out the exclusive cars OR re-packing those packs
- In-House Theft.
