I’ve had severe hip pain for about a decade. Did tons of physical therapy, nothing helped. Finally I was able to get a spinal x ray and turns out I have spinal arthritis. 10 years of just making it worse. I was very unhappy with the docs I’ve been telling the issue is in my back for the last 10 years.

What do you do to lessen the pain please? I go to the hydrotherapy pool.

@@carolyn3746 I use a tens unit and a heating pad and recently got a prescription for meloxicam and I take Tylenol as well.
I started working on core strength and it has helped a lot. I got a back brace for when I’m doing house work as well.
It still hurts but not like it was. The more stretching and core strengthening I do, the longer I can go without pain.
I plan on losing some weight. Maybe 20-30lbs over the next year and work my core until it’s tight and we’ll see if that cuts the pain even more.

About a year ago (2023), I had extreme pain in my right thigh muscles. My PCM sent me for x-rays. By the time we got the results, pain had spread to the left thigh muscles as well. The diagnosis was osteoarthritis in both my hips. My hips have never hurt. I figured it was referred pain just as you describe in your video.
I did receive several courses of PT which helped with the pain and strengthened my muscles and made me more flexible. I still get thigh muscle aches when I walk long distances. However, Tylenol and a rest day take care of it.
From comments you make in this video, I may be trying to progress too quickly. I have a CruiseTour to Alaska in July and August 2024 and want to be able to walk 2 to 3 miles using my rollator walker.

I've had labral tears due to impingement in both hips. Found that if it goes uncorrected for awhile you can start to compensate and cause the back pain that radiates down your leg into your foot. Excellent video!

Is it possible that as a female age 63 my hip pain is from menopause depleting estrogen, causing inflammation, going so far as gluteal tendinopothy. I had zero no issues til menopause then the right side is a pain in the A_ _ …can’t walk daily unless it’s on grass or hiking a trail. In the subdivision is a definite no on the repeat. (So much for walking with the hubs). No amount of chiro adjustments or exercise makes the pain STOP. Stretching keeps me going and doing, but wow….it’s real!! What a literal pain….

I’ve had pain down the front of my left thigh not very far down, but a little bit and my hip has felt tender. My leg has buckled on me a few times went to the doctor and they said my x-ray. I have a left hip impingement. Thankfully, it’s not very painful.

I love the way Americans say budd-OCK with the emphasis on the first syllable. I’m English so we say it in an equally ridiculous but different way ‘buttuck’ (emphasis on the second syllable) like ‘butt’ then ‘tuck’. No pronouncing ‘T’s’ like ‘D’s now 😆

Go to a chiropractor and have your hips adjusted. Problem solved. There’s no other way. I have yet to find another way that works. I’ve tried yoga I’ve tried chi gong, I’ve done every mobility and stretch that there is, I’ve done every exercise. You can find nothing will do it like a chiropractor, putting force and torque into rotating your hips and popping them back into alignment. All the other stretches and workouts just help reaffirm the alignment once you are realigned. Your leg should never be shorter than the other. They should always be same length if they are off and you have back pain, that’s because your hips are out out of alignment you need an adjustment. GO TO A CHIROPRACTOR OR STAY IN PAIN lol

@@margaretthatcher6828 well most chiropractors are looked at as quacks. Admittedly I’m fortunate that mine has worked with pro athletes. Find out who’s the best in your area. I find that everyone has a hiking hip that’s similar to what my own body has experienced so that’s why I’m adamant about it.

One bone in the spine is a vertebra, this is the singular (said like the ladies’ garment).
Two or more bones in the spine are called vertebrae, this is the plural form. (said like the cheese-Brie).
You’re supposed to be ‘teaching’ folks-please learn to pronounce these words correctly.
They are Latin. Look it up!
I leaned this in my sophomore year in college and didn’t even have medical training! I guess they’re not teaching this anymore.
Too many ‘medical’ folks are butchering the pronunciation of these words.
    -a is pronounced -ah
    -ae is pronounced -ee
