Folks sometimes dont realize that the spirit of the chef imparts flavor into the meal he or her is making. Enjoyed your laughter at the intro brother. Keep the vibes that way.
GARLIC PORK IS A Guyanese dish..We eat this in the morning for breakfast during Christmas along with homemade bread..It originated from the Portuguese in Guyana ..its awesome..Good job Chris!!
No it is not. Garlic pork is also a Trini Christmas traditional dish originated from the Portuguese influence in Trìnidad. The native indians certainly did not have garlic
Truth be told, the Portuguese from Madiera brought Garlic Pork to both Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago... It did not originate from the native Indians tho!
I'm pretty sure that people appreciate you taking the time to show how to properly cut up the meat, because not many folks would bother. For those of us who don't want to watch, that's where skipping ahead comes in handy. Happy holidays Chris, to you and our wonderful family that loves to cook right here beside you.

Chris you read my mind! I was looking for a pork recipe to add to my Christmas meal and I literally had no idea what to do. I planned my meal just last night and the pork was the last thing I was pondering over. I'm adding this, you saved my Christmas meal. Nice going Chris. Not all hero's wear capes lol. Thanks for the save...even though I have to do the marinade by Friday 😓
Hey ! Chris love me some garlic pork and nice twist using that Bacon fat I can just imagine the flavors thank for sharing the recipe this is a must try for me . Merry Christmas to you and your family from Jacklyn n Stephen out in Trinidad & Tobago.
Chris, the link for "More Caribbean recipes can be found at" is not working at present. Instead it downloads a file "download.gz". I went back two years and tried link. Works perfectly.
Chris, I remember your 2010 recipe. Can't believe it's been that long we have been on this journey. Anyway, you may want to speed up the video at times; like when you are prepping. ( cutting up the meat etc).
Your attempts at a very special authentic Guyanese tradition is appreciated but it misses the mark on several levels. The most significant error being the use of pimento pepper. Although most Trinidadian dishes seem to start and end with pimento pepper or shadon Benny, we do not use those spices in our cooking. Pimento competes with the intent of the garlic flavor and therefore is not authentic. Nonetheless, I can see why you’re intrigued with our cooking - it is simply amazing. Thanks for honoring Guyanese cooking. 🎄🇬🇾🎄
Alison Cheung what a condescending and pompous comment. Especially when in the video he explicitly states that it’s NOT traditional and authentic, lol. You missed the mark on this comment.
Rob, I guess she is comparing the way Guyanese ppl prepare garlic pork to Trinidadians, I’m a Guyanese & I understand where she’s coming from, he did stated that other ppl do theirs different, no need for name calling.
Chris , Your so Cute. Love it. Coming to your house for Super. Christmas Super. Chris , Why , do you place it in a Jar ?? Why , dont you use White Wine ??? I will try your way. Are you Married ??? If Not , I love to be your Bride.

The guyanese version we don't put it in the fridge. Looks delicious tho.

Chris hi now there can NOT be too much garlic for me, I DO EAT LOTS OF IT , SOMETIMES SOME SLICEDNONIONS,SHALLOTS& GARLIC, 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇨🇦🇨🇦🇺🇸🇺🇸
Is it necessary to remove the skin or you can leave it on?
you can leave the skin if you wish. The key is a bit of fat though
I'm not a real fan of pork but that looks delicious.
Not a pork eater but that brine😱....I'll try with some venison...boomshakalaka
I know some people rock it with chicken.
Chris, I remember your 2010 recipe. Can't believe it's been that long we have been on this journey. Anyway, you may want to speed up the video at times;

Can I use chicken instead
Don't eat pork

Chris , Why , do you place it in a Jar ??

If Not , I love to be your Bride.
In a glass or plastic jar to marinate so the brine does not react to metal
