    Thank you for another great video. This is by far the most informative and inspiring video so far. I have watched this video at least six or seven times to make sure I understood everything.

      Lol I just did the same thing. I kept rewatching. I thought it was just me. Now I'm looking for how to videos in his channel to see if he has any on 24v or 36v conversions on power wheels. I'm also looking at getting the cheapest charger to get started with this hobby. Hopefully he did some reviews on chargers like he said he would.

      12 ah is standard. U could do two in parallel to double the run time.

    Would you be able to post a video of taking the power wheels adapter in the original battery and adding it to the new 18v system? So I can plug the new 18v system into the PW directly? Is this an easy thing to do for a Novice?

    Do you have a video showing the actual charging procedure? I'm curious as to how the procedure works and how to know when the battery is fully charged. Thank you. Great informational video. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I'm looking forward to tuning up my kids power wheel because it's slow and boring for them.

      The charger has circuitry that reads the voltage and cuts current when it's fully charged. All RC or smart chargers are better than the stock chargers.

      Thank you for your quick reply. I'm browsing through your channel right now. You have some neat videos. I just saw your C7 video when you told your son to go to bed because mom was having a fit lol. Does the charger have a green light to tell me when it's charged? Does the charger need to be set at 2 volts while charging? I'm going to rewatch this video.

      I rewatched the video again lol. Now I feel like I understand more. Charge a 12 amp hour battery at 2.4 amps. Can you set the chargers to charge at 2.4? You mentioned two chargers you had were 3 amp chargers, can they be set at 2.4? I'm a newbie and I apologize if I'm asking dumb questions.

      Only adjustable on an RC type not automotive charger. Hope this answers your question

    Where can I get led lights and upgraded parts for these cars my son just got a Jeep but some of the light are not operational. I would like to make all the lights work? And how can I double battery life?

    • @CustomKidzCars
      @CustomKidzCars  6 років тому +2

      +Nicholas Cordero we like oznium.com for lites, there aren't really upgrade parts. Adding a second battery in parallel or a double size ah battery for longer run times

    I have a powerwheels battery, but want to charge it with a smart charger, If I have that EverStart 3A charger, but my powerwheels battery is 12v 9.5ah, will the 3a everstart damage the power wheels battery, since 20% of 9.5ah = 1.9ah?

    • @CustomKidzCars
      @CustomKidzCars  5 років тому

      It's not going to damage it immediately but will shorten it's lifespan. The other issue I have learned is that it will stop charging before it is 100% charged due to the charge rate. Lead acid is alot like grilling. Low and slow is the best practice. I would say use it and in a couple years u can upgrade to a universal 12ah pack.

    Is there a smart charger you recommend for 12v SLA batteries and RC batteries?

      Shawn Carleton interested in this as well. Just getting into power wheels for the kids. Bought a Barbie Jeep with dead battery. Bought a 12v12ah sla battery and trying to get it setup with factory wiring if possible. Also have a car battery charging system that I can set at 6v6amp or 12v12amp or 12v6am. Please advise on best setup without buying a 100 dollar charger

      $23 Schumacher charger from Walmart is all u need. 1.5 or 2 amp charge rate is ideal. U can go 3 amps but it heats up the cells a bit when charging.

    Hey.i have an orange top powerwheels battery charging with a smart charger. I have an ootiin of selecting the amount of millaamp hours. Which should i select? Right now its on 3200mah.

    • @CustomKidzCars
      @CustomKidzCars  6 років тому

      2000mah is what I would charge it at. Basic rules is 20% so take your 9.5 ah =1.9 amps

      If 20% of a 12 amp hour battery is 2.4 AH is the only downside to hooking it up to a 2AH charger is that it will charge slower because it's missing the .4? Sorry I'm a newbie.

      Thank you for replying. Your videos have helped me out immensely. I really liked the video of the boys racing. The race master was great and they were all well coordinated. The racers took off right when they saw the light every time. Great technique. I think the comments are disabled for that video. Nice driveway and garage!

    Can you use a car charger on a kids ride on 12v or 6v battery ?

    • @CustomKidzCars
      @CustomKidzCars  6 років тому +1

      Sure, as long as the amps is 20% of the batteries ah. It's explained in the video with the math equasion.

    Great video!!! I really appreciate the info you share. I bought two of the Gruber 12v's and a Shumacher 2/6a 6/12v batter charger. It's been working great on my son's converted 24v power wheel. I do have a question.... How can I use the Shumacher to charge both batteries at one time? Is it even possible? Thanks!

      +Rocket Pocket HD the only way that would be possible is switching the wiring from series to parallel. I only charge them one at a time before connecting in series and then use a scooter type 24 volt charger. I have heard of people using relays for this but have no information to share.

    • @CustomKidzCars
      @CustomKidzCars  6 років тому

      Rocket Pocket HD can't charge 24 volts with a 12 volt charger. U need a 24 volt scooter charger. Check out monsterscooterparts.com www.monsterscooterparts.com/trsc/rec-categories/chargers/xlrchargers/recreational-24v-2a-xlr-battery-charger-universal-power-group.html

    Hello do you recommend adding in a breaker? I have a mustang and a 50lb kid and a 30 with aftermarket sla batteries. I am finding tho my cheap float charger I got off Amazon is useless and I need to get one of those chargers. We have winter coming tho so the kids want to get use out of there ride before it freezes :)

    • @CustomKidzCars

      A 30 or 40 amp fuse/breaker is always recommended. Schumacher makes a great ride on toy charger. I will get you a link

      Juan Rodriguez nope, they do make dual voltage chargers that automatically detect what battery u have connected.

      Derek Fyffe 4 amp charge rate is a bit too fast and I wouldn't recommend that for battery longevity. 2.4 amps is ideal for a 12 ah pack

    Hi mate I am thinking to make a alternater for my kids ride so that’s keeps charging while driving . It’s 12 v and 7 amp.any ideas. Pls thanks in advance .

    • @CustomKidzCars
      @CustomKidzCars  6 років тому

      U could couple a small gas motor like a weed eater to the alternator. U can also use a regular brushed motor as a generator. No experience personally but have seen a few videos of the concept.
