I a, not a huge Metallica fan, but my 11 year old son is and so I went all the way and invested on two snake pit tickets and flew from London. OMG he will never ever forget it, the buzz hasn't left us yet. He got guitar pics handed out to him from both Kirk and James, on both nights. He got a drum stick from Lars, and Robert fist bumped him more than once. At one moment James played right in front of his face (like in this vid) and he also strummed Kirk's guitar. Massive, massive, ginormous amount of gratitude for how kind and respectful you are to your fans mister.
You're so lucky to have experienced this. I've been listening to them my whole life and I've never seen them live. If I don't get a chance before they retire I'm gonna kick myself in the face.

Man, I saw them front row in Australia for World Magnetic tour and got high 5s from all except Kirk when they walked out and Lars handed me his drink before he went on stage. But this, as a guitar player, Im so jealous of haha. You guys are so lucky! James is a legend

I met him 2 times here in Athens Greece At 1999 we were small kids 15 years old jammimg with Metal Bands...James signed to our guitars..that was our motivation to become better .. In 2007 we met him again , but this time we were proffecional musicians working with the best singers in Greece... They told as to have an appointment with the band , and we spoke with their tour manager and he told as to wait at the lobby and he informed the band that some "important" guitarists from this country are waiting , but we didnt want to be annoying.. So we just waited outside their hotel , exactly like when we were small kids James was with his family but we stay all together for 5 min , he signed again THE SAME guitars he had signed 8 years ago...we told him that he was our insipation to become good guitarists.. He told us to sit with him and his family for a coffee but i thought that this would be very annoying for his family so we just told him thank you for your time and we saidgoodbye! Really very nice guy... We hope he would come again in Greece so he could signed the same guitars again...Gibson Les Paul , Ibanez Paul Gilbert , PRS Custom 24.
