Of the two, I made the best choice with the Potensic...and bang for your buck...they take that too. Potensic stll have improvements to make with their software, but it's still the best choice I made. If they keep up as they have, budget drones from them could be very interesting indeed. Great video yet again Marcus, best wishes from across the pond

The Horizon tilt could still be improved with further firmware updates. I dont find it that bad on mine. Potensic is much more polished product. It was my first GPS drone. The HS900 is impressive for a Holystone but for the whole market I'm not impressed. HS900 at that price point your into DJI prices, which their cheapest drone, the Mini 2 SE is in that price range. It dosent do 4K but does 2.7K. I don't miss the 4K and can barely tell the difference. DJI does a extremely good 2.7K. Potensic is much crisper video to me and the HS900 looks grainy and washed out.
@@asdaven1 I too chose the Potensic. Not sure if he's aware that you can calibrate the gimbal. I've had zero issues with horizon tilt, or anything else. Absolutely love this drone.

This is a great idea to compare these two drones. They are both decent drones if you can't pick them up for a good price then they are worth it but as usual it always comes down to price. I'm still watching so I don't know yet who wins.
I thought the HS900 looked a bit better. The Atom looked a bit overexposed in the sky and the HS has a better bitrate but the Atom is a much better deal at the better price

@@RDsRCReviews You can manually adjust the exposure on the Atom. Not sure about the HS900
Great video, Marcus. FYI - the Atom is put into interval shooting mode by long pressing the alarm clock icon - this will open a dial for you to select the interval in seconds, the record button starts & stops shooting. HTH

Howdy,fellow 208er here. Im just getting into drones and i think you just found me my first. Im going to order a potensic i think. Features look good price isnt horrible and for now potensic isnt getting banned.
The Potensic Atom is a nice little drone, however for the same price the DJI Mini 4K offers a much better camera and a better connection. If a DJI ban takes effect, it will not affect existing DJI drones. 👍

I haven't flown the atom but I have noticed that the gimbal is what it is on it. The 900 can be adjusted to make sure that it is level. Plus the time lapse on the HS 900 works great the video settings in the 900 can be adjusted to be a little brighter. All in all both are nice drones for the money but I prefer the 900 I believe. One and most important customer service is super at holy stone. Oh by the way I compared the 900 to the DJI mini 2 and they are pretty close in their operation. So my choice to fly woyld be the 900. This is just my opinion for what it's worth.

Got Potensic atom se combo a while back is great fun for money . Took it out 3 miles across our lake then returned after taking a picture of an island w no issues at all .GPS return is great .

Thank you for the video I had the HS360s and it was not a gd experience I got the Potensic Atom Se flew it 3 times and fell in love and new my next one was going to be the Potensic Atom and I'm not disappointed I got the fly more bundle from ebey it was from the Potensic Atom store used but I can't ell it's been used at all paid 240.00 can't beat it

It is almost too close to call, but I think I prefer the video from the Atom, not counting the crooked the horizon issues. I would take the video from the Fimi Mini 3 over both of them. Great comparison of these drones, and sorry you ran short on battery power for the HS 900. Thanks for sharing.

Potensic Atom is clear winner to me. App is more polished and just a more polished product. Gimbal tilt can be fixed down the road with firmware updates. The price of the HS900 puts it into the DJI category like a Mini 2SE. In between, id go Fimi. Still I feel the Potensic is closer to DJI quality although it dosent reach that. My Fimi does glitchy things occasionally but I give the plus to it being more sporty and fast than my Potensic. And it also has alot more flight modes, some DJI dosent even have. The Fimi also tends to overheat if left on the ground too long. Potensic has a heavier duty build in my opinion , doesnt get as hot. Its never happened yet but I feel the reliability of the Potensic is closer to that of a DJI drone. The Fimi is more likely to fail and just from this video id say the Holystone exhibited some glitchyness.
You didint mention it but if you rewatch the video when it lost signal and returned to home, it pointed its bearing to the left at you and flew diagonal the whole way . The Potensic pointed directly at you and flew straight. Its just little things like that.

I'm thinking of the Potensic Atom, Holy Stone HS900 and the AE86 Pro Max+ but can't get any info on the last one. Specs look good but real-world would be very different.
I haven't been able to get any info on the sensor for the AE86 either. I've watched a few Indonesian reviews on it's features and battery life, which are fairly accurate. However, for some reason, there's no real-world footage from the supposed 8k camera.
It would be great if you managed to get your hands on one and compare.

@@IdahoQuadcopter On paper the AE86 Pro Max+ (note; there is a non-plus version floating around) looks good but they haven't disclosed what the 8k sensor is and I can't find decent footage. There are some from other YTubers but they don't state what settings their uploads were.
Plot twist, I ended up ordering the Fimi Mini 3 but it was a tough decision.
It was a late addition to the mix as I had pretty much thought I was going to go with the Atom
Potensic Atom: There is a check box below the "Signal Lost" setting that, by default every time the app is started, is checked, which makes it climb to 120 meters. Uncheck it to use the height you set.

Thank you! They do not come with FAA legal lights for night flying. There are many brand of LED lights that are made for drones, Firehouse is one of them.
I hope you don't mind if I ask a question? How do you start a screen record on the Potensic Atom? I've only recently purchased this drone and I am very pleased with it, but I have a DJI mini 4 pro with the RC 2 so I was looking for something similar to the DJI controller, I've seen a few of your videos and they are very good, thanks for taking the time to share you experience with us all.
I use the native screen recorder on my iPhone. I’m sure it’s different on android. I hope this helps.
You can uncheck a box for the return to home at 120m and it’ll go to whatever you set it at.

I have to make the rushed 1st time purchase with little time to practice but to get out to the field - to go to Camino De Santiago (Pilgrim Walk) in Northern Spain.
My Needs : a light-weight, crisp, color-saturated (accurate to the eyes) video shooting, with Features, to record the "eye-level" for 360' view of the town center, and to let it follow me between the two villages, or general aerial views on a plain, entering the next town/cities or leaving - sometimes in a light rain.
* What is everyone's experience like, with the 1st hands on either drone (HS900 or Atom)?
I am already leaning on Potensic Atomic to order, as the price is low and has a follow me feature, but, no obstacle avoidance, with which then I should move to DJI mini 4 pro, $1100, but very unlikely.
I definitely would need a personal recommendation on the actual users of my situation of rush for a memorable hiking trip. Thank you in advance!
For the most part, the answer is that you get what you pay for. While a bargain drone like the Atom, may do what you need, the DJI Mini 4 Pro is the best Mini drone there is. The Mini 4 Pro will certainly accomplish the task.
Have , you ever tried yagi antennas for the RC controller to get better reception and distance ? And do you think they work ?
I've never tried them, but I've heard that they work great!

Im not sure how potensic produce a very good image with such a small sensor! Your still having issues with the signal i see, i dont have any issues with mine and i use the same dji mic. When they sent you a replacement did they send you a new drone and new controller?
