I love your videos and this new format is very nice-seeing the younger generation adopting your recipes. I so enjoy you as an 80 yr old daughter of a Sicilian mother whose maiden name was Ragusa (I believe the city in Italy where you were born). I so miss sharing the traditions and food with my daughters who live far away and I never see. You and your grandchildren are so sweet! Thank you for your videos and I hope you are back in your home soon.
Giovanna, Francesca, Howard, you are the family that I have lost - my new family. Thank you for sharing yourselves, your lives, your customs, your foods, your loving spirts with me. You're a lifeline for me.
I just loved this new format for your videos! What better than to watch someone else try to actually make a recipe that Giovanna, the professional chef, originally made in another video. And Francesca is so photogenic too! Loved the A la proxima volte ending carrying on the tradition set by Giovanna. Brava!
Happy New Year to you and Steve ❤️ my cell phone is showing me only half of your message, but I want to get back to you before I lose it altogether! I’m glad that you like 👍🏽 the new format. Francesca works her magic in every video and she’s a first class editor! ❤️😍❤️
And you lift MY spirits! Thank you! I so enjoy your channel, your recipes and your bright smile. Your granddaughter did a fabulous show here and the format was really fun. I hope your home is soon back to normal. Lots of love to you all!
We love your channel. This format was fun to watch. My husband and I just love seeing the family together. Cooking is fun by itself but how much more enjoyable when we cook and enjoy good food and drinks together between generations. Love it!
I loved your video! I had actually watched your Grandmother's video making this a few weeks ago and now I have just watched you. You have a great talent. You have such an ease and pleasant demeanor in front of the camera.
You are the sweetest lovely peope. It is good to know that you are alright. We have wondered whereyou were. Thank you to the entire wonderful family for sharing with us so generously! As a child, and as an adult, I love the chocolate pudding skin.
My wife loves her hot chocolate and I'm pretty sure I'm going to blow her away with this recipe! Thank you guys so much for all that you do. You are enhancing my kitchen with every video. You also remind me of my Nona, a beautiful Sicilian woman just like you. I miss her dearly. I miss her cooking, which I never got any of the recipes to. But you are making so many of the things she used to make for me and all the other kids. Thank you so much! I do have a request. There was this very simple pasta dish she used to make for us all the time. I don't know its name. It was just macaroni and lentils. I believe it was possibly just lentil soup (or something like that) that she would then use as a sauce for the macaroni. Do you make that dish, or at least know of it by chance? Thanks again, and much love!
Both formats are wonderful ... I also like that your granddaughter is so involved ... that must warm your heart ... I love all of your recipes and make your Arancini often ... I also hope that every once in a while, you & your granddaughter will work together on transforming a few of your recipes to a Vegan option ...I have a family member with an allergy to red meat and dairy ... (*although he can have chicken , fowl, turkey & fish ) I'm sure your granddaughter would love to see a few of your recipes transformed . Thanks for all your great recipes! I look forward to them all . I hope you are back in your home soon !
You are such a doll! I was extremely close to my grandparents and it warms my heart to see how you cherish yours. I love the videos y'all create! Blessings! P.S. I love the skin! ❤😊
What a wonderful way to have your granddaughter in the video and all the memories that Signora Giovanna shares with her followers. I wish the very best in 2024 for all. Grazie ! Santina G
Francesca, thank you for such a lovely video. I appreciate all of your excellent videography and effort in helping your grandparent's channel be such a success. All of the recipes are fabulous! Thank you also for taking the time to repost this popular video, as well as preparing this in your own kitchen. This thick hot chocolate is delicious!
I am so sorry that your grandparents went through that! How distressing! I hope repairs and reconstruction is done quickly and uneventfully so that they can return to their lovely home and beautiful kitchen
I watched the original video when it first came out, but really enjoyed this follow-up video. As an American, it helps to get more detail than what was just in the original video. Thank you. I look forward to trying this luscious drink.
Merci beaucoup I drink this sort of hot chocolate in Spain and Portugal and I don't know that it was the same in Italy. I adore your video, thank you for your wonderful recipes.
I'm grateful you explained about the flood. I was concerned when I saw you cooking the egg, but presumably not in the "kitchen on the cliff". I look forward to your return home and more videos. I pray this damage at home hasn't been too stressful for all of you and I hope your beautiful plants which I always love seeing have survived. Love to all of you!
So sorry to hear about the flooding. Hope you are able to go home soon. I love this video. Love the generational collaboration. 😊The Q&A part was very helpful!
I am very sorry to hear of the flooding, but I enjoyed this version too! I made the Italian hot chocolate with cashew milk after I saw the original video, and I never had such a good hot chocolate before! You're right, it is very close to pudding!
Dear Giovanna, (& Family) I feel so blessed to have stumbled upon your youtube channel some months ago. You have such a nice calmly controlled way of presenting your Recipes, along with helpful hints. Those of us who enjoy cooking/baking, appreciate you! Francesca has learned well, & we enjoyed her little presentatoon this morning. So sorry you've encountered a disruption of flooding in your home. We trust there is a good Insurance Claim Adjuster, along with competent Trades People, taking care of the unwanted disruption of a nice home & household. May God Bless you all, & thank you for sharing your years of experience & knowledge with us. Warm Wishes, Carla & Joe. (QLD, Australia)
You are all so sweet. I was in Rome and Tourin but it was August! so I missed out on the hot chocolate. At least now I know how to make it. Thank you! And thank you for making it vegan!
I really enjoyed the video, I've never made hot chocolate this way but I'm going to have to give it a try and I like the idea of the recipe being flexible and I could add extra little things to it to change the flavor I'm going to experiment with that thanks for sharing the recipe
I always liked the pudding skin too! 😂 I made this recipe after watching your grandmother’s video awhile back; it’s so delicious. I’m American, but I don’t like American hot cocoa. I like a thick rich chocolate, so this was a good fit for me.
What a wonderful idea to use a little bit of Instant espresso powder! I will put that on the shopping list for the next time i do my groceries! Thank you for again enlightening us with more delicious, Italian recipes.
I could not love this more! It's zero (wind chill is much lower) in a frigid Indiana, so this wonderful recipe is being made today, thank you. Learning at the "elbow" of my German grandma as a child...and encouraged to cook by both parents is a treasure I'm blessed with. Will be ordering your book, Sicilian Feasts--it will be wonderful to delve into. *Miss seeing your videos but hope the repairs to your home shall be finished in good order. Every day is a gift! Bless you all. 💗
My great grandparents on my dad's side are from Italy and Ireland. Unfortunately, I was unable to meet them, and we do not have many recipes from Italy passed down. I am making it so that I have recipes from Italy to be able to pass down even though I have never been to there before. I want to keep my heritage alive. Thank you for helping me to make my ancestors proud.
Hello cousins! I'm so sorry to hear of your kitchen flooding. I look forward to the "grand reopening vid" when you can safely return! Stay well, hugs from all the cousins!
I am a “married into LaMarca”. My father in law’s family came from Sicily. He said his mother made pizza like yours. My hot chocolate didn’t thicken, but I tried to make a big batch since there six of us. I will have to try again. Thank you for cooking.
Hello, Giovanna! I’m so sorry about the flooding in your home! I hope you’re back soon. I enjoying seeing Francesca in this new format and I enjoy seeing you cook, too. I was so glad Howard and you came in at the end. I’m in Virginia and it’s freezing here! Seeing that hot chocolate warmed me up. Best wishes, Marlene 😊
14:11 Hello Francesca here from Italy! From what I hear here, I must say that you have a good pronunciation of the Italian language. I guess you speak our language very well. Even if you were born in America, you got to learn our beautiful language, the language of your roots. I migliori auguri e tanti saluti dall’Italia ! 🇮🇹👋😊 PS: I must also say that in addition to being a beautiful girl, you also have a beautiful Italian name. :)
This looks amazing and I can't wait to try it but it's now made me want to make homemade chocolate pudding. Can this be put in the refrigerator to harden and be eaten as pudding ?
I’m sorry about the flooding. 😢 I enjoy very much watching your videos! With the 3 of you is awesome! Nonna reminds me of my ancestors and it just feels like home to me. ❤
what a great idea! Pls continue to perform behind and in front of the camera with your nonna! It was great with the added ingridients - just more inspiration 🤩👍
Subscribed and I checked "All Videos".......I absolutely adore your videos and I LOVE the the rapport you have with your Grandaughter! And it's so lovely that you read all the comments to. And it's true: The Hot Chocolate in Italy 🇮🇹 IS, IS, very very different, and, I think, better! So I was already thinking about the quality of the ingredients. I prefer real, made at home, from beginning to end, REAL ingredients!
I prefer the traditional kind of hot chocolate we have here in America. It comes in little packets and you mix it with hot water. I am especially fond of the kind that contains mini marshmallows.
Giovanna che bello vederti! Per un attimo ho avuto paura che tu non facessi più video. Ti auguro tutto il meglio e spero che la tua casa venga riparata rapidamente. X sintonizzandosi da Londra, Regno Unito X Also want to add Compliments to your great Helper and granddaughter. Complimenti a tua nipote, è di grande aiuto.
It’s a little too hot here in Sydney at the moment for hot chocolate, however soon it will be autumn🍂. Would you please consider a video on Nonna’s gadgets. Thank you 🇦🇺🦘🐨

Thank you so much and welcome into our family! ❤️👍🏽❤️
I would watch any video you make! Whenever I see a new video pop up it brings me joy.
Thank you for this! So sorry for the distress this flood has caused! What a rotten time of year to be displaced! Ugh! Bless you all! 🙏🏻

I love your videos and this format is very nice too, thank you very much.
Great to see all of you. Happy New Year!
I recall the original recipe asked for far less cornstarch. I added more when I made it, because it wasn't thick enough. It's delish ❤

Francesca, you are talented and beautiful, just like your nonna! Lovely to see you in front of the camera.
I watched her video and made this. It was the best I had ever had. I will never go back❤
Charming video.
I have a totally non-related question. Giovanna where did you get your rolling pin? What kind do you recommend?
I am a “married into LaMarca”. My father in law’s family came from Sicily. He said his mother made pizza like yours. My hot chocolate didn’t thicken, but I tried to make a big batch since there six of us. I will have to try again. Thank you for cooking.
