I've wanted one of these since they first came out, to go along with my Beretta M9, but always thought they were a little pricey .Finally got one this week after finally seeing a deal on one that was too good to pass up at under $600 new. I'm really pleased with it, it has exceeded my expectations in every way. Good to find this video and see Hickok45 having so much fun. A lot of people seem to get worked up about PCC's but IMO to do so is missing the point. Many think you may as well go straight to a "rifle round" but it's nice to have something that doesn't have all the blast and flash of something like 5.56/223 and in a compact package. Having spent time at the indoor range with fellow shooters and their short barrel AR's the noise and blast is truly horrible, I personally would not want to fire one inside my house and certainly feel the aftermath of doing so would leave you disorientated for any follow up shot. I feel a 9mm carbine is sufficient for close range defense and the CX4 is a very compact and handy option, something easy to take with you when you travel etc. Each to their own, I have a number of firearms in various calibers, but still appreciate something soft shooting and fast handling as an option, being able to be so small while still retaining a long enough barrel to burn all the powder is "secret ingredient" to it being so quiet and fun shoot.

Do you have issues putting the 15-rounders _(assuming it's 9mm)_ into the magwell? I found myself using the 30-rounders because the flare at the bottom of the grip makes it so you almost have to PUSH the mag in with a finger so it sticks. Recently got this in FDE 9mm from Bud’s and the one mag that came with mine also occasionally doesn’t lock back. The 30 rounders I ordered have not had that issue. 🤷♂️ I have impaired hearing, in fact my left ear is purely decorative. So this little 9mm carbine is ideal for home defense for me. Touching off an AR or shotgun indoors would quite possibly take what hearing I have left. Thank you for putting me onto this little polymer jewel.

@@T0tenkampf yea I Noticed that and traded mine off Kicked myself ever since I Semi recently picked up a Gen ll FDE put a few Vids out on Love the CX4 !
It's not as loud because the length of the barrel allows time for the powder to burn before the round leaves the barrel. Thus quieter firing. I got the 9mm carbine and love it. Red dote on the way.
I bought one maybe 13 years ago, in .45 ACP, because I have more firearms in that caliber. Two thing I dislike about this wonderful gun is that the trigger is a little mushy, but more important is the lack of higher cap mags than the factory 8 rds. I knew this going in, but assumed that a adaptor for Glock mags would come out. Not the end of the world, but it's weird that all my 45 handguns have larger cap mags than my carbine.
Oh Hickok! You just told your viewers to pull out the safety switch to disassemble. 😁 I know you know where the correct pin is (in front of the trigger, instead of above it) but I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw that. Yes, I own a CX4.
Love the video. A lot of people complain about the trigger but a lot of people also don't take into consideration the application of the weapon system. It is not meant to be a competition rifle (in fact its not even a rifle so fyi to those that keep calling it that), its not meant to be a long range shooter... its in essence a PISTOL CARBINE. Or in the military world of the MX4 storm version... a submachine gun. A light pull precision metal trigger application is neither required (and possibly not even as safe) or needed in any regard to fulfill these purposes. Which is why it is designed as the really light weight, pistol caliber system it was meant to be. Sure you can change the trigger out if you prefer. But it is absolutely unnecessary and not even remotely relevant to the weapon systems intended application.
Hey guys! kickok45 you're awesome! So yeah I agree. the sites are great but very difficult to get comfortable to use them. it's a little awkward. My buddy has a storm and I have a ruger pc carbine we went to the range together for a little comparison and that was the only thing I felt a little uncomfortable with was how you couldn't get your cheek down to the rear site it was almost too compact? Idk it was also a little weird having the mag in the pistol grip with a rifle. I was looking to quick change as if I was shooting a AR and I was like fumbling lol but it was a nice firearm ! had zero issues ran a bunch of different ammo through her ! ok everyone be safe!
8:40 That happened to mine as well. The magazine follower had some plastic flash that i removed with some sand paper. It allows the follower to rise enough to engage the last shot hold open mechanism. Of the Beretta mags I used; only the original CX4 mag had the funky follower.
I think that was an MDS mag that was having the issue locking the bolt back. The other Beretta-marked 30 rounders seem to work fine. The MDS mags are made for Beretta but don't seem to be quite as good as the actual Beretta mags.
Picked one up today, well...paid for it anyway. It's one of the most functional autoloaders here behind enemy lines ( Only needed the thumbhole covered up ) in CA...and I had boxes of standard capacity magazines from being a Beretta 92FS owner from the late 80's...so it was a no brainer purchase for me. I guess it doesn't come with LOP spacers, you threw on a slip on pad...hopefully those spacers are easy to find. In 10 days I will ring the steel !!!

And she said did u know the magazines where in here.... I was happy cause I found the ones I was about to replace.
I got a Ruger PC Carbine to share mags with my Glock 19x.
I always thought it was cool to have a handgun/ carbine setup like that.
Just got my new CX4 Storm in. I need to get it to the range!
Ordering mine today, been wanting one of these and the time has come !
You won't be disappointed...
@@deusvult7559 Thanks for commenting. I'm right now doing some more reviews to make sure that's what I want. I think it's a cool concept rifle that's get a world of potential, especially after putting a red dot, my eyes are ageing. Thanks for adding to the research.
Recently got this in FDE 9mm from Bud’s and the one mag that came with mine also occasionally doesn’t lock back. The 30 rounders I ordered have not had that issue. 🤷♂️
I have impaired hearing, in fact my left ear is purely decorative. So this little 9mm carbine is ideal for home defense for me. Touching off an AR or shotgun indoors would quite possibly take what hearing I have left. Thank you for putting me onto this little polymer jewel.
I definitely fall into the love it camp. I've had mine for years and it never hiccups. Solid, accurate gun... damn thing just works.
I have one in 40 cal and love it!
I've had mine about 3 years now, I got a Romeo 5xdr green dot at the same time, I just mounted it on the rifle 2 weeks ago! Why didn't I do it immediately, I love this carbine and sight combo!
You LOVE that thing, huh Hickok? Lol. Great video as always Sir!
The Swampfox Blade is an excellent optic for this rifle.
Hickock is a treasure. The grandpa some of us never had.
Love mine, still one of my favourites!
this man never misses a shot
These are great I have a Gen 1 W/SierraPapa trigger upgrade I actually did a cut out on the handle and made it more familiar these are definitely the Cadillac of carbines Super Smooth ,Deadly accurate stable platform love these things. Holosun 510 C with it 3x magnifier is a great Optic set up! And a Morris Lecker barrel shroud to hide that pencil barrel.🤠👍👍
Moerse Lekker? Sadly, they are no more. Looked like a nice piece.
@@T0tenkampf yea I Noticed that and traded mine off Kicked myself ever since I Semi recently picked up a Gen ll FDE put a few Vids out on Love the CX4 !
Cool Gun
I sure wish that I become just like you when i come up in the ages 😉 love your videos man 💖
I love mine .shot one ten years ago and finally pulled the trigger its light cheep ammo and accurate
It's not as loud because the length of the barrel allows time for the powder to burn before the round leaves the barrel. Thus quieter firing. I got the 9mm carbine and love it. Red dote on the way.
GREAT SHOOTING MATE, KEEP UP THE GREAT INFORMATIVE VIDEOS AND ALWAYS STAY STRONG!!! 👍👍💪🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I love the reference about the color. I've told my wife about my AR, I like FDE because it makes me a better shooter
FDE is +5 TactiCool
I have a .40-cal CX4 carbine to match my .40-cal PX4 pistol. Same magazines. Same ammo.
Actually really liking that riffle, maybe in 45 or 9×21 would be cool too! I still am needing my first Beretta 92, almost bought the APX though.
Guns Fear the recoil of his shoulder!
I was just in Sevierville TN and saw the billboards for Buds! I was hoping I would run into Hickock!

That happened to mine as well.
Just got new and today shot the 9mm cx4 and it is a TACK DRIVER from 10-50yd with the factory iron/peep sights... absolutely a dream to.shoot!!
Have the px4 storm in .45, very accurate
What are you doing for mags?
I love John rocking the JRE shirt lol
Cx4 storm is a great bit of fun. Like a Buck Roger's ray gun. Just point and kapow!
legend, marksman, just a normal guy like most people BUT with crazy skills. lol. thanks always.
I have one of the older ones but love it great weapon
Picked one up today, well...paid for it anyway. It's one of the most functional autoloaders here behind enemy lines ( Only needed the thumbhole covered up ) in CA...and I had boxes of standard capacity magazines from being a Beretta 92FS owner from the late 80's...so it was a no brainer purchase for me. I guess it doesn't come with LOP spacers, you threw on a slip on pad...hopefully those spacers are easy to find. In 10 days I will ring the steel !!!
THE BIG DADDY OF GUNS IS HERE
i have my eye on one of these they look cool and seems smooth to use!
Just bought one last night for my daughter. She shoots rifles lefty so I'm hoping she likes it. Pairing it with a Holosun AEMS. It'll be fun to get to the range.
Adopt me, please...
Definitely my next weapon thank you again for the review.
Thank you.
