I broke exactly the part where the audio cable goes and honestly your video helped me. I have the cloud alpha 2 and I really appreciate that you took the time to assemble your headphones from scratch. Thanks to you I can repair mine, greetings from Mexico
This is one of the best videos that I've found to restore my favorite HyperX Cloud II. Thank you ZephyrDavid. After about a month I've notices that the right side became slightly louder or you could think of the left side becoming softer. In any case, do you know what caused this? My solder connections were good and I did not apply heat as long as this video showed. I am an experienced technician and worked with soldering before but this baffles me. Update - issue appears to be my new laptop headset port and windows 10 update. Now the right and left channels are balanced.
Helped me a lot. Thanks. I didn't use steelwool but 96% alcohol. Worked perfectly for the side clamps and even removed the paint. Didn't remove the paint on earcup plastic but removed the dirt and stickyness. With a few coating of paint now it looks new. I am testing it now. I hope it will be long lasting. Thanks again.
Good job. Those wires must be sanded and tined so they will solder as fast as possible. The drivers do not like heat, keep the heating at a minimum to avoid damaging them or lowering their performance.
Nice video, they look like new! Question about the microfone chip, was it glued down? -> You can improve the video by doing some before/after shots, to really show the difference. I know how mine looks and oh boy...
Hey,i accidently trow the inner part of headband, the steel one at 16:49 . Where can i buy that thing only. After i receive all item that i order then i realize that part was missing. Please help me

Hi David! I wanted to ask you if you had any problems with the mic. I have my cloud 2 from 2018 (more or less) and the mic is "loose", it makes a crackling noise that is very loud when im speaking sometimes (due to movement), do you know if there's any way of fixing that issue? i dont want to take appart the headset unless you recommend me to do so. Thanks for your time
I'm trying to fix my hyper x cloud 2 headset because my rat chewed the cable. Now I've disassembled it and cut the wire and was preparing it to solder back together leaving the colored ends attached to the circuit boards so I could see where to place which wire.. There are 3 in the speaker, striped blue and green, however the microphone also has 2 and i only noticed this now. It has a gold/copper one and a white one.. The USB cable ends in only 4 colors, none of which are white. How do I know where to attach the white wire??
Of course. This is why I done a paint job on this. I stripped down that garbage rubberised finish. After that, I do a paint job off camera. btw. It is likely that the dampness ruined it.
Hi bro, I wanted to ask you about a problem I have, it happens that my headphones make a strange noise from the microphone, even so when I don't have the microphone inserted, do you know how I could solve it? Headset: HyperX Cloud Core
Jesus I love hyperx's stuff but this rubber and fake leather is just god awful. Its *literally* disintegrating, what the fuck? All they had to do was use fabric/ genuine leather, and save the money on the rubber coating on the plastics......

Where do you bought the cables? Mine i just destroyed, and how did you get the mic board out of the headset cup ?
Do you think leaving the covers off and making them open back would ruin the sound?
The headset not designed for that! I don't really think this would be working well.

Holy shit tysmmmm
What screwdriver do you use to re assemble the ear cups to the aluminium
PZ00, I think
It was a Philips 1 for me
Mine came off cause I rafed
i forgot to ask, does doing this degrade the sound quality?
Basically I did just disassembly and reassembly the headset.
It doesn't degrade sound quality. He put the headset back together just like it came from the factory.

You don't really need to paint the plastic pieces, just rub off their coating with some alcohol.
You are right. But the paint gives a better finish for me!
@@ZephyrDavid Understandable :) Did you sand them down or something before painting, or just straight on the sticky surface?

Do you know if there is any way to replace the headband without doing any soldering?
There is no way to change the headband without soldering. The cable runs through inside the headband.
