Yeah, if you notice, I have my 92FS in a holster in this video. I meant to take the magazine out of it and stick it in the CX4 Storm, but I forgot about it.

Here I am, watching your video 8 years later and enjoying your evaluation, marksmanship, and honest opinion of this "spacey" rifle. The 8-year's worth of viewer comments convinced me this is the rifle I was hoping for. Thanks for all that you do. Your library of videos is impressive and most helpful.
Out of 15 firearms (so far) this one is also my favorite. It just shoots so smoothly. It also helps my left-eyed self be able to shoot without getting gassed in the face by every round I fire.
Can’t Argue with that. It’s exactly why I bought one as a bug out gun and home defense weapon. It’s chambered in 9mm which is one of the most common rounds in the world, has little recoil, weighs only 5.6 pounds, is compact, accurate, 92 series 30-35 round mags are plentiful and cheap, and it cycles anything you feed it. Can’t ask for much more from a gun. A replaceable or foldable/collapsible stock and a threaded barrel are the only two things this bad boy could use. But I am very pleased with this weapon overall. Mainly it’s proven ability to shoot 1,000 rounds of practically all brands and loads flawlessly without a single cleaning. That’s a feat even some pricier guns can’t do.
I am puzzled to see, how little the shooting community understands the functionality of the lower connection beam on the Berette CX 4 storm. There are even shooters, who remove the connection. This is why you should not remove it or get confused about the « beam »: The lower connection between the buttstock and the pistol grip is a HANDLE. The Beretta CX 4 (as the Taurus CT 9 and Caracal CC 10) use the same ergonomical approach. If you do long-distance, precision shooting with the gun mounted on a for-end tripod (or a sand pillow), you can grab the lower beam (handle) between the stock and the pistol grip with your « free » hand, while placing your elbows on the shooting table or ground. By doing so, you block the stock, as if it would be held in a bench vice. It is not a design gimmick - but a pretty intelligent solution. As for dynamic sport shooting like IPSC, this lower handle offers an alternative grip and can be helpful, when moving in close quarter stages. Hope this helps.
Too bad I got one last year for a bit less. It sucks when the dollar drops. Did you get the special Canadian edition with the longer barrel? I did and funny thing is my carbine is unrestricted, but a buddy of mine's M4/C8 mock up which is restricted is actually longer overall. Love our stupid laws. Anyways, good shooting. BTW, this is an assume firearm with a Red Dot sight for shooting coyotes when in wooded areas, an excellent camp gun if you are in remote locations, and a fantastically fun range gun that you can take to your favourite hunk of Crown Land.
Donald Ranski yeah I imagine it was used lol it didn’t come brand new in a box or anything, but it was more like 500 because he threw in the conversion kit with it for an extra 150 so I can swap it back to 9mm from .45
Yes, I didn't show the rail that extends. The Safety, at least while new and not broken in, is not as ergonomic as an AR for sure. Way better than an AK, though. :-) I just discovered, though, that I can pretty easily disengage the safety with the knuckle on my trigger finger pretty easily. Engaging it is quite another proposition, though. Requires using the left hand or changing grip.
Very cool. Seen a few at gun shows and thought they were goofy looking. Then I picked one up.....what a sweet feeling, handy little carbine. I'd love to have one.
hickok45 I gotta admit something here... lead cast handloads that's my pistols turn their nose up at, run through this puppy with no problems at all! It is a very forgiving firearm! Ps... I do powder coat my 9mm lead cast projectiles.
That's MY experience exactly. From afar, it almost appears to be a goofy piece of plastic water gun or something, but it definitely has a feel of quality when you work the bolt, shoot it, and take it apart. Hopefully, I won't get surprised as I keep it awhile and continue to shoot it.
I agree, this is a great rifle. I've had one in 40 for almost 8 years. It's held up great and with an EOTech and tactical light, it's an impressive package.
Love that I only have 2 kinds of magazines and ammo, 9mm & .40 S&W for my Berettas! Have the CX4 in .40 to go with my PX4 & 96 FS, and a 92 FS in 9mm. Berettas have been around for 500+ years, and they’re experts in the firearm world. I love all of mine.
I watched this video the day it came out 10 years ago and I've wanted to get the CX since then now I'm 28 and am finally able to afford the CX4 Storm and I'm so stoked to go pick it up in a few weeks. And not only the CX but a Mauser Model 1908 8mm. Thank you for opening the world of firearms to me all those years ago.
The are really cool. I've always thought one was calling my name since having this one temporarily for videos. Finally, I became an owner a few months ago.
I've always admired the feel of this little carbine since I first laid hands on it. In my neighborhood they're upwards of $800-900, which I've also felt to be a pretty proud number considering the other options which occupy that price bracket. If it sold for about $650-700 I think they'd sell a ton of 'em.
Picked one of these up last month, just shot it yesterday. Couldn't be happier, put almost 250 through it and no malfunction. Rapid fire stays very accurate since there is next to zero recoil... New shooter that was with me was able to hit targets over and over (same could not be said with the other weapons we took). Out of the box sights were almost dead on, 2 ticks to the left and the gun was grouping 2" at 25 yards. Love it, so far don't have a negative thing to say about it.
Had this in 45acp......wish I'd gone 9mm. Absolutely wonderful carbine that never gave me any troubles at all. On a bench we could shoot soda cans at 100yrds, all day long. What more could you ask for out of a pcc. 9mm over 45 was only because Beretta used their 8 ROUND pistol mag and there was zero aftermarket support!
I've posted on his other reviews that he is an excellent shooter. I just bought a CX4 Storm just like his... it is a great little carbine! Accurate, easy to handle and dependable so far thru a couple hundred rounds.
I love this weapon.. I've put at least 2,000 rounds through mine and so much fun to shoot. This video is a great representation of this weapon's capability with Hickok's excellent ability. Great shooting Sir! Watched many of your videos and each are very good.. and great cam work by your son. Keep it up! Can you do a video on the Sig Sauer PM400 PSB? I have one on order and want to get your opinion.
Frakin' toasters. BTW, Beretta actually sold a fake flash suppressor that slipped over the barrel to duplicate the look of the colonial carbines. An aftermarket company still sells them
Good review. LOVE my CX4!!! I have it set for the PX4 magazines and yes, its brother PX4 shares space in my safe. Does look a bit unusual, even space-ageish, but that's what attratcted me. Thing is extremely accurate. Everyone who shoots it wants one.
I have 2 of these. A 9mm using 92 mags and a .40 using PX4 mags. I have matching pistols for each. I had the Sierra Papa internals installed and they run much smoother and trigger is lightened. .40 is formidable in a carbine. According to "Ballistics by the Inch" it picks up 300+ FPS in a 16" barrel. This puts it in 10mm territory. A Burris Fast fire 3 will perfectly co witness with the sights. (as will a Bushnell TRs25) I've tried both and prefer the Burris... I have one mounted on both my rifles.
Sir, I just want to say you are an amazing shot. You make it look easy but I tried putting targets and sodas at distances similar to the ones on your range and it was a lot harder than you make it look. Happy shooting:)
I tried this at my local range a couple of times and it shot like an absolute dream. The recoil of a sewing machine, I’ve never been so accurate with a gun before. Really considering getting one of these, but it’s hard for me to justify it compared to AR-15s which are around the same price right now.
Went to Cabela's on Black Friday intending to buy some ammo for a range outing, and discovered they had dropped the price $100.00 from 2 days before Thanksgiving! Forced me to buy one to match my PX4 and take it home! Still getting acquainted, but it functioned flawlessly at the range. Switched everything over for left-handed use and ready to go again. Thanks Hickok45 for helping convince me. :-)
I love my CX4 9mm! Owned it for several years and honestly can not remember it having a single failure! I added the factory "Commando" grip, factory top rail, and a cheap red dot! FUN PLINKER and the ammo is affordable still! Thank you Hickok45 for doing a video on one of my favorites!
Excellent video, thorough analysis and usage. Great job! Love the firearm. On a side note, around the 2:30 mark, correct me if I'm wrong, but the bullets ricochet off the metal into the 2 liter? Wouldn't that make you a little nervous knowing it could have come back at you? Just m paranoid self I guess. Great job though.
Another one buying this carbine mostly because of this introduction. Who's talking is a US born - Dallas, TX - residing in Rome, IT. Thank you Mr. Hickok.
Not an expert, Designation for the Storm is P=Pistol,C=Carbine and M= Military so PX4,CX4 and Mx4 Storm. There are 2 Magazines that fit these depending on which you order or buy (adapter's sold by Beretta if you need to change) 92 mags or the Storm mags. 92 and Storm mags are different and are not inter-changeable (buy according to your firearm) Awesome combo, owning pistol and carbine taking same mags. flawless function with 115 gr to 147 gr ammo! Real winner! Beretta equals quality, history and craftsmanship! Hold's and exceeds it's value in time! It'a a Beretta!
Just bought one of these rifles a couple of weeks ago, love it so far. Here in Canada we are restricted to 10 rd magazines and it comes with a 19" barrel. Not real cheap here though, with tax it was just under $1,300.
I used to see these guns at the store and thought it's the fuglyest thing ever. Then I saw a used one with a barrel shroud and the extra rails and it looked cool. I asked to hold it and it just fit me like a glove. I'm 6'2 245lbs. I bought it and love it! The only bad thing was I had to buy a 92fs cause they take same mags. Great system. Very accurate! Wish I had another.
+hickok45 TOTALLY AGREE!!! This thing is a great shooter and feels good to hold because of the "bulk" to it. If you have a Beretta 92FS your mags will be interchangeable. You can actually put different mags in the CX4 with interchangeable mag kit.
Lawrence Oliver a The Ruger PC9 is another great choice that takes Ruger P Series magazines. Yes, I know it's not made anymore before someone comments on that. I found mine on gunbroker with a bunch of magazines. 15 rnd and 30rnd magazines. It's a great little carbine.
Shot one of these many times here in it's native Italy. I found it to be light and manageable without loosing in sturdiness. The downside is you always have to keep in mind that it's just a glorified pistol and loads/operates like one.
The best carbine I've ever owned (not many) is a beretta cx4 storm 9mm and a 45. I bought the 9mm when I was 19 and was sold to me because it was a rifle but had to always go back to the place I bought it to get ammo because I was 19 🤦♂️ I'm 33 now. That is the most reliable and accurate gun I have ever owned. We've put tens of thousands of rounds through it and still dosent jam (with new mags, had a issues with the originals later in its life)and with iron sights still has a 1" group.
As opposed to what? They’re bigger than a half gallon(U.S.) and we already have those. Honestly I wish we’d man up and switch already. I hate the old measurement system.
The 2 liter bottle was introduced in the early 70s during the big push for Metric system conversion in the US, the conversion didn't take, but the bottles stuck around.
Questar, and ya its the restricted short barrel version I got for 599$. I rather have it the way its suppose to be, not like I will use 9mm in the bush anyway.
This is an outstanding gun. I had an afternoon at my local range with it, borrowed it from the owner. Didn't even notice how fast I burned through 100 rounds of ammo. Really fun gun!
I bought a .40 for $499.00. .40 is great in a carbine... the longer barrel improves the velocity much more than in a 9mm. A .40 CorBon in a 16" barrel gets the same velocity/energy as a 10mm... it really whacks the steel.
I have sent about 2000 rounds out of my 9mm Storm Carbine. About 200 of those were Hornady Critical Defense/Duty HPs. The rest were FMJs. It has had about 2 or 3 failures, in total. No failures with the HPs. If I found myself in a WROL scenario, I would have my LC9 in my pocket, my XDm 9mm on my side, and my Storm slung over my shoulder. It is expensive, but it is worth it. Very ergonomic, and it is built as solid as my XDm. It is a beautiful, superb functioning carbine... :0)
picked one up today, used, because of this vid!! cant believe i walked in the store, and found this thing. its hardly been shot. came with a with a truglo redot, and sling for $600! been looking for a little pistol calibercarbine. thanks hickok.
i got one of those about 3 years ago an still to this day its my favorite. an after 1000s of rounds ive only had 1 stovepipe. i hate the irons on it so i got a bushnell sight an its never failed me yet. GREAT gun for the price
I just love mine!! My duty gun is a full size PX4 in 40. My CX4 is also in 40 and takes the same magazines. The CX4 can take several different magazines from Beretta in various configurations. It can be matched either to the M92 or PX4 Storm handgun. My girlfriend has "adopted" the CX4 as her very own!! i1162.photobucket.com/albums/q537/whitelightning777/CX4scope4.jpg Enjoy!!
I like how you are having so much fun with the gun. I just ordered the 9mm version. I feel the same way as you. When I first saw this gun, I really didn't like the way it looked. Then I finally rented one at the range and was suprised how how easy it was to shoot. I'm in Canada, so this is a "scary assault weapon" and the law only allows me to bring this to the range (with a transport permit). I'd LOVE to plink in the bush, but then I'd get 5 years.
Rajeke I am right there with you. I am also an LEO and I am addicted to his videos. I check almost everyday for a new posting. Hickok45 I truely love your videos!
Yep, you are officially in trouble. I have the PX4/CX4 combo and it is addicting! Make sure the one you buy is set for the 92, since it's sold both ways. If you find a used one for the PX4, no worries; you can buy the sleeve to fit the gun for not too much money. the 92/CX4 combo has the advantage of those wonderful 30rd mags. :)
Mr. Hickok45, your videos are a pleasure to watch. Many days after a heavy day at work I like to watch you shooting some new firearm on your range. It's just great to see all the different firearms put through their paces without any nonsense or blatant advertising. I find it relaxing and informative. If I have one request it would be that you invite Mr. Bob Munden for a visit to your compound; that would be the most amazing video ever. More power to you!
The CX4 Storm also has a picatinny rail that slides out of the stock on the underside of the barrel. The front sling mount is actually the button that allows it to slide in and out.
hahaha im sure you are trolling...but no, the strength of the firing pin have nothing to do with velocity its not a BB gun , its the powder charge that produce the energy...the firing pin only strike the primer that set the charge off...you could have a 1000 hp firing pin and it would shoot any faster. a longer barrell USUALLY gave better velocity because the powder can have a little more time to burn completly...in this case with a 9mm its usually 150-400 feet per second faster out of a carbine...depend alot of the specific round
I don't see a select fire anywhere and it function like any other long rifle so no it's not an assault rifle liberals gotta at least get the terminology right
tried this gun on a 30 yard pistol range - obviously we are not as good a shot as this gentleman because we were getting 4 inch groupings at only 15 yards. Its a fun plinking gun though.
That is a neat gun. I like the hi-point ts995. Shoots the same ammo as the p95 and for around $400 its loaded with, flash sup, red-dot, forward grip, sling, red lazer, springs on the buttstock that help with recoil, and a flashlight. Its also very reliable and well built. I never wanted a hi-point cause the pistols are so bulky but this one its awesome. My 8 ear old shot it for his first time. That lazer had him on target every time.
got this in a .45 as my first firearm on deep discount at a local sporting goods store. threw a vortex strikefire II sight on it, love love love it. so much fun to shoot and would recommend to anyone.
Don't know; I doubt it. Not a big deal for me since the Beretta mags are everywhere, and I find them to be very reliable, too. It would be a bonus, though, for someone like myself who has Glock mags in every caliber and size.
It's not really squishy; it's different from most triggers. Bottom line, it's not bad at all. It feels more like pushing a button or something. I don't have a problem with it, although it might not be the same on all of them. Don't know.
Yeah, if you notice, I have my 92FS in a holster in this video. I meant to take the magazine out of it and stick it in the CX4 Storm, but I forgot about it.
Also works with the Px4 mags

I've shot with this gun before. It's amazing. There's damn near no recoil and it's very stable. It fits against your shoulder like a glove.

Forced me to buy one to match my PX4 and take it home! Still getting acquainted, but it functioned flawlessly at the range. Switched everything over for left-handed use and ready to go again. Thanks Hickok45 for helping convince me. :-)
The best part of your videos is you giggling when you explode two liters, love it!
Yeh, I never get tired of him chuckling like that.
Have handled one of these in .40 SW. Really fun to operate. Fairly accurate even for a novice shooter, and easy to use.
There is a hidden Pic rail in the front. Pull down the swivel and it can be extended for a light/laser.
Hickok.
I'll probably start keeping my eye out for one.
92 and Storm mags are different and are not inter-changeable (buy according to your firearm)
Awesome combo, owning pistol and carbine taking same mags. flawless function with 115 gr to 147 gr ammo! Real winner!
Beretta equals quality, history and craftsmanship! Hold's and exceeds it's value in time! It'a a Beretta!
Great shooting Hickok45! Couldn't have done better myself. Awesome video, please make more! :)
Just bought one of these rifles a couple of weeks ago, love it so far. Here in Canada we are restricted to 10 rd magazines and it comes with a 19" barrel. Not real cheap here though, with tax it was just under $1,300.
On a four inch barrel you could see 115 grain 9mm at 1094 FPS and on a 18 inch barrel comes out at 1298 FPS. A 200+ FPS increase!
and tighter groupings as well. ;)
a .40 is even more dramatic.
That bolt is a chore to clean. Aside from that, it’s an outstanding carbine and has a nice sound to it.
I just bought one! I’ll have it next week. Can’t wait!! :D
If you had to chose between the CX4 and the Sub 2000 which would you prefer? Or is there a third comparable choice you would rather go with?
Lawrence Oliver I would trust the CX4 Storm to a much greater degree, in terms of reliability. It's more of a real rifle.
Cool thanks.
+Lawrence Oliver If you enjoy wrecking your trigger finger, go with the SUB2000.
The downside is you always have to keep in mind that it's just a glorified pistol and loads/operates like one.
really badass rifle
The best carbine I've ever owned (not many) is a beretta cx4 storm 9mm and a 45. I bought the 9mm when I was 19 and was sold to me because it was a rifle but had to always go back to the place I bought it to get ammo because I was 19 🤦♂️ I'm 33 now. That is the most reliable and accurate gun I have ever owned. We've put tens of thousands of rounds through it and still dosent jam (with new mags, had a issues with the originals later in its life)and with iron sights still has a 1" group.
I'm surprised Americans call 2 litre bottles 2 litre
HerrenGamingNews lol, so true, I hadn’t thought of that, good catch, lol
As opposed to what? They’re bigger than a half gallon(U.S.) and we already have those. Honestly I wish we’d man up and switch already. I hate the old measurement system.
@@CoordinatedCarry quart....
What a silly word. Quart
The 2 liter bottle was introduced in the early 70s during the big push for Metric system conversion in the US, the conversion didn't take, but the bottles stuck around.
"and a liter a' cola", "a liter a' what?"
2042. Nice.. That thing's up there with the cool firearms. It's up there with the P90 and what is it the FN2000, and the Kel-Tek Sub 2000.
I just got one of these after watching this on sale for 599$. Now I gotta wait 3 weeks to get it thanks to our laws up here in Canada.
Where did you find one for $600 in Canada !?
wait its a waiting period 3 weeks
is it certain parts of canada cause if its 3 weeks thats bull
+cmoreno Only if you bought the short barrel Restricted version.
+Joel Alexander ooooo nice
Questar, and ya its the restricted short barrel version I got for 599$. I rather have it the way its suppose to be, not like I will use 9mm in the bush anyway.
This is an outstanding gun. I had an afternoon at my local range with it, borrowed it from the owner. Didn't even notice how fast I burned through 100 rounds of ammo. Really fun gun!
pick up one in 40 for $400.00 what a deal
Try $800
Or the $650 I just bought mine for.
sortedevaras Congrats?
Yes
He made an eyeball for the ram. Twice.
Chernobyl?
picked one up today, used, because of this vid!! cant believe i walked in the store, and found this thing. its hardly been shot. came with a with a truglo redot, and sling for $600! been looking for a little pistol calibercarbine. thanks hickok.
We wear the same tactical outfits while shooting :p
i got one of those about 3 years ago an still to this day its my favorite. an after 1000s of rounds ive only had 1 stovepipe. i hate the irons on it so i got a bushnell sight an its never failed me yet.

Enjoy!!
Maryland trooper?
I like how you are having so much fun with the gun. I just ordered the 9mm version. I feel the same way as you. When I first saw this gun, I really didn't like the way it looked. Then I finally rented one at the range and was suprised how how easy it was to shoot.
I'm in Canada, so this is a "scary assault weapon" and the law only allows me to bring this to the range (with a transport permit). I'd LOVE to plink in the bush, but then I'd get 5 years.
Lol did I hear you say the year 2042??
Yes sir, you did.
It would be funnier if we watch this again in 2042.
Rajeke I am right there with you. I am also an LEO and I am addicted to his videos. I check almost everyday for a new posting. Hickok45 I truely love your videos!
My wallet is in trouble. I just dropped the cash for a beretta 92 and the next paycheck may end up going towards one of these to match.
Great Carbine... Excellent design and it seems very handy. Thanks you keep posting your videos. :) Great work!!
"Okay, I know where to hold ping, ping, ping, ping..."
Cool. I have this same gun. Goes great with my 92. The mag compatibility is awesome.
Alibi mains where you at?
I REMEMBER WHEN GUNS EVEN HAD WOOD ON THEM
The CX4 Storm also has a picatinny rail that slides out of the stock on the underside of the barrel. The front sling mount is actually the button that allows it to slide in and out.
Now it is time for Glock to make a carbine
Theres enough guns
@@ATLballer 😂
They already have 😂
That ominous chuckle “ha ha I know where to hold now” that’s a baaaaad man
It's a beretta with a plastic shell, and longer barrel. :/
aka more velocity
'' gain in velocity would be attributed to a more powerful striker/hammer'' hahahaha!!!!!!
nothing, you joker (wink wink)
hahaha im sure you are trolling...but no, the strength of the firing pin have nothing to do with velocity its not a BB gun , its the powder charge that produce the energy...the firing pin only strike the primer that set the charge off...you could have a 1000 hp firing pin and it would shoot any faster.
a longer barrell USUALLY gave better velocity because the powder can have a little more time to burn completly...in this case with a 9mm its usually 150-400 feet per second faster out of a carbine...depend alot of the specific round
As a fan of experimental films, this is the best one I have seen in quite some time
Alibi mains???
Yes, broke down and bought one. Fantastic carbine, and fun to shoot.
ALIBI
That last bullet went right through the ram's horn curl.. Great photography and great shooting.
To bad this is an assault weapon in NYS..........
you can thank the five boros for that
I am in the five Boros :(
got any friends in legal states?
I don't see a select fire anywhere and it function like any other long rifle so no it's not an assault rifle liberals gotta at least get the terminology right
just about everything in NY is an assault weapon lol, i need to get out of here
tried this gun on a 30 yard pistol range - obviously we are not as good a shot as this gentleman because we were getting 4 inch groupings at only 15 yards.
Around 1000 rounds so far not a single issue and I have yet to clean it. This little carbine is a beast.
thanks for always just being a normal guy with mad skills.
Thanks for the video! Being a lefty this would be an awesome firearm to grab soon!
Haha, I loved your intro Hickok. Your videos always make me smile.
Don't know; I doubt it. Not a big deal for me since the Beretta mags are everywhere, and I find them to be very reliable, too. It would be a bonus, though, for someone like myself who has Glock mags in every caliber and size.
I have never seen you so quick on the animal targets. As always, awesome shooting!
It's not really squishy; it's different from most triggers. Bottom line, it's not bad at all. It feels more like pushing a button or something. I don't have a problem with it, although it might not be the same on all of them. Don't know.
You really should consider showing us the new ruger PC Carbine, thanks
