THANK YOU for showing the pallett it came on. Mu pool came today and, considering the size, I was certain part of my shipment was missing. Looks like im good to go.
Congrats. When I lived in NH I did the same. Installed a 30’ round above ground. Because of the way the land sloped some was in-ground. This was 15yrs ago. I knew I nothing about building pools or excavating but I rented a bobcat and went to work. It was fun and hard work. Then I built a 20’ wrap around deck leading to the pool. From the deck it appeared to be in ground. We had up to 20 people having fun at once. Took about a month working alone but I did it. I don’t live there but the memories and pictures speak a thousand words. Congrats on your pool and project. Believe me, when you look back a few years from today I’ll bring tears of joy.
This is so wonderful and I am so happy for you! It is so much hard work but the results and memories made are worth it!! Thank you so much for your sweet encouragement and for sharing your story with me! 🤍😊
Great job, much respect my Brother. I'm a do it yourself kind of dude but I would have never attempted a pool like yours. I'm doing the same but with an Intex. Thanks for the video. 🌴✌🙏✌🌴 From Thailand
Thank you so much! 💜 I will have a UA-cam video on the deck building process as soon as we get that finished. We had to get a new roof and new plumbing pipes laid in our yard this summer, so the deck is a little delayed Lol.
I have the exact same pool from the Pool Factory, only bigger. Ours is 21 x 43. Ours is sunk evenly at 27" all the way around. Just curious if you've had any issues with the walls yet being the pool is sunken to different depths? Too much pressure from the ground at one end, and too much pressure from water at the other?
Hi Dave! We have had no problems at all. As long as you don't bury your pool above the recommended level there will be no pressure from the ground, and as long as your pool is level there will be no pressure from the water. It's all about proper installation.
We had to do semi-inground because our entire backyard is a hill, otherwise we probably would not have went with a semi-inground. Ultimately, it's whatever works best for you! I hope your pool brings lots of blessings and memories!
That looks like a Melania pool ? We bought ours from the pool factory.. Melania 18x34 and paid $3500 to installed .. what size is yours ? Have you run into any issues ??
Tell them youngins that if they can make it from one side of that shallow pool to the other without touching the bottom, doesn't matter how or what technique, they know how to swim. Everyone actually knows how to swim, they just lack the confidence not to panic. This exercise just shows them they know how.
Thank you Mat! I will tell them to try that! The older ones know how to swim but the younger ones are still a little hesitant! Hope you are having a great week!😊
Very nice job. My hubby & I are considering a semi-above ground pool. Your video makes it doable...with a some work, of course. BTW, you have to share the deck addition.😉
Thank you so much for watching and for the sweet comment!🥰 You can definitely do it! Just take breaks when you feel like giving up and grab a snack....food always makes you feel better!🤣 And we will definitely be showing the deck once it's finished! 🤍
Nice video, well done. All of these videos like yours are very helpful so thank you for posting. We have had one of these in our garage for about 1 year now running into obstacles installing it, so it's still on pallets. Everyone we ask about these pools and installation has a completely different "opinion" about how they should be installed, and none of their answers match videos like yours of people actually installing their own. Very frustrating, so in the end we may just end up doing ours ourselves as well. We are in Northern KY. Wish us luck!
Thank you! We watched a lot of videos and tried to learn as much as we could before installing. It was hard work but definitely worth it. Good luck on your pool! I am from Kentucky as well!
If you go to The Pool Factory website, they have everything laid out for you when you start your order. You order the type of pool, size, liner, padding, pump, chemicals, ladder, everything. So start there! We ordered a thick liner which was an upgrade and extra padding for under the liner. Then for the pump we ordered a Pool Frog which is a mineral filtration system. The mineral pack and chlorine comes with it. It is the best and keeps our pool crystal clear. The Pool Factory will send you instructions with everything you order and they also have UA-cam videos you can watch. Then you will need to go to a hardware store for shovels, levels, bricks and things to put the pool together with. You will also have to buy sand, gravel, and tubing for your drainage system. Watch all of the videos and read all of the instructions. Take it step by step, take your time, and be patient. Don't let it overwhelm you. It's hard work but it's worth it!
I am installing a pool from pool factory right now and have that exact tractor. What is the water weight you have on the back called and where can I get it? Would love to have some counter balance for using my forks.
Great job!! Do you have any pix with the deck? Would love to see that. Also... since a year has gone by... any lessons learned? Woulda? Coulda? Shoulda?
Thank you so much, Stephen!☺️ We still don't have our deck finished yet, but will post a video once that is completed. And so far we have zero regrets! The pool is holding up strong and we have had no problems! Our family loves it!
I'm not sure either. We just followed the directions that said not to bury the pool past a certain depth. 😊 We had to put ours partially in the ground because of the hill in our backyard. We didn't want to level the entire yard, so the semi in ground worked best for us.
The land around the pool can collapse when empty. To do it safely you should create a concrete wall structure to prevent that from happening, then you can safely install the pool as low as the pool can be
Hi Joseph, yes we did ground it by attaching copper wire to concrete slabs around the outer perimeter of the pool and then running it up to the inside of the skimmer.
@@caudillcottage so you did not drill into the pool supports for bonding? Did it pass code in your county or did you not have to pull a permit? Asking because my pool is sitting here waiting for installation, but here in my county in Fl electricians or the home owner bond not the installers.
@Sue ......No, we did not drill into our pool supports. In all of the instructions and tutorials we watched on bonding, the pool supports were never drilled into. We live in the country where no permits were required and we were allowed to do everything ourselves.
Hi Chris, we used a 4" corrugated field tile for the drainage around the pool and then we used around 3 to 4 inches of sand on the bottom of the pool, covered with a black padding to keep grass from growing up through the sand and damaging the liner. Best wishes on your pool installation!
Does your pool come with a pump, filter or heater? And, how did you guys use the sand and pea gravel (drainage)? Are the side insulated and does it come with a cover? Thank you
The pool does not come with all of the things you mentioned, but it is all sold separately. When you order from the pool factory, you can also order your pump and other items from there. The siding and bottom is insulated as I showed in my video. We also ordered that from the pool factory. Their website has it all laid out when you order. Our pool cover and other essentials we ordered from Amazon. The drainage was fairly simple. We ordered drain tiles to lay around the perimeter of the pool and laid them on a weed barrier to help slow the growth of weeds. Then we just backfilled with pea gravel. It's been very efficient! I hope this helps!
This is so perfect! I actually just ordered the 15x30 and we are thinking of trying to do it simi inground ourselves. (You have the same upgraded liner we picked too!). What was the most frustrating part of it all?? I can’t wait to see what you do with a deck.
The hardest part was actually putting up the metal walls! They were so heavy and we actually needed more help than just the two of us. That's why I didn't record that part Lol. So definitely make sure you have help! I hope you enjoy your new pool! It's worth the hard work!😊
@@caudillcottage You made an amazing work! Fabiosa Media is interested in discussing some licensing offer to make this video reach greater audiences. How can we get in touch with you?
We had a 30 by 15 installed also, & hired professionals.. cost about 8 grand just for installation..& took a couple of weeks. I can't imagine people trying to do this themselves with not much experience. Pretty big job..lot of money, but we didn't really have other options at the time. Good luck to anyone trying to take this on!
Hey, thank you for sharing this! great job! I'd love to know if your walls sway / move at all when the pool is in use. Does your pool have the rolled up aluminum/metal walls or are they individual slat walls? Thanks
Hi there! Thank you so much! No, our walls do not move or budge at all when we are in it. If your walls are bulging or moving at all, then there may be some foundational issues. We have a solid metal wall that came rolled up in one piece and it is very sturdy. It was the hardest part of the pool to put up because it was so heavy.
@@caudillcottage Thank you! I'm actually in the process of purchasing right now so I don't yet have a pool. Been looking at an AquaSport52 which is super strong. Would you happen to have any videos of the pool when there is wave/movement? I'm looking to wrap a deck around it and just really looking to find comfort with the rolled walls. I tried calling a few places, non of the companies seem to have any videos of the walls with movement in the pool :( - Thank you!
Hi there! Yes, the bottom rails are directly on the ground. It's also important to know to put these on the ground and not on top of sand, as the sand will wash out and make your pool walls collapse. Hope this helps!
Yes, we made drainage for rain water around the pool so that water could drain off of the hill and not set in the ground, since our pool is partially in ground. We dug out two feet all around the outside of the pool and laid drainage tiles in the ground and covered them with small gravel. It's not to drain water out of the pool. We use a hose to drain our pool half way before we close it in the fall. I hope this makes sense. ☺️
Using the mini-tractor made the initial excavation easy, but it compacted the soil making it difficult to level. Should have dug to about 6" above the intended depth, and the rest by hand. And you didn't need to pay for drinking water quality. $300 better spent elsewhere.
We are perfectly happy with our work and the way we decided to go about this project. The ground needed to be compacted as we went along to better secure the foundation of the pool. A tractor or skid loader was the perfect tool to accomplish this. And having clean water delivered was worth every penny, as we have well water at our home which is not suggested for filling pools. We did a lot of research before this build and would not have done anything any different.
6 inches of dirt on that size hole would be 10 cu ic yards of dirt. It's definitely way easier to scrape off an inch of compacted dirt here and there there than hand dig 10 cubic yards of compacted dirt and then haul it out with a wheel barrow.
