- Malcom Marx had himself a day against the All Blacks in The Rugby Championship. He was just everywhere and delivered some big hits as well as creating a ton of turnovers. Malcolm definitely deserved to be man of the match after that performance. He just seems to always be in the right spot to steal balls at the breakdown. The thing that makes it even more impressive is the fact that the opponents knows that he's going to be a threat, but still can't stop him.
It's easy to see why he's such a fan favorite for South African fans, he just plays the game the right way and it's always fun to see him play, whether he starts or comes on from the bench. Malcolm Marx is going to play an important part if the World Cup champs want to defend their trophy next year.

The Bok coach has mentioned in press conferences that they specially like to let the players start the game when they hit a milestone number of caps. Bongi started for his 50th cap when they played Wales in CT and Malcom started for his 50th cap when they played the ABs yesterday
I'd rather have him on the bench, imagine being 20-10 down in the second half I'd rather bring Marx on and know he can win 2 or more penalties then bring Bongi on.

Im surprised you included the turnover at 38 seconds seeing as it shows multiple infringements from SA. The first is the SA number 13 taking out the NZ number 1 without the ball preventing I’m from joining the ruck. The second being the no release tackle from Du Toit. The slow mo replay also shows his hands all over the ball. Should be penalty All Blacks. If it takes two of your players to infringe on order to make a turnover then you will be found out eventually.

@@pigslefats Rubbish. Politics has nothing to do with it, combinations do. Marx (and the rest of the bomb squad) are entrusted to come onto the field when the starters are completely spent and finish off the game, solidifying defence, bolstering attack, etc and just completely shutting it down. Marx is not the only white guy on the bench and some of the others are in fact better than the *white* player they are set to replace, but are used as bomb squad members exactly for that reason.
Leave the politics to the ANC boet; we are here to watch, talk and enjoy rugby.

at the .38 -.39 sec mark is PSDT firmly not releasing Ta'avao on the ground in order for Marx to come turnover the ball you can clearly see PSDTs hand on the ball when Marx initiates the turnover. Is it illegal to not release the tackled player on the ground or not? Not moaning the ABs were soundly beat I'm just pointing something out to clarify a rule for me. I'm pretty sure you have to release the tackled player on the ground though
Yes, PSDT was in the wrong, but he took the gamble. I guess you can call it the dark arts or whatever. Although, I think even if PSDT didn't do it, Marx was there instantly anyway...

The bomb squad is not supposed to be "our second choice", they are supposed to be the players entrusted to go onto the field and completely shut down the opposition. The combination of Bongi softening them up and Malcolm delivering the final blow is considered a more effective option than the other way around and that has been proven right so many times. Don't insult them just because you are too racist to understand how any of this works....
