Hey friend, thank you very much for your comment and I am glad my video has been helpful! That small black cover doesn't have actually anything underneath. This drone has TOF Module and Monocular Visual Mode and those sensors are placed at the bottom of the drone.

Thanks for your kind comment and enjoying the video. Its gimbal does go up to +20 but not in sport mode. It allows you to move the gimbal up to beyond 0 degree in cine and normal modes.

Did you need a license and approval to fly over the city and Stanley park? I'm on the North Shore and trying to find whatever info I can so I don't get fined on my own adventures

Potensic Atom is microdrone which is under 250gram therefore you do not need to register it, you do not need to obtain drone pilot license or any permits in Canada. There is kinda one simple rule; don’t do anything stupid with it! Be mindful of people and your surroundings, respect people and their privacy. Even if it is microdrone, I always use Nav Canada App and other offical websites to check before flying. No not necessarily every time. If you go to a new place, you may consider doing it. But it will also give you a warning “compass calibration required” on your remote screen.

It can go higher than 120 meters but please be careful and cautious. I did not have any experience with Holy Stone Drones but I also did very intense research before buying my first drone. So I can definitely tell you that I would still choose Potensic Atom Drone!

You transfer it from the micro SD card. Unfortunately you cant transfer it by connecting the drone itself to your computer. You have to use a card reader.
The only thing I can think of is that RTH altitude must be set higher than flight altitude and once you click the RTH button, drone must go up to that set altitude first then return home.
Definitely! I have mini 4 pro, as well but I am very grateful to begin with Potensic Atom first. I certainly hope and wish that Potensic will come up with better and more competitive drones in the near future.
Video Mode is the equivalent of Cine Mode. Additionally, it allows you to adjust the speed settings of drone and camera movements for more steady and smooth footage.
Honestly, I would not compare it with Mini 3 / Mini 3 Pro / Mini 4 Pro series. These are more advanced level drones with more advances hardware and software features. I would compare it with Mini SE / Mini 2 SE / Mini 4K series and I would choose Potensic Atom over them. Here, you need to ask yourself the questions; What purpose do I need the drone for and how much of those features will I be using? If your budget allows you, sure, always go with Mini 3 and above series but if your budget is within Potensic Atom budget, then it is a great value drone with the features and side products it comes with! Plus there is more discount on Amazon Prime Days now if you are living in North America region.
Yes it is, much better. I have 6 DJI drones, & even though I don't currently have a DJI Mini 4K, I used to have a Mini 2, which is the same drone, as the Mini 4K. The range and camera on the Mini 4K, blows the Atom out the water. I bought the Atom 3 Axis Gimbal & range is horrendous compared to DJI & the camera quality is seriously lacking. Do yourself a favor and buy a Refurbished DJI Mini 3 with RC Controller for $430 from the DJI Store, you won't regret it.

I have been seeing many diferent Videos about Potensic, because I have one too, but my Gimbal is brocken, so I Got another one, me ans I have too now. So Potensic ist no bad, but If you get crashed, there no way to repairs, because you don't find parts to buy. I had to buy another Potensic Atom Only Body, otherwise I I brhave with me a broken Drone without Camera.... so after you learn how to fly, the next step is your FPV expirence. So I do recomend for the beginning to buy a MINI from DJI, you pay more, but if you need to repair , you find parts online to buy. Potensic you find nothing,nothings, nothing . only a new drone from CHINA . Today I have a Potensic with only two batteries, no Hub, no Bag for 600 dollars. I could easily have a very good DJI.

Do you need to do the Compass Calibration every time out ,Every location ?
No not necessarily every time. If you go to a new place, you may consider doing it. But it will also give you a warning “compass calibration required” on your remote screen.
It has waypoints support too (one of the best feature of this drone) 😉 and it's for free (not needed 3rd party apps).
Best video I've seen of the Potensic Atom so far. Thank you, it's just unfortunate phone screen camera wasn't being recorded but that's ok.

Depends on weather and what mode you use in but average is 18-24 minutes

It can go higher than 120 meters but please be careful and cautious. I did not have any experience with Holy Stone Drones but I also did very intense research before buying my first drone. So I can definitely tell you that I would still choose Potensic Atom Drone!

Can you plug the drone into a laptop to download the video from the SD card or do you need to remove the SD card and put it in a laptop?
USB C connection socket is on the battery itself, not on the drone. So I think that would be just for charging, not data transferring.
you need to be a very good programmer.... APPs go dows to Smartphone or Tabletts, not PCs, capito ?
When you view the videos from your phone, it downloads the video to your phone before you view it. No need to remove SD card from drone.

It's a great drone. I love mine just as much as my DJI Mini 2. Maybe more actually, since it has some features the DJI doesn't.

At 15:48 of my video, you can see the way to reach these speed settings. To achieve more steady video, you should set it to Video Mode.

They should of used 5.8ghz there's too much interference at range in built up areas.
I agree, as I mention in the video as well, if there is one bad thing I have to say about this drone is that its signal range. I wish it was better.

That is great! As I said in the video, it varies in different conditions such as strong wind etc. But if you get to have 27 minutes, that is perfect!
