thanks for sharing your knowledge and talent as well as experience with some of this newer technology.
When it's explained and shown, especially thru what is obviously a master of his instrument, inspiration to become better is the reward. Thanks!

These are very kind words Brother Ken and I am grateful. So much to "Enjoy, Learn & Share" amongst us pickers & those who just "listen" to music...and I am surely enjoying the blessing of the Journey;)
My prayers to you, your family and friends...Sincerely I am...Dan;)

That is an amazing setup Brother Dan. I would probably burn the house down with something like that. I’d like to know what affect the weather in the keys has on your equipment. The weather here in North Alabama is horrible on equipment. Thanks for the video and may God continue to bless you.

My Brother...you'd have this "down" in just a matter of a short time...as music being created from a "Musical Mind" (as opposed to a trained/technically-led source) would begin "making Musical sense" of "what" you are "musically looking for and creating";)
But...do have the "North Alabama Fire Extinguisher" (a.k.a. water hose) handy...don't want those "Hot Licks" gettin' out of control;)
My prayers to you, your family and friends...Sincerely I am...Dan;)

I have a late 60’s Fender Tremolux that really does it for me. I love old Silverfaces, old Bassmans, old Marshalls, etc…The crazy thing these days is how easy we can take a laptop with us to a show and, with the right app, can play through any amp we choose. Is it exact? No, not quite, but it is real close, and I am amazed at how simple we can pick and choose any amp we want, at any time, and simply run it through a Bluetooth PA…It takes effort to keep up with technology, but it keeps us sharp and it is really quite simple. There are apps out there that have any and every amp you could ever want downloaded into their database…But again, it is not quite the same as the real deal in person. We are getting close, though…I lie the old amps. Not all were great…Remember the old Gorilla amps? That was my first amp and I will never claim that it was great, or even good..BUT, believe it or not, there is a collectors market for old Gorillas…LOL…They do not command premium prices or anything, but the nostalgic folks want them…I do understand, though I can live without ever owning another one. LOL
Blessings to you, Dan. I’m actually picking up quite a bit with your sit down talks. Please, never stop. Thanks so much, man.
    Your friend,
    Matt

Brother Matt...thank you for this comment and information as I sincerely enjoy to hear from my fellow guitar pickers as the "Insight Shared thru Experience" in so valuable to us all..
There is no doubt that the "technology" of today is "taking us back to yesterday" to a degree...but I believe the "best ears" to truly "know" those "classic sounds" we are in search of are on the heads of those who played thru those amps...that weren't "vintage" yet (like your Gorilla) because they were relatively "new" themselves...at the time.
I believe the "Best Combination" of dialing in "Today's Tech" that is search of the "Old Sounds" will be from someone like yourself...who has a "true sonic understanding"...thru experience...of "what" that "sound" actually "sounds" like.
This is the "main reason" I am truly excited regarding "what" I am hearing...as finally...I have a combination that "favors" what I remember & what I want "sonically"...from "Today's Tech".
My prayers to you, your family and friends...and let's keep pickin'...thru old Gorilla amps or new Boss-IR's;)
      Sincerely I am...Dan;)

Hey Dan, great playing, great sound as usual! A quick question...why do you have the Iron Horse a 1/2 step tuned down? I noticed on your last vid with the PRS it's standard tuning so just wondered why thi is? Thanks for posting. Ricky

Brother Ricky...thank you for the kind words and for the question.
The "short" answer is...I forget to tune it down a half step when I put the new strings on it;).
      But here is more insight:
I usually tune down a 1/2 step or whole step (as I have done for 20 years or so) for "Live" applications as singing those "high notes" at the end of a 4 hour evening can be challenging...and tuning down helps the singing.
Additionally...in the past...I used a "custom guage set" of strings from .13 to .56 with an "unwound" 3rd. I used that set for 10 or so years...and typically tuned down a whole step but did a lot of "session" work with those electrics tuned "to pitch"...A 440.
I used this "heavy set" on the electrics to help me "feel" the strings better as I was doing more "acoustic" than "electric" work...but a bunch of both in the 1990's up thru the mid 2000's...and couldn't "feel" the smaller "normal size" strings on the electrics when I would pick them up to perform.
During this time...I started tuning down a whole step...and then back up a whole step...with a stop at the 1/2 step down tuning many times.
I noticed...from a "musical standpoint"...that I enjoyed the "sound" better from the "acoustic" instruments I would perform on recordings when these "1/2 step" keys were in play.
The 1/2 step "down" is my "typical Live" tuning for my personal performances and full band shows when it is a "Coconut Cowboys" band show. For others I perform for...wherever they are...that's "what" I will be too;)
Thank you again...and my prayers to you, your family and friends...
      Sincerely I am...Dan;)
