OMGOODNESS! This is what I've been praying for is to get in shape and be fit strong arms, legs your body is a temple! Thank you for motivating and inspiring me.. I look forward to more and more! I'm excited!! Be Blessed!
Thanks so much for these videos. Great re-introduction to working out again for this 57-year old. Having been focused on yoga for several years, I realize now how much I've missed strength training. After 13 years, I still enjoy my career as a Licensed Massage Therapist and I am certain these manageable, yet effective, workouts will help keep me working long into my 60s. Very grateful...thank you. -Maria
This looked deceptively simple. I guess I am really starting at the beginning after taking 5 years off of any kind of training besides walking. Completed this twice this week and my muscles can definitely feel it. Thank you. I look forward to continuing.
Thank you Rae! You are inspiring to we women over 50 (I am 66) - I believe that weight training is the fountain of youth, but I need to be mindful not to stress my knees, shoulders and neck at this age.
At first I saw how beautiful and fit you are and thought this would be too much for me but it is a lovely routine. The gentle music and movements are just what I needed. Thank you so much - I'm looking forward to watching again and checking out your other vids.
How did I just find you!!!?? I do lift weights, but likely not properly and there are very few people who cater to my age group (56) and understand how it's different for us. Can't wait to get started with you - thank you for the motivation and inspiration!
Hello Rae I did weights in my late 20s but have been ill with M.E.for 20 yrs...I am just starting to get back into weight training as I am a lot better and may have tried to go too heavy too quick and my body is complaining so I have done this session today without weights 🤞🏻I will do the progression soon....
Oh this is amazing to hear. We often try to do too much too soon! Listen to your body and maybe repeat this workout for a few weeks before moving on. Make sure you are keeping strict form and really focus on the mind muscle connection. You will get your body stronger with consistency 🥰💜
I know this is two years ago, I have the same problem with my ankles. If you could do a video about ankles that would be great, if you already have, could you tell me where to find it as I couldn't find it in the list of videos. Thanks!
i definitely need an alternative after joining a gym last year, loving it, but I keep injuring myself, and am quite depressed about it. I was loving kickboxing class... but these injuries take so long to heal. I am feeling my age of 55 and it's really spoiling my fun.
Hey how lovely to meet you! It sounds like there’s a few things going on and I just want to reassure you that how you feel is quite common but I believe there are ways you can start to feel young again! Strength training is key, and if you keep injuring yourself it sounds like you would benefit from a personal trainer. It’s not just about lifting heavy weights but about using correct form and mind muscle connection. Consistency and progressive overload are so important too but remember to listen to your body and rest when you need to. I cover all these things in my videos. The other thing that I wonder is do you take HRT? I keep meaning to do a video about this and promise to do one soon. I hope that helps 💜
Im 57 and just starting, i just wanted to know how long should i do the exercises in this video before moving to another more challenging full body workout? I love you Video's you are so calm and explain everything so well.
Hello, I recently discovered your channel. The work out you do is great, thank you very much. Do you recommend doing the workout before going to bed? I appreciate your help.
I've enjoyed many of your videos and subscribe to your channel. I am 56 and have been lifting for 2 years. My workouts revolve around heavy compound lifts. I only see your workouts incorporate dumbells, bands and body weight. You have a truly stunning physique. Do you use a full bar and compound lifts? If not, did you go all the way to competitions without them?
That's a good question! There are a lot of channels sharing advanced workouts and I am slightly different as the workouts I post on my channel are for beginners. I am very passionate about encouraging older women to not only start weight lifting but to keep lifting for life. I like to encourage correct form and lifting safely. When I competed the main compound lifts I did were pull ups, hip thrusts and RDLs. I have never really taken to traditional deadlifts or squatting with a bar on my back. My go to squat exercise is split squats in various forms. I am very strict on my form and mind muscle connection and pushing myself to failure. I hope that helps 💜
I cannot believe how fit and trim you look. I'm going through some of your videos now and am hoping for tips on how often we should train to get a body like yours. Amazing.
Hey! Thanks so much for your kind comment 🥰 💜 This may be a valuable one for you to watch... it is one of my first videos and in it I talk about my weight training routine, progression from beginner aged 50 to competitive bodybuilder aged 53. ua-cam.com/video/rc23bceAZ5w/v-deo.html
Rae can we practice this workout 5 days a week during the beginner level .....As I am joining the gym after a gap of 5years .... Previously had continuity of 5 years ?? Pls suggest some weekly workouts after fifties.. Loved this session 👍☺️
Hey thanks for watching! Yes you can. Just be mindful that our bodies do need rest days (that’s when our muscles grow!) and once you start increasing the intensity I recommend you don’t train the same body part two days in a row. Consistency is key so having a regular routine you follow every week for life is the best way and that means rest days too 💜 on my rest days from the gym I still walk or cycle or do something active. We need to keep our bodies moving!
Hey I have done some nutrition videos already but they don't get many views. 😟 Have you watched any of them? Maybe I need to change the titles? Or maybe its because they were my first UA-cam videos I did!! I will link one here and you can let me know! 💜. ua-cam.com/video/rnFwDbW9VlQ/v-deo.html
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. (Psalms 51:1-4)
It’s a terrific idea to make videos on this subject for this demographic - but grrr, it’s discouraging because while you do look lovely, you’ve also had a lot of work done. Not something that’s available to everyone.
Hello I’m pleased you appreciate the video. I don’t understand your comment though, a lot of work done? I had breast implants many years ago, but I can’t begin to imagine what you are talking about so do please share. I don’t understand why this is a problem, my channel is to encourage women to start weight training for the health benefits and to eat a healthy diet; you DO NOT need to have breast implants to build muscle, tone up, lose fat and be strong!
Thank you for this. I’m easing back into exercise after a 4 year hiatus (disc issues) and this workout is the perfect pace for me until I’m a bit stronger.
Wonderful! I'm so pleased to hear you are on your road to recovery and very grateful my workout is perfect for you 💜 Thinking of you as you work your way to a stronger place 🥰
I am a 55 year old dude , i must admit that women into fitness like yoursef have great posture, which the men dont...i might follow for a while.. PeaceFromOz 🇦🇺
Thank you for your workout routines. I am trying to get back into weight training after years away from it. I now have a very doable way to get back to weight training. I am mixing this with yoga and rebounding and am finding this to be the perfect way to remain fit at 65 years of age. Keep up the amazing work.
I’m so grateful I’ve found your channel this is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’ve been struggling with the perimenopause and now menopause after hysterectomy and my muscle mass and strength has completely diminished. I’ll be starting your at home workouts asap. 🙏🏽❤️
I've been doing 2 of your other videos so this one is actually less of a challenge for me BUT it is definitely a perfect into to exercise video for other people I know. Definitely going to share this with them. Thank you!
@@LiveYourselfYoung I certainly will! I am also incorporating your pelvic exercises. I have a lot of pelvic muscle pain from working out. I am so happy to find someone my age! It is great to know you aren't doing any high impact workouts too.
