  • Have you ever stopped to ponder how a muscle got weak in the first place?
Well, this is my favorite place to start! If you know the cause, it's easier to prevent it from happening in the future. Check out this video for some great tips.

Your videos are gonna be on repeat so I can digest totally. Been weight training for awhile but these key knowledge you’re sharing are the best things to take note of! People take these important stuff for granted. I see gym peeps just simply do do do, just carry the weights, but eventually neglect an aspect that can affect quality progress. The strength we hardly focus too, the level 2 and 3 muscles.

What surrounding muscles are usually seen weak when you work on patients whose pelvic floor is tight and clenched instead of weak? Thank you this video is giving me a lot of insight about the fast and slow twitches very interesting!

Usually, a tight pelvic floor is a weak pelvic floor as well. You can't strengthen a muscle you can't relax. I have another video relating a tight pelvic floor to the bicep. You should check out that video as well. A lot of times I will see weak glutes or glutes that don't fire properly. I have seen lots of other combinations as well with deep hip rotators, etc. The pelvic floor has to pick up the slack when the surrounding muscles don't play their part. Glad you liked the video!

Core Exercise Solutions thank you i will. I suspected as such that weak gluteal muscles would make the pelvic floor work extra hard and naturally tighten up because it’s overworked. Thank you for your response! One last question would weak abs have an affect on the pelvic floor tightness as well? Thank you, you shed a lot of light on this subject your videos are awesome keep it up!

@@davidjuarez300 The pelvic floor and the Transverse Abdominus (innermost abdominal layer) are connected. If one is not working properly the other cannot work properly. If you cannot relax your pelvic floor you won't be able to get a good contraction of your pelvic floor or your TVAs (first 30% of a pelvic floor contraction is pelvic floor muscles then the TVAs kick in for the rest of the contraction). Abdominal weakness can impact many areas of the body since everything is so interconnected. Great questions!

Core Exercise Solutions thank you! This confirms that sitting for long periods of time are detrimental to ones pelvic floor health, abdominal and glute health. Do you have any classes for building up abdominal strength that’s gentle for the pelvic floor? A link would be perfect. Thank you for your responses Dr. Duvall!

@@davidjuarez300 I do have online programs to address those issues. Here is a link to my site www.coreexercisesolutions.com/programs/. All of my programs are included in one membership because I find people usually need multiple programs and one membership saves them time and money. I usually recommend going through my Pelvic Floor Perfect program first if you have pelvic floor issues. I also have a diastasis program specifically for men that would address abdominal strengthening (as well as glutes) but it does not incorporate pelvic floor issues (why I recommended pelvic floor perfect). Here is a link for the program for men: www.coreexercisesolutions.com/diastasis-fix-for-men/. If you are interested in both programs shoot me an email at info@coreexercisesolutions.com (the men's program is not part of the all access membership) and we can see what we can do for you to get you going in the programs.

You have been so informative!! New subbie here! Do you have a video demonstrating proper alignment when strengthening our glutes? Thank you!

I have several videos on here demonstrating proper alignment in different ways with several extra tips on things to look for. Making sure your glutes are actually firing properly will be huge as well. I have a video of that as well on here- facedown glute squeeze.

I'm so confused, I have a pelvic floor weakness problem but I've never been pregnant. Are you saying you get this problem if your pregnant or have ever been pregnant? I'm confused.

    • @CoreExerciseSolutions

You do not have to have ever been pregnant to have pelvic floor issues. Sorry for the confusion!

Hi, My doc said that I have weak lower back muscles & that's why I'm suffering from back pain. So should I go for pelvic relaxation or pelvic strengthening? Whether it's safe to strengthen those muscles on my period?

I would get into a pelvic floor PT if you can and they can help you figure out what you need for you personally! - Or I have a course that goes over just that!
      www.coreexercisesolutions.com/pelvic-floor/
You can strengthen your pelvis floor on your period if you like but often women due to hormones will either get tight or super loose so its ok to back off your kegel routine on your period.

Causes: not enough demand, improper alignment, hormones (based on minerals), compensation for gluts

Healing is possible and Its never to late to invest in your pelvic floor - I have seen many ladies that have done my programs be able to go into pregnancy stronger than they would have without my programs.

Every time I start to workout my Glutes I get a sharp pain in my butt area. I think it’s bc my pelvic floor is too week. Can I still do the excises like hip thrust, elevated squats, slit squats etc but just lower the weight. Or should I focus on making my pelvic floor strong for six weeks then start lifting my weight again. Or can I do both at the same time. Please answer and help me !

Do you have the ability to go see an in person pelvic floor physical therapist? They would be able to help you determine if you have a weak pelvic floor and the best way for your to go about getting rid of that pain!

Hi, I would get into a doctor if you can - burning with urination can be the sign of a UTI - I would also see if you can get into a pelvic floor PT as well.

Hi! I really have a lot of complications right now and I am barely 25! I just had a baby 6 weeks ago and 5 days later, I noticed something bulgy in my privates, I believed it was a prolapse but my ob says it is not, that it is a tissue, something like that, but I also feel pain outside my Vagi. And can feel that bulgy thing when i am sitting sometimes. I also believe that my Tailbone has moved inwards and I am suffering from constipation right now due to that because my stool doesn't seem to have the space to come out. Can I visit a Chiropractor so he can fix that if my pelvic floor is weak? I really need to fix that because it's also causing me headaches when I am sitting down and alot of other pains in my body😫😫 Idk what to do sometimes, I am looking for a therapist, please reply back if you can! I really appreciate it and thank you for your videos and time
