Here is a new-players guide on how to play VRChat!! :) This is a great video if you’ve never played the game before, or maybe you played but got overwhelmed. If you’ve been to VRChat events and heard things like “everyone needs a yellow avatar” or want to know how to reduce lag when you’re in an instance full of 80 people- this video is also for you! I literally thought of everything I wish I knew when I first started playing, and covered it all. If you have more questions (or wanna make a custom avatar) then join my Discord ^-^

I have a question, I looked at this because I couldn't get in at the start in where it says: message. And connect, I put in my IP address but it won't let me in... I kinda need help...
Good resource for new players- comment for the algorithm gods.
Yes
What a real one
For the algorithm
holds up knife "What type of sacrifices do the algorithm gods prefer?"
Huge fan!
VRChat needs more tutorials like this since I see new players confused on how to do things. Especially with the new UI! Great work PHIA!
fr i cant even find the controls setting
This new funky friday update is a lil weird
I've realized UI interfaces require prior knowledge due to the fact that if they were easy for new people to navigate, they would be clunky AF to people after a week or 2.
ye I used to spend all my time in the hub so I could teach new people how to use their menu. Good way to make friends. But with all the quest users that just scream at you or get touchy I just stay away from the hub now.
After having vrchat for like 2 years, I still feel like I don’t know how it works. This video helps a lot. Thanks phia!
I've been playing the game for 2 years, but it's always nice to learn some new things!
@Pastelle Cute the game is free
@@ilianis1292 it has monthly subscription
@@azreeafandi8837I think only if you get the +
Me, a Known User, watching this: "Fascinating"
I'm out here watching this after playing since 2018 and having 1.1k hours thinking the same thing LMAOOO
I've been trying to get into VR Chat (desktop mode before investing in VR Hardware) for years but every time I open the game: I walk around, somebody says hi to me, and I bloop back to my default spawn point because I'm scared that something creepy or traumatizing might happen.
But this video helps me feel more safe and confident. I think I will try to get back into it again. Thank you so so so much!
How did it go? 😅
You need real socialization first
@@wills242 To be completely honest with you, I don't think real socialization is goanna help there. I do just fine in IRL crowds, but VRC has a special way of creeping me out. Maybe it's the prepubescent Anime Av with a 40-year-old male voice coming out of it, but it's all discomfort, all the time.
@@DFX2KX yeah I agree, she’s screwed!
same. it’s not like i’m a big talker either but i have no problem walking up and starting a convo with strangers irl. on the other hand, in VRChat this is completely flipped - i am deathly afraid of people talking to me, and if they do, i can’t say a word back. it just makes me feel shitty about myself. i don’t have a problem with the voice on the other end, i think i’m scared of people hearing my own heavy accent? needless to say, i’ve only played it two or three times before quitting.
Thank you Phia! My first time in the game, I knew nothing and it lead to a really terrible experience. But this video has restored my interest in giving VRChat a second chance.
I've been playing vrchat for a few years but it's always nice to know something new so I watched. Turns out I did learn some new things. Thanks for making this, it's rly helpful 😊
Great intro for new users! Sadly there will always be some malicious user out there but VRChat is definitely has more wonderful people to meet and hangout with!
This was one of the first VRChat videos that I've watched - I first watched this before I even got a vr headset. This video made me extremely excited to play VRChat. After playing it for a few months now, I still watch this video and look up to you! Thanks Phia! :D
Very thorough. And nice to have an updated guide for new users. Thanks for your hard work!
Very informative. Thank you making this tutorial. Ive been looking into trying out VRchat as I want to meet new people and this guide is certainly going to help me ease into community much smoother.
I'm not sure if I missed it - but another small change that can give you 3-4 frames in a crowded world - is disabling anti-aliasing. Yes, you will see jagged lines, but at least you'll have a few frames to see what is going on. (safety settings -> performance -> adv graphics -> multi-sampling anti-aliasing (select disabled))
I've been playing VRchat for like... a year now, and still learned something!
Thanks, PHIA!
Exactly the kind of toolbox I've come to expect from good software. Extremely customizable, just as digital body projection should be. GJ, devs, and thanks for the tutorial.
That’s why I haven’t moved up from visitor after playing it so many times! Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
I'm very new to vrchat, and this tutorial helped a lot! also, you have such a great voice for guides and walk through lol, keep making great content!!!!
Yo finally. I can learn how to use this platform.
exactly the tutorial i needed! i got interested again in VR Chat lately (never played the game, just watched a lot of streams back in 2017/2018), seeing Kimple's name on this video brought back so many good memories omg, thank you for the video
I was not sure how VR chat works but watching your videos. This is actually the first time and the first video. I’m watching right now. It’s now teach me something new so thank you very much.
I already knew all of this but I still watched it from start to finish and comment to support the algorithm
🥺
Omg you don’t know how much I wanted to know how peoples hair moves so naturally this really helped! Thanks Phia 😊
I've been playing vrchat for a while but this video still taught me things I didn't know :3
How much is ur vr
your voice and personality is very calming and thanks for the help
As someone who is buying a vr set soon (and is very excited about vrchat) this video is so easy to understand! Not to mention your voice is so fun to listen to, it scratches my brain in some way haha

VR seems so cool!! I love it and I’ll definitely be getting me one 😊

I'm in my 30s and having trouble keeping up with new technologies or ways to interact with people since Covid times..this tutorial is very clear and helps a lot! I subbed, thanks :)
God Dang I'm getting a Vr For Christmas*̣̥☆·͙̥❄‧̩̥࿌ིྀ྇˟͙☃️˟͙࿌ིྀ྇‧̩̥❄·͙̥̣☆*̣̥ I'M SO HAPPY
First time I got vrchat I was super confused and didn’t even know what servers would be good thanks for the video
HOORAY a beginner guide
This came at a good time. I'm been trying to jump in for a couple days now
A very well made beginner video. I have a friend that might be getting a Quest 2 soon so I'll definitely point them to this video in the future.
Hey it's only been covered and maybe like one or two places on UA-cam and hasn't worked very well for me (or even outlined properly for that matter) but do you think it would be possible to do a tutorial video on how to port a Tilt Brush creation into a VR Chat world? Things have changed quite a bit since Poly was discontinued, but even on the Quest 2 version, you can export your creations into .glb it's importing/exporting them that I have trouble with.
I've seen some really good worlds made in vrchat with Tilt Brush.
Even the effects were ported over somehow.
I loved this tutorial! Also, your voice is perfect for this videos. English is not my first language and I understood perfectly, I've seen other people do this and they talk really fast or they have an accent.
thanks, just start today, this help a lot.
I am very new to VR Chat and this video really helps someone like myself out. Now that i know i can mute other people, my future in VR Chat is going to be soo much better. Cheers! 😁👍
Oh my god thank you so much. My birthday is in a few days on 09.09. and I’ll get me a PC and start playing VRC. I can’t wait! It looks so fun!! Thank you sm!
incredibly helpful!
as a person who has 2 hours of rn i find this very helpful. my game was very laggy and i could hardly move and now its way better
This was helpful so much thx for the tips and I’ll make sure to use them!!!
Im watching this video because im getting a vr headset this week and don’t want to go into the game blindly. Thank you for the video
Not new but still appreciate this video so that we can grow the VRChat community!
I love how many of these issues have already been updated and implemented on since this video, mainly the fallback avatar system
Awesome tutorial channel!
I've been thinking about playing vrc again, and I got a pang of nostalgia when I saw the Black Cat. Vrc was hard to play without this knowledge, this is good to know!
Thank you, PHIA! I'm a new VRChat user and it feels like my first day of school all over again🤮
