- The Colorado Avalanche exchange handshakes with the Nashville Predators after defeating them in a four-game sweep in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

This is why hockey is the greatest sport.. they spend 4-7 games beating each other over the head.. and at the end its "great job, congrats, and good luck".
I love hocket.
@@freedom3594 hocket is the BESY!
@@uhohDavinci I agree. Nothing is more awesoma than hocket!
@@ThisHandleFeatureIsStupid Yall stop, it's 3am and you've got me wheezing and it isn't even that funny. Ig that's just what hocket does to people

MacKinnon to Duchene: "So is this the playoff hockey you expected when you wanted out of Colorado?"
lol
Really cool to watch every season when this happens, whether it's your team winning, losing, or a series that doesn't involve your team. Maybe not completely unique to the sport but definitely stands out as a staple. As an avs fan I have nothing but respect for the preds, they have a pro, classy organization and they fought hard this season. onto the next and we got 12 more dubs to go! Let's hoist this cup boys!!!
Kinda helps wash the disappointment away to see players smile and just put the series to rest. Also, neat to see the countrymen chat and kid each other. Lots of Fins on these 2 teams. Good luck next round, hopefully it's a more competitive series.
I hope avs finish in the semis
As an avs fan I don't think you can judge Connor Ingram for this series . He stepped up and started most of the series and performed great . I would like to see how he does as a starting goalie for any team in the NHL . I will be following Ingram in the future to see how he does .
for sure, he stood on his head game 2
You absolutely can judge him. He played like a goalie that deserved to start in a playoff series. He was excellent. Then there was game 2 which he was on another level.
This exit was not his fault he played like a stud for sure
Did anyone really expect Nashville to have any kind of chance to win this series? I hope not.
@@trvman1 when Saros was out. I was like “Yeah Nashville is screwed.”
Darryl sutter spoke truly
1:32
Duchene “Hey bruh, ask Sakic if I can come back to Colorado.”
Mac “Yeah dude totally. I’ll talk to him”
Duchene “Thanks man. Put in a good word for me”
Mac “No problem. Good game”
@The MN Wild Guy so that's the reason everyone seemed to hate him..
Honour, dignity and class. The tradition of the handshakes sets hockey apart from other sports. The only thing even close to it comes from rugby and cricket.
This is a video you need to show the younger generation no matter how hard you battle the opponent at the end of the day everyone is human and you line up like this and shake hands and say good game you guys played well and good luck moving forward…
Nice to see this back. Sportsmanship at the best
Pass it on!
Yeah it’s great , dirty it up between 0-60 then shake hands afterwards
Nice to see Nate and Duchene talk a bit in the line, no bad blood
The Stanley Cup Playoffs are the best tournament in professional sport. The hardest to win, the hardest fought and the classy handshake. When all is played and a champion is apparent, the commissioner hands the Stanley Cup to the players who won it all.
I love this part. This was a great series. I would of loved to have the Avs close out the series on home ice but in this case in 4 games is ok. Kuemper can rest his eye for a few days. In this case watching Nichushkin push Mikko with his stick to get him moving in line . Mikko loves to talk. Congrats to Kadri for completing round 1. Gabe needs to get his two little boys (Mikko and Cale) under control.
Mikko was hugging with Granlund, propably asking if Granny going to join team Finland in the world championships. I am sure hoping he would.
@@jeffgrant8228 I meant have the Preds win game #4, come back to Colorado for game #5 and play that in front of Avs fans.
Not to hard to understand. At least nothing would have been thrown on the ice. Hope that explains why. At least now Kuemper can have a few extra days.
Not very often a teams hard work , personality, relationships make you become a fan. They are so hungry , such great players holy crap!
You know all the stuff that happened, has happened, and will happen, I have respect for the Predators. They’re a solid roster, and I don’t doubt they’re gonna be a threat for more years to come 🙏 respect.
After this game I have a strong feeling who will win the Stanley cup... and who will be MVP of the play off: Makar, he Is incredible
Certainly if the Avalanche go all the way, then Makar has a pretty chance at the Conn Smythe trophy.
That penalty at the end was devastating. I was hoping for overtime, at least...no dice.
And the WSH/FLA overtime lasted only 4 minutes.
Getting robbed of my overtime fix over here! 🤬
Only that game, an OT in this series, and then that triple OT game. So many blowout games and very few overtimes so far this year
That PIT/NYR OT in game 1 was epic though!
Wait, did Kadri make it out of the first round without a suspension?
He did that in 2020 bubble playoffs aswell and was the 2nd best player on the team after MacK.
Hahahhaha . They almost suspended him for sneezing in the 3rd period of game 4 ..
Amazing what can happen when you don't have an entire fanbase/referee department on your back despite reality itself.
I had hoped the Predators would win one or two of the games - however, they are a class team and will be back again. Enjoy a great summer, guys.
12 more to go. GO AVS GO!
Biggest Surprise of all...Nazem Kadri not being suspender round 1...
Fun fact: Connor Ingram - 3 total NHL games played before this series/0.879 SV%
Vs Avs - 4 games played/*0.913 SV%* Really excited to have him/Saros duo next year so Juice doesn't have to play 67 games again. GG Avs, don't get too much rest this week and get cold!
Good series boys - Best of luck Next year Nashville.
Nice to see Kadri get out of a playoff round without getting suspended!!
What a waste of 8 days....
Just like Darryl sutter said
Technically 6, or 7 if you can't the first playoff game day.
@@lelouchvibritannia4028 Game 1 was 7 days ago, and Nashville flew into Colorado the day before. Hence 8 days
moment when mikko rantanen and grandlund do the handshake 🤩
Lfg Avs from Saskatchewan
Hockey is a classy sport. I love that when a team loses at home to end their season, they will applaud their fans afterwards. Hard pressed to find that in other sports.
Dan Hinote congratulating the Avs on the hand shakes with a huge smile! Haha we see you! 😉 #GoAvsGo
in all hindsight its nice the preds fans stayed behind to salute their team, be even more devastating had everyone left
Let’s go Avs!
Fauci must be pass out with all the hand shakes lmao
I bet ya the bacteria in a hockey glove is powerful enough to suppress the virus anyway. at least in my mind. not exactly how that works but I bet the chems would mess with viral growth cycle
@@angusbeef7347 Oh for sure..i was just saying how fauci is so critical about every little thing.....
Why wasn't this in the highlight video 🤣
Did Predators players give the fans some their jersey, their sticks, pucks, etc.?
Also did they interact with fans like take pictures with them?
I hate seeing a team getting swept
The last time a team swept a Stanley Cup Playoff series and also won the Cup was the 2012 LA Kings. Every other team since who was on the winning side of a sweep did not win the Cup
We may look back on the 2022 playoffs as a waste of 32 days
I just feel bad for josi
Both Nichushkin and Trenin from Chelyabinsk, Russia, Traktor team! Both have #13
Челябинск = Торонто!
Или
Челябинск = Монреаль
Oh FOUR SURE
Well ya know Nashville it was nice to have you hahaha
The best to the pred's for next season
It's time for GMDP to go after 25 years in Nashville. Long, long overdue.
Wow, I was expecting more from Nashville... can't believe they were out in 4 games. Was expecting the Avs to win in 6...
@@Hjkkgg6788 last year with Saros the Preds pushed the Canes to 6 and the Preds lost mostly OT games that series this year they put up no fight
Always upsets me to see how many "fans" leave during handshakes, stand by your team no matter what and give them the respect.
Trying to beat the traffic hahaha
@@drew4296I'm use to LA traffic, that's an excuse to me lmao
🙄😒 my family and I have given 22 years and thousands of dollars to maintain our season tickets and attend every single home playoff game in franchise history from 2004 on...I think we more than earned the right to walk out pissed about the worst postseason performance in franchise history. That being said...no shame here...just outclassed. Nevertheless, it was the shakeup the team needed to make moves this off-season. Looking forward to how they respond.
We’ve done it for decades this way in Canada, knock out your teeth, but gentlemen at the conclusion.
Makar for Norris. Uhh yes
The preds forced the Avs to play on another level. Physical hockey is not the Avs's game and they had to adapt.
A sweep says otherwise... that was a pitiful effort from the Preds
They’re just as physical as the preds; to the point that they dont take dumb penalties
The Avs have always been a finesse team and not a bunch of goons. See: Todd Bertuzzi
Devastating
Hopefully the Avalanche don’t cool down with their time off. Congrats Colorado!
Not a chance they have two top 5 players in the whole NHL
Is hockey the only sport they shake after kicking the crap out of each for 4 to 7 games? I called Colorado to win but still looking for that underdog team to make a huge push, Dallas can play Stanley cup hockey just not sure if they can for 4 series. Otter that kid is amazing Dallas lock him down for 10+ he is a franchise goalie
May this...the worst defeat in Preds history...make them come out this upcoming season pissed and willing to curb stomp each opponent throughout the year.
Nashville could possibly still be playing a game 5 if not for blowing a late-season game at Arizona.
No...that final minute vs CGY stole a point. Saros left with an injury and a cold Rittich gave up two goals on 5 shots FFS, especially on 1/10 of second.
@@brandonf24 That was a factor as well, sure, but keep in mind that Nashville led an awful Arizona team 4-0 before collapsing.
Switzerland gonna win the WC 👍
Karma for Nashville only allowing locals to buy tickets and attend their games.... how pathetic.... enjoy your summer....
Minny and St. Louis shouldn't be a problem for the Avs, Calgary is about the only team that stands a chance, it would make for a good Conference Final. I think the Avs win Stanley in 6 vs NYR. I was hoping Tampa swept Toronto but a decent choke means a Game 7.
Rangers? They’re down 3-1. You think they’re gonna win 3 straight against Pittsburgh?
@@JonMa273 they easily could
@@Nathanielhiggerson66 this guy said easily lol
@@JonMa273 Yup. It's possible. Unlike most people I don't count a series over and out until one team wins 4 games, in the playoffs anything can happen.
Haha predators
That was a waste of 8 days
First step to win the cup for Colorado. They ll do IT this year. Predators? Thanks for nothing get Ready next year.
Where was Josi? Did he play? I thought defense wins championships and by todays standards josi is suppose to be one of the “best” right?!
No need for this, he played great. Avs have a champion winning team and annoyed they got early exits last three years.
Josi is not great on defense, he is otherworldly on offense, but he has to be propped up on d or hidden by his team
@@bhsdhmu he played great regular season he actually played very bad these playoffs
@@biggbluh The 2011 Canucks were a pretty devastating team..... Regardless if they didn't win the cup
Can’t wait until the Avs get destroyed in the next round
@King of Kings yeah haha
WTF!? Where is the social distancing?
Beat the Yotes in a gimme match Nashville
Would it have mattered ? The team is not good enough regardless . 5 games against someone else at best
@@About36Greekss uh yeah Colorado Is like the favorite for the cup. Much rather take on Calgary
@@ajevans1422 wouldnt have really mattered imo. Oettinger is the only reason that series is tied, i dont see how Ingram couldve done what Oettinger is doing
@@ajevans1422 Calgary aint looking so strong against Dallas.
But imagine if they still got swept by Calgary. At least this way you can say you got beat by the best team and no one blames you.
Wish pred team and fans first move for a better next season...get rid of all yellow helmets and jerseys. then from the guy that approved that.
Avs had a easy sweep.
Early exit for the weakest team in those playofs.....Trashville.
Enjoy your second time exit per the norm Crapalanche.
I don't care for either team. I am disappointed with the Av's fans. A few of the fans had class in the exit of the Preds, but far more Av fans were making classless comments and exhibiting poor sportsmanship. It is because of fans like that, that I will be cheering for whoever they play against next round.
Comments like this are funny. Like any team doesn't have bad sportsmanship somewhere in their fan base. If you find that perfect 'classy' fan base (on you tube of all places) please share with the class. Is this your first day on a youtube comment section? You also must have missed the Preds fans throwing skittles or something at Makar last night. Or is it OK when the losing teams fans act like idiots?
Ah, classless fans, like the Pred's fans throwing things at Avalanche players? And cheering when Kuemper's eye got gouged? Yeah, so classy.
@@CJ-1776 that is my entire point, in a back-handed fashion. It is nearly impossible, especially in youtube comments to find classy people on any team. It is not important my team is, what seems to be more prevalent is how bad your team is and how I might humiliate and trash your team more viciously than you trash mine.
@@DavidWoelkechannel I don’t know if you’re trying to make some sort of retraction but you clearly singled out Avs fans as classless. Whether it was intentional or not doesn’t really matter. I can only respond to what you wrote, not what you meant.
To find fans with class, you should search somewhere other than social media or UA-cam. No one has class online regardless of the fanbase.
