Your car buying story made me a bit emotional. So many times we can shift our needs/expectations to make other people more comfortable. We as women, especially women of color, can be so passive because we feel intimidated or uncomfortable OR we think we should be lucky to even have the opportunity to have certain opportunities. Now that’s a word!! Also, when you said gv70 I automatically knew what car you were talking about because that is also my dream car. I am so happy for you! And I hope you are proud of yourself.

Wow, thank you for explaining this entire process about your car to us! I am 29 and thinking of buying a car in 2024 and I have slowly begun researching how to actually get one. I don’t have my dad in my life, or an uncle or anyone to ask, but my sisters don’t have this level of knowledge either so I’m kind of on my own. If you were ever comfortable, I would definitely be interested in hearing more about how much you put down, and how to calculate your desired monthly payments and get the loan (from the bank or dealership?) for those who are currently clueless, like me!
Do not get loan from the dealership ! Get approved through your own bank especially if it’s a credit union that way that knocks out the time they spend trying to negotiate. Do your research on what kid of car you want before going to a dealership to look for a car and don’t lease! They will always say they need to run your credit let them know they do not being you’re already ore approved through your bank and be prepared to call their bluff and walk even though you want the car.

I just went through this with the same car company. I wanted it but refused to be scammed. Almost walked away the day it came in, on a truck I reserved... but they made it work (removed all their bs fees) and I'm in love. 🥰 So happy you stood your ground.

listening to your car buying story was literally me 5 months ago when i brought my first brand new car it was months of me being patient i didnt want to rush into it and i got discourage at one point i just pray on it and God came through i was very specfic with the type of model car as well and it was hard to find like yours they were selling fast we were in the same shoes im happy to hear ended up getting what you wanted its such a blessing ! enjoy your beautiful car i sure been loving mines!

The car portion of the video was interesting for me. I started working at 17 during my senior year of high school and was literally excited that I would be able to file taxes the next year, which I did on my own. I've also purchased all my cars and homes on my own after doing considerable research that took at least a year to ensure I knew everything. I remember the first time I purchased a brand new car and told them what the monthly I needed to be for how many years with zero down payment. I literally told them the car was a want and not a need and got up and walked out after going back and forth for far too long. Dude ran after me, and I got my ask. However, since high school, money and finance (ie....stock market) have been my thing and that is not the case for a great deal of people (women or men).
This is such a good video for women who are hesitant or scared about making a big financial purchase to see it is possible to get what you want. You just have to do the research, be patient, stand your ground, and don't let the salesperson bully you. Because you should never buy something you aren't happy with (the item or the price).
Hyundai has yet to let me down and I still remember test driving the Genesis coupe. Dreamy!! Congrats!! 🥂

When I tell you the Genesis GV 70 & GV 80 is hard to get your hands on 😩 I’ve been wanting one for some time now. I rarely see them on the road but when I do 🥰🤩 I see them more in the K Dramas since it’s a SK make. But I love the fact that it’s not a common car, it’s nice to stand out a bit. Also, an advice for others when buying a car is look into financing your car with your bank rather than dealership bc they oftentimes have better APR rates.

I’m in my mid 40s and purchased 7 cars since my 20s in college. I always been great with negotiating for my husband, family and friends of cars because I researched and learned over the years. Keep in mind it’s much easier to negotiate with a Kia, Hyundai, Genesis and slightly Toyota. It’s harder to negotiate with Honda, Acura, BMW, Porsche and Mercedes. They are those companies that being in the game for years and stand by their brand. When you’re purchasing a newer brand like Genesis you have better chance with negotiations because the brand itself wants their car to dominate the road. They are all about we got this amount on the road as they are placing their quality with the numbers sold. Forgot to add Audi as bit difficult. I had all brand new cars starting Accord in early 2000 then 3 Acuras, 2017 Audi A5 hatchback, and last MB E450 Coupe’. Earlier this month just purchased 2024 BMW Hybrid X6M. The best way to negotiate is walking in with funds outside dealership lenders. I tell people this so much. When you tell them you’re were approved for with said credit union and wiring money pending you will get the best negotiations. Credit unions are the best and also keep in mind you can refinance with the credit union as well but be ready to research the value so you k ow your numbers. I never been in a dealership more than 2 hours buying a car because I always get approved with one of two my credit unions. Along with that I always get extra accessories on my vehicle for free. Never walked out a dealership without all weather mats including trunk mat. NEVER! In those negotiations I never walked out with an extended warranty and maintenance pkg. Always negotiate everything. BMW 😂Ben gave me 3 extra free years of maps update and free wifi for 3 years.
Check in middle console most vehicles have fast charge outside wireless in middle console or front where your cell is charging. If you have a mat charge where it lays flat will give you a faster charge.
The Genesis is the best looking girl on the street!!! As soon as my lease ends for my Acura I’m 100% getting the GV90. Such a classy boss biiiii car! Congrats girl!
Girl! I was like “yes!” when you said how most of the time the sales people are there ready to help you to the point where you can’t even just walk without feeling pressured 😂🙈. So yeah, it was good to hold off and wait for the next dealership. 🤗
