    His workrate even when his contributions go mostly unnoticed are amazing. That is a sign of a truly humble player

    His upper strength is phenomenal. Great humble guy as well as a humanitarian. Should be National Captain. Would be the perfect role model for kids in Oz. The best at turning the ball.

    His turn over capacity alone, aside from his defensive and ball carrying capabilities, makes him and unavoidable threat to any opposition. Mad respect respect for one of the best breakdown players ever from Scotland x

    For those that don't know, David Pocock is now a decent and gutsy independant politician in the Australian Senate. He just keeps on giving for his country and his fellow Australians. Thanks David.

    Mandatory viewing for all aspiring back row players, especially opensides. In fact I think any player, regardless of position, should study Pocock's breakdown technique. If you can get your centres and wings attacking rucks like this as well, why not!

  • @tombarnes1251
    @tombarnes1251 2 роки тому

    monstrously strong - weighed 115kg at 6'0 and benched 185kg towards the end of his career. That's as much as some front rowers, with next to no body fat. What a player and bloke.

    Awesome player and punches way above his size

    • @supersquats
      @supersquats 5 років тому

      Yeah in the rugby programme he’s maybe listed at 115kgs and 6-2 in reality he’s 104kgs and 6-0

    • @supersquats
      @supersquats 5 років тому

      If he’s 115kgs then guys like Danie Rossouw, Schalk Burger, Duane Vermuelen would be in the 130kg region, they are all noticeably bigger than Pocock. Rugby programs lie about players stats, years ago Martin Johnson and Richard Cockerill were on tv and Cockerill admitted he was 5-6/7 but in the rugby program 6-0 and 10kgs heavier than he was

    • @supersquats
      @supersquats 5 років тому

      Oh yeah not denying he’s a big dude. Yeah vermuellen probably is in that region as are a few of the other bok forwards. I once met 3 of the Scottish rugby players outside murrayfield stadium years ago all 3 of them were listed a lot bigger than they actually were, Tom Smith, Gregor Townsend and another I forget who now.

      @ludwigsolomona9607 6 років тому

      I agree, he is underperforming due to injury but shouldn't be a burden by pushing through. It would be best for the team if he fully recovered first.

    • @miguelangel3254
      @miguelangel3254 6 років тому

      hooper doesn't play openside, he hasn't in quite a while, he may have the nr 7 on his back but he doesn't contest the breakdown hard anymore and focuses on going forward.

  • @ruairimurray6796
    @ruairimurray6796 5 років тому

    at 0:26 the ref says "no tackle". Pocock proceeds to complete the tackle, not show any clear release, then get on the ball. Should have been a penalty against him. Odd clip to use seeing as there are plenty more better and legal turnovers completed by him

    • @vonteflon
      @vonteflon 5 років тому +1

      I think you're mistaken here. "No tackle" is information to the ball-carrier, that the initial tackle on him was not completed so he can play on if he wants to and is able to. It doesn't mean "don't tackle".
