How good are Intex pools?? I've seen a guy on you tube that said that Intex pools was junk because the support rods rust and start falling apart after a year or so. And they are hard to get new ones. Because the guy in the video said that their customer service sucks. But over all the pool looks great...
matthew summy I had one before this one and it lasted for 8 years before we replaced it. The frame was still in good shape. We replaced it because we wanted a bigger pool. I’m sure some people can say they had a different experience, but as far as we have experienced they’ve been great.
I had a purespa jaccuzy from intex and it was a pile of shit along with their customer service, I sent it out to get fixed SIX TIMES along with calling them and emailing them but it came back just as broken EVERY TIME. Finally after getting into contact with the national Intex support boss or whatever I sent it out AGAIN and after a month I got it back finally fixed. Now as far as their pools go I have a 4 by 2 meter Prism frame pool and yes the frame does start rusting and the little plastic pieces break really easely and the pool gets random little holes in it for no reason pretty easely as well. So in short their products are not super bad but pray to god that you never need some part or some support from their website and their customer support.
Just sayin…. Water collecting in your frame box the pool sits in…. My same Intex (normal above ground) had sunk just an inch into sand/dirt after 2 years, that little bit of dampness, and 2 years later the bottom of that leg and a couple others were rusted / rotted …l so I have no idea how your pool is going to survive the exterior leg frames from eroding, unless you have a sump pump down there. ? How about giving us an update?
We are on our fourth season and we haven’t had any issues. But, our soil is sandy and drains well. We do have a pump for excess water, but it hasn’t kicked on in well over a year. It’s worked great for us, but maybe not for everyone.
@@TheTrentTribe it has about a fifth of the life. Not designed to be encased. You are going to have to remove it all at some point. They leak and rust..
@@flexor212000 inground cracks and leaks too and hurt resale value because not everyone wants a high maintenance hole in the ground. his pool is waaay cheaper to maintain than in ground pool
We looked at that, but the cost at the time was so much more. $7k all in for this. Almost $40k for everything with the next option. This was fun and so far, we haven’t had any issues at all.
It’s still going strong. I foresee us replacing a leg or two at some point before the liner. I hope to get ten years out of the liner because we had a round one before that lasted about 8 years and it was completely exposed to the elements.
Lol. $7k for this and quotes for a “real” one were coming in at $40k. This was fun and a lot less expense on us. Plus, you wouldn’t have stopped by to comment on a real pool. 😜

Oh shit... I needed a video like this last year when I was trying to decide how to set up this pool if I bought one. Turns out I held off and am ordering one now for this summer. Thank you SOOOO much for the video.
Kelstr you’re welcome! We found the best deal of all places on Newegg.com. Total price shipped and all ended up being $900, which included the filtrations system.
@@TheTrentTribe that’s a great price I just paid 2100 for one. Was going for a normal in ground but got multiple quotes for a smaller pool at 85k-103k with 20% deposit & would be scheduled for next year 🙃
We still love it. It’s held up well and we are still glad we did it. Not sure what it would cost now, but probably still way less than an inground pool.
@@raphaeladavid1579 roughly that time. It depends each time on how much we are using our water in the house. We have a well, which is good. It would probably be less though if we had city water because the pressure is probably better. So there’s a lot of factors that could change it I’m sure.
I ordered one myself and am locating it in my property. One question, is the pool 16x32 fully assembled to the metal angled exterior legs? My location is a tight fit, hoping it is 16x32 to the full assembled extents.
I’m pretty sure the pool itself is that measurement. The legs stick out further, but not much further. I’m guessing that the total footprint would be around 18x34 on the low end to 20x36 on the high end. Hope you’re works out.
We dug the hole 24x40 feet. The pool itself is 16x32 feet and the deck is 4 foot all around except for one side that’s 8 foot by 24 foot. Fun project and ours has held up great.
I am a software engineer and have no experience with construction so excuse my stupid questions: 1. I want to keep an above ground pool, i have an area in my backyard that used to be an inground pool per the previous owner. Now it's all covered up and even has grass growing. My plan is just to cut the grass and lay this pool on top of it. The area is already pretty leveled. Do you have any recommendations? Do I still need the concrete blocks?
skrface13 we don’t have a lot of experience either, which is one reason this was fun for us. Lol I would still use the concrete pavers under the legs, just because our old pool legs ended up settling in the ground a good ways after a few years.
2 years ago i made a same pool at my home..in 2 months of summer the space betwen pool an dirt under.the deck that is made become a home of milion small and big animals, bugs..etc.. after that we call a help to remove the pool..
How long did it take you to do this? I just bought the same pool and really want do do this, but I know nothing about the pump setup do I need any kind of water lines?
It took us a week, working most of the daylight hours. The gentleman that helped us do it has blueprints for this with all the details. If you want that I can share his number. He charges $75 for them. The pump setup is very figured it out as you go style. Lol
Man we completely screwed up setting ours up, two walls are essentially caved in and despite hiring guys to level out the ground the walls are still bent.
Excellent job!! I would like to do something similar. I have a doubt, the rainwater that is trapped between the pool and the boards how do they make it disappear?. Thanks
Jorge Almodovar contact our install guy and either he can do it for you or sell you the blueprints. His name is David and his number is 1(803) 942-8191.
Good question! Our dirt has a lot of sand in it already, so it’s worked great for us. We did sand under a previous pool and it helped, but this is about the same as the other one we did.
@@TheTrentTribe we did this with our last house but backfilled with sand then built a deck. I should have done the wall like you did just for future issues like replacing parts. I also got a larger sand filter and installed a real pool inlet and dual jets on one end. It was nice. Sold that house and will do it on the next one but headwalls this time.
@@hometheatergurus that’s cool! We would have done a concrete or more permanent, but the lowest quotes were in the $40k range. This was $7k total for the deck, pool, digging and all. The liner will wear out, but we plan on buying another pool the same size and dropping it down in there.
I like many of your videos. this summer I bought a similar pool, but smaller, and when I filled it with water, it was crooked, how did you manage to put it right?
Thanks for watching our videos! ❤️ We didn’t have any problems, but we began by kicking out the sides from the inside when it was empty and doing it every inch of water until it had a foot or so of water in it. But you could always drain it and fix it I guess. We drain ours in the spring and start with fresh water. We kick the sides out then as well and adjust anything that needs adjusted.
Very nice. Please if you wouldn't mind keep this video updated and let us know how long the pool lasts. I have a much smaller round 18'x48" that is on its 3rd and possibly final summer. If we had set it up correctly like this I am sure it would last longer as our only issues are those from being set up incorrectly. I would love to do something like this after we buy a home to span the gap until we can have an in ground pool put in. Did you pay for the excavator to dig or did you have access to one?
Thank you. We plan on doing an update soon. It’s been a year and we are still glad we did it. Our friend has an excavator and knows how to do decking, so we hired him to help for the week. He didn’t mind our family jumping in and helping to save money. Win win for everyone.
We used to live in TN, so we know about the clay mud. Good for some stuff, but awful for others. Lol I guess if you did it, you’d have to have a good pump to suck water out. We do, but it doesn’t kick on except in the spring when the water table is high.
only problem i see is you would need a sump pump for the area around the outer edge of the pool because if that were to fill up from excessive rain youd lose your pressure advantage from the water in the pool pushing outward to keep the walls from falling inward
Excellent idea, what was the cost of all the wood for project? I live In Florida and plan to do same thing with a smaller intex pool.
Thanks! Good question. My overall was $7k, but that was for the pool, deck, labor, etc. Without pulling out paperwork, I’m guessing the deck was $3k or so.

Thank you for the update. Wish we could do your project! Appreciate your video. 👍😎👍
If you’re gonna go through all that why not just make an in ground pool? Just wondering.
Sunny Kay good question. This was about a fifth of the cost compared to an in ground.
@@TheTrentTribe it has about a fifth of the life. Not designed to be encased. You are going to have to remove it all at some point. They leak and rust..
no one wants to have debt. this is waaaay cheaper than an original inground and works just as great
@@flexor212000 inground cracks and leaks too and hurt resale value because not everyone wants a high maintenance hole in the ground. his pool is waaay cheaper to maintain than in ground pool
Wanna spend a little bit more and just get fiberglass are you going to pay almost to same for these expensive as above ground pools
We looked at that, but the cost at the time was so much more. $7k all in for this. Almost $40k for everything with the next option. This was fun and so far, we haven’t had any issues at all.
Thank you for sharing this video!
It’s inspired us to install a pool like this,
Can hardly wait to get started.
After 3 years, has the pool failed yet? I thought the quality of the vinyl liner for these intex was sub par.
It’s still going strong. I foresee us replacing a leg or two at some point before the liner. I hope to get ten years out of the liner because we had a round one before that lasted about 8 years and it was completely exposed to the elements.
For the trouble you could’ve just constructed a real swimming pool
Lol. $7k for this and quotes for a “real” one were coming in at $40k. This was fun and a lot less expense on us. Plus, you wouldn’t have stopped by to comment on a real pool. 😜
Ohhh mann, unzählige Liter Wasser und ein Riesenaufwand....Schon mal was von Gegenstromanlagen gehört ?😂
Does it all fit in the back of a pickup? 10’ trailer? Or is something bigger needed?
Do you mean when it’s still in the box? If so, we had it freighted to our front door. It fit on two pallets, but could fit in the back of a truck.
The nice goldfish intraspecifically hum because teeth unlikely tick amid a public waitress. giddy, delightful decrease
Have you had any issues with water accumulating? I’m working on doing this, should I have a sump pump?
I have a 5.75meter by 2.75 I guess 17 m3 I live in Holland would love to buy that one. But then I can't come in my garden anymore ... u People need to be happy with so much free space to live in.
Now making a wood fired pool heater.
rico chet you’re right! Hello to you in Holland. 👋
@@TheTrentTribe That pool going for $2500-$5500 now, crazy
John Lambert I think Intex needs to send us a check. 😂
@@TheTrentTribe that’s a great price I just paid 2100 for one. Was going for a normal in ground but got multiple quotes for a smaller pool at 85k-103k with 20% deposit & would be scheduled for next year 🙃
@@ImDead1nside holy cow! Maybe we should go into that business then. 😂
wow this is the best Intex pool setup I found so far! nice!
Thank you very much!
You sir are a stud
Thank you so much, my family bother to buy the same one
What’s the name of the pool?
@@sijulandia It says it in the title
Angel Martinez I mean where did he buy it
Why not just put cement in the hole and have a regular pool… After all that work?
$7k for this compared to $40k. Plus you wouldn’t have stopped by to see a normal pool. 😂
@@TheTrentTribe Cement costs 30k?
@@nsc217 a cement pool quote at the time was $40k. That was for an even smaller one than this.
@@TheTrentTribe wow, this was definitely better than lol
Looking at this pool now, how has it held up after 3 years? Would you still recommend or go with a different quality?
We still love it. It’s held up well and we are still glad we did it. Not sure what it would cost now, but probably still way less than an inground pool.
how long did it take to fill
please answer its for an assignment
It takes around 30 hours with our water pressure to fill our pool.
@@TheTrentTribe okay and is that the EXACT or PRECISE timing or you cant recall? (sorry if I sounded rude 😔)
I had an intex years ago. Half this size. Nice pools. Very nice job on the install!
SuperUber1101 thank you very much!
SuperUber1101 What happened to the pool? ☺️
Die ganze Arbeit für einen Pool, der sicher nicht sehr lange hält. Aber sieht schon cool aus und war sicher auch sehr preiswert.
But how do you drain?? You cannot access anymore the valves on the bottom, or do you drain from top in another way?
Hello what is the size of the hole?
You add how many meters all around the Pool to build the deck?
Si finally what is the size for the Pool+the deck
Lol
I would still use the concrete pavers under the legs, just because our old pool legs ended up settling in the ground a good ways after a few years.
2 years ago i made a same pool at my home..in 2 months of summer the space betwen pool an dirt under.the deck that is made become a home of milion small and big animals, bugs..etc.. after that we call a help to remove the pool..
mastaš men mastaš men hate to hear that happened. We’ve kept it sprayed and haven’t had any so far. Hopefully it stays that way.
Excellent!! Where did you bought that stairs? Thanks!
Thank you. We just googled pool steps and picked out this one. More for an inground pool, so make sure to search pool steps.
Lol
It looks amazing but I wonder if the township tried to charge you extra property taxes because of that pool now being under the ground.
Thank you. Taxes went up some, but not bad.
Man we completely screwed up setting ours up, two walls are essentially caved in and despite hiring guys to level out the ground the walls are still bent.
Oh no. That really stinks. I hope you can fix it.
Thinking about doing something very similar.. How is the pool holding up as of now
Great! No problems. We’ve upgraded our pump to a stronger one. That’s it. Loving it. Don’t regret doing it at all.
@@TheTrentTribe Thanks 😊
Amazing... It is wow.... Like is goddddd
Excellent job!! I would like to do something similar. I have a doubt, the rainwater that is trapped between the pool and the boards how do they make it disappear?. Thanks
Thank you. Our soil drains well, but we still installed an automatic pump just in case. So far so good for us.
the original filter pump really works?
... think it isnt strong enough
a one horse sand filter came with ours. It works fine. We added a salt system as well though.
How do you keep the space around the pool from filling up with water?
Не знаю, опускается ли у вас температура ночью, ниже 15 градусов, но в нашем климате, я бы добавил утеплитель под и по бокам бассейна.
EPScrete
How I concact you? I'm interested.
Jorge Almodovar contact our install guy and either he can do it for you or sell you the blueprints. His name is David and his number is 1(803) 942-8191.
hye im from malaysia .. does u mean it lenght 16ft ??
16 feet is the width and 32 feet is the length.
Its much easyer to make a normal beton pool. Intex roating each year, I ve seen a lot of videos
How do u get to the pump? I seen you put it under the deck. Do u have a door for it?
Also how to empty the pool water in order to change it ? Appreciate the answers of those two important questions.
why did you not put sand under it, has it worked fine without by directly putting it on the dirt
Good question! Our dirt has a lot of sand in it already, so it’s worked great for us. We did sand under a previous pool and it helped, but this is about the same as the other one we did.
Great job! What brand are your steps?
Very nice. What do you do about draining rainwater out of the trenches.
Hey! Thank you. We have an automatic pump set up that drains out excess water. Our soil drains well, so it doesn’t run very much.
@@TheTrentTribe definitely way cheaper and really it's more fun than an in ground where you spend most of the time trying not to drown. 😁
I like many of your videos. this summer I bought a similar pool, but smaller, and when I filled it with water, it was crooked, how did you manage to put it right?
Thanks for watching our videos! ❤️
We didn’t have any problems, but we began by kicking out the sides from the inside when it was empty and doing it every inch of water until it had a foot or so of water in it.
F'n, A guys. Was thinking of doing something like this. I like the finished product time for a big pool party
Would this work in TN on CLAY??
We used to live in TN, so we know about the clay mud. Good for some stuff, but awful for others. Lol
I guess if you did it, you’d have to have a good pump to suck water out. We do, but it doesn’t kick on except in the spring when the water table is high.
What a waste of a good hole. Swim ponds are the way to go
😂I’m not gonna argue with you there. Some catfish and some swimming. 👏🏻
Vous avez passer trop d étape notamment l habillage du plancher dommage on ne sais pas comment reposent la terrase
You could've made your own pool if u drilled the ground already
Seeing an entire family labouring with love and devotion makes my heart full.
only problem i see is you would need a sump pump for the area around the outer edge of the pool because if that were to fill up from excessive rain youd lose your pressure advantage from the water in the pool pushing outward to keep the walls from falling inward
thebubba1 we actually installed one a little while after this build. Our soil is good, but it’s good to have just in case. Thanks for the comment!
