- Hose used amzn.to/2UgTN93 for C1500
Cheaper hose amzn.to/3g2efCt for C1500
Fluid amzn.to/3g0sXcW
All you need is a 16mm and 18mm tubing and regular wrench.
"it will probably rain because I'm doing some!" ain't that the truth, haha
It might Always something extra. Really depends where you are.., Here its always bad. Sometimes you get a break its a real surprise
Thank you for this. Super simple and dumb-down DIY. Super helpful 👌
I missed the original 1994 hose it looked nice, It was always a mystery of "when is it going to leak" I was sad when it did
Thanks for shearing, I have looked different ways of typing 💬 it in on replacing the return line fittings on a 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 4.8 4x4 this is the only one that came up so thanks again, if there a video to the repair please let me know, give you 5 thumbs up and a ❤
I had a bunch of hose videos on 99-06 GM trucks I changed the PS hose on it 4x and its leaking again so Ill be changing it again soon. I have videos of it but UA-cam is VERY BROKEN. Its the same process just a nut on the pump and the steering box side. You have to attack it from the bottom through atleast on the pump its cramped you need to be able to turn the wheels so get both wheels off the ground nice and high on jack stands.
@@GhettoWagon I will check them out for sure thanks 🙏
@@GhettoWagon I just found a leak on driver side. The leak was coming off of the inner bumper on the left side , fluid was a watering red orange. Is this power steering or coolant? I have a 94 c1500 also
Great vid mine just went out this morning 8:00 am hole right at the bend OG hose too from 91 and it’s nov 17 2022 😅
Yea. The edelman elite hose is nice but it seems its rusting a little on the tube again. I should of clear coated the metal like i have done with other PS hoses i changed
@@GhettoWagon nice man I called my local Napa but none here in the LA area, have to order from phoenix Arizona ,
I live in PA and have a 94 also. Rusting bad in the last few years!
Mine still ok. Just the paint is peeling really bad allover and causing it to rust Needs a paint job Need to start collecting materials These Frikken HD eldleman hoses the steel tubes rust on them its rust orange at the moment I need to complain to them its LIFE TIME warranty
Thank you!!!
Do you know what size the nut is, that is on the rear of the pump, that the 16mm screws into? Probably a bushing. Anyway, need to wrench it, because it's spinning. 16mm seized. Thanks in advance. Great video.
thats the valve in the power steering pump Might be a 18., 19 not sure use the wrench that fits, Worst case you need to remove the pump Its not bad
@Ghetto Wagon Thanks for the quick reply. Long Island huh?? Ol' Long Island boy here. Nassau and Suffolk..
@@jamesjohnson6364 Ya this vehicle used to be around there up and down the LIE lots. Queens/ NYC and back. I dont live there anymore place went to hell. So much $ now. More regulations. Cant do it. Maybe if i move back up North ill try a few select states in New England. This Truck was bought in Huntington then sold used in ST james private party many years ago
So I don’t need to pull the pulley and pump to put the new hose on 🤔
Just reach behind it ?
Yes
👍
Yeah I'm here because of an attempt gone nightmare. All started with a simple cute O ring failure
the old classic O rings held up better than the new ones that distort in 5 years
@@GhettoWagon good to know lol
Why can't I find a set of both lines for cheap, wtf?
Whats that hose called he replaced ??
Power steering as the title says
So for the tubing what regular size is the wrench for both to remove and replace?
Think I used a 16
when i did it mines woudnt thread to the back of the pump...thats where the leak is.....how do i get the best angle to thread with outt taking off everything else???
The hose/ tube is probably off you may need to hand bend it a little. Some manufactures make garbage bent stuff even this was a little off
Also, do the pump side first so you can totally control the angle. If you have the other side in and it's putting pressure on it at all from the hose acting as a spring, it'll be hard to get straight.
@@scotth2469 it does not matter i just leave both loose and thread them in then adjust how the line sits at the pump so it does not smash into the PS res. then adjust it on the box so its not rubbing. But all these new lines are not bent correctly they all need adjustment
@@GhettoWagon ok
@@scotth2469 ok
Is this conventional or hydroboost?
Conventional.
I have a 92 with the 4.3 my return line looks nothing like this one. The hard line on the steering box side is super long and goes into the front fork of my frame makes a u-turn and comes back. Wtf theres no matching replacment ne where
Not sure You can always just bring the metal to a hose store and have them replace the rubber part
@GhettoWagon did more research and I basically gotta make my own.
Cant find a high pressure hose or low, wtf, just dont get it!😮
they should be like 20 for the pressure for one and 12 for the return
Im having trouble threading it back into the steering rack. Any tips?
make sure its straight Both ends are loose.. Maybe put a small bend in the line if its not matching up. Just Wiggle the line around then hand thread it
your links for hose do not fit
Fits a C1500
suckin
thats u
@@GhettoWagon sometimes
