I appreciate GHib because he is humble and genuine in his videos. And many places he has shown were places I have never been to as a Singaporean myself. Some videos also remind me with places I have long forgotten. He is our Singapore be treasure. I hope the best for him and his family here. Also he has a v cool mother in law, she is so funny.
Same here When i see his videos reminds me of my childhood too Can be nice once in while to explore i say Even as a Singaporean myself can be lazy to go out too But Singapore is interesting to know about too Time to explore more lmao
I don't think Ghib will see this comment, but I started watching his videos right when MCO started in 2020. I kinda watched him transition from doing small Japanese skits about JA / SG work cultures to doing lockdown activities to biking around the country to the Yishun "controversy" and getting his first sponsors, revealing that he's married, getting a house, saying goodbye to James, meeting Jimmy, wow omg the list can go on. I started rewatching his old videos because now SG is open on the VTL and I'm planning to go soon, so I wanted to write down some of his recommendations. I really like how not only has his video creation styles and food descriptions improved so drastically (people used to say he only said "delicious" and "juicy""), but also how he still keeps his down-to-earth personality and thinks about how he can contribute to the society (and Singapore Tourism Board, haha) with his videos. Ghib, thank you for always being there and showing us not only Singapore but how real life is like in Singapore. Thank you for always being human and not get devoured by the social media sponsorship / views craze. I will always support you!
WOW WOW to " thereisnoaddress " I'm sure you made his day when he gets to read this from you ! Pleasantly surprised you mentioned my name as well - thank you. Do look at my comment to Mothership SG when you have the time.
Ghib Ojisan and Lost Ojisan are the channels I watch regularly. It's fun to catch his live streams when you get the chance and also his videos are good quality, educational and very enjoyable to watch. Keep up the good work Ghib! Thank you Mothership for this interview. Chill and easy to digest.
Wow.. Nice! This video revealed how Ghib is actually quite deep. A person with values and morals about his content as well. Not surprising though. So happy to have him join the Singapore family. Yes Ghib, I feel happy watching your videos. 😊
Olivia did awesome as always. Ghib essentially tries to balance ‘passion’ with ‘money’. In terms of what is value to viewers vs viewer counts. That’s similar to what the corporate world is! And I like how kind he is to always walk slightly behind Olivia, and only lead the way slightly in front when walking to the zhichar shop as he knows where it is - truly Japanese manners.
In the country of the rising sun 🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵 Japanese people of all genders are well raised and polite and courteous too. That’s their awesome 👏🏽 culture for years to come. Unlike 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Dear MothershipSG, Congratulations for producing this video !. I trust many of your viewers will now get to know Ghib Ojisan more intimately and how much he has contributed to Singapore and Japan friendship in just 3 years - thanks to his Singaporean wife ! GHIB has just turned 32 - was 31 when I first met him a year ago at 67 Killiney Kopitiam. The Japanese Embassy here should be proud of his weekly videos centered on Singapore. To our surprise a big fan of his has complied a list of 40 videos that I was captured in with Ghib Ojisan over a one year period covering various parts of Singapore - including 5 in Yishun where I lived. SINGAPORE should appoint him as our REPRESENTATIVE ( AMBASSADOR ) to bring in the next 1 million tourists in the next couple of years ! He will soon be in Japan and will certainly be " Selling Singapore " with his wife.
I like to watch Ojisan's videos. He has a very unassuming, humble and easy going personality, watching his videos, is like having a friend talking to you.
As a UA-camr living in Japan and talking about Singapore often, I often watched Ghib Ojisan's videos. I find myself very similar to him, but also opposite in certain way. I am happy that he honestly shared he cares about the views, which I can totally understand. Luckily, my wife always reminds me not to care that much and focus on the content that is meaningful to the society. I think that's the most important thing as a UA-camr, in my opinion.
Go live in the country of Japan 🇯🇵 you will be amazed ok 👍 don’t be a turtle 🐢 hiding in your shell 🐚 whenever there’s danger ⛔️ detected. 😅🤣😂🤣😅🤣😅🤣😅🤣😅🤣😂🤣😅🤣😅🤣😅😂😅🤣😅😂😂😂😂😂😅🤣😅🤣😅🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂
I love this guy .. Such a sweet and humble guy with a nice sense of humour .. Got to know him from watching an episode of Mediacorp's "Tuesday Report" about foreigners living in Singapore..
agree with you ghib...I am a singaporean living abroad..but often visiting Singapore.. and yes..it's not boring..Singapore. I am very happy to watch your videos..you make me proud of being Singaporean..I want to thank you..for that..you make me feel so appreciative of things Japanese and Japan. what a great Ambassador you make🙂
What he says is true. If you don't explore, you're the one who's boring. If you're always hanging out around your neighbourhood and workplace, of course it's boring.
I AM LIVING OVERSEAS, FOR ALMOST 45 YEARS, SINGAPOREANS ARE VERY LUCKY LIVING IN SINGAPORE SAFETY NO GUN VIOLENCE , CONVENIENT TO GET AROUND CLEAN CITY, HAPPY CITIZENS , WHERE I LIVE OVERSEAS GUNS VIOLENCE, HOMELESS CRAZY PEOPLE. YOU NAME IT .” YES SINGAPORE 🇸🇬 “
I am quite amazed as how he thinks and explore everyday Singapore and treats it as an adventure every single time even its like in the same area. I can totally relate coz I cant find anyone else (other than my bff sis) to explore interesting food hunts in our heartlands. I have been exploring ever since I was a teenager (20 years plus of doing it now) and my passion for walking and venturing into new and familiar eating spots is still strong and boring us definitely not the word. I never thought Ghib would share that same passion and I finally feel happy that I found a youtuber that I can relate locally. Good job Ghib-san. 👍😁
Thank you so much! @MothershipSG 【Great Interview! Splendid Work】 This video with @Ghib Ojisan really fun and enjoyable to watch *Also... ...* I love how the questions were asked~

I watch Ghib Ojisan videos all the time and i really find those videos of his interesting... Places I won't visit he did, taking public transport, eating local food, interacting with his mil and one thing I'm amazed that this guy loves chili padi so much that he eats it with everything... LIKE LEGIT EVERYTHING and this is one thing I know abt him. HE LOVES CHILI PADI!!!! lol
I like the term constructive criticism.. and responsibility that grew from seemingly strict Laws in singapore..No..I don't think you deliberately say nice things about Singapore..because what u said about Singapore resonates with me too..my opinion of course!
ジブリさんのビデオで日本人だけでなく、世界中の人たちの視野を広げられるでしょ。ジブリさん頑張ってください! Through Ghib-san's videos, the world can broaden their horizons, not just Japanese people. Keep going!
Started subscribe to ojisan before he got famous for that yishun video. Tks to UA-cam algorithm recommended me watch his vlog toa payoh (my former hometown).
Food for thought: if ghib instead of being japanese was indian or filipino or something else, would he still have the same level of warm reception from singaporeans? We still have a long way to go as a society
Sg is not boring, just take some time to explore free places ! Other attractions will definitely need to cough out cash. He is somewhat conflicted on how to improve his view counts in YT.

As a singaporean i can related
I want to try going out more often
Explore singapore than staying here
This pandamic has made singaporeans like my dad scared it too much that he like typical Asian family mindset
Too me i am proud of the country i am proud of off
People here say that sometimes too
I have to admit that Singapore is not like countries like japan
The moment you go out its too mordern and everyday you go out
Its the same
But i found out throigh gib ogisan
Singapore has a lot of different places even myself was so afraid too go to
But i find that cause most of us singaporeans are very not into huge disposable income
Which i try to control sometimes
But this is very much good about
As Some people are like that here
Me Anything can be learnt if people is interested here
We need break away from that mindset and try all kinds new things too
I feel we Singaporeans need too learn mote that singapore may not be like countries that has huge landscapes or mountains to explore
But we here have very diverse types of people
Racial harmony is build into our system and no one here has the right to say we one race or culture is with strong superority as law states all cultures are considered respected from day one as it is build into our school systems to teach that respecting all things here is nice thing too
There is many chinese sayings here that can apply
Such as "learn until old age" and " learning never stops for us all" helps me to understand we need to change about that in older generations here
To help others Singapore is not boring, its just a matter of perspective.
My mother told me from the beginning us Singaporeans are exceptional that i and her live in a country that multiracial society is a thing here
So once again is all comes down to perspective of people on life that needs to change i say so.e of us Singaporeans need to do to explore more of Singapore special places of intrest

SG is not boring if one appreciates the little flavours of life. It not an issue with the place, it's the mindset
Lol so many entertainment being compromised smlj
Good video Ohyaji. Very accurate and frank assessment. Shows why SG is nice from far but far from nice.
nice music in the background :)
@ghibojisan you did it bro. You are awesome
We are mature.
Constructive criticism is good .
We should be mature enough to face our short coming , then we improve on it.
That is history 👍👍👍click bait is good for video if you manage to deliver and then it's not really click bait

Any news about your PR application?
Hi Dr David Foo - do take a look at my comment to MOTHERSHIPSG I sent minutes ago ( when you find the time ).
I hope Singapore Immigration will grant him PR at once !!
it's not that Singaporeans don't explore because they are lazy or simply like to complain. But the usually hot and humid weather kills any motivation to move around.
Moreover, you can already expect what you will see from the pictures. It's really boring most of the time. :) The thought of squeezing with the crowd is just..... oh forget it.
When overseas, with nice cool weather, hopefully less crowded, you feel more relaxed. You want to explore more. If it's nature you are considering, they are prettier than what we can see in Singapore.
By the way, who is this female interviewer? Her facial expressions look weird most of the time. Not sure if she looks uninterested, bored or....??? :) No eye contact with Ghib too.
Why must we learn from him? I've explored all of Singapore and still find it boring.
If you are not peaceful about yourself, no matter how you look or live, you will only find boring. It’s a state of mind.
Is this her first interview? Feels like she doesn’t know how to approach somebody.
I agree. Interviewer seems bored and disengaged.
She hates her job I think
Singapore is boring if you like to explore the vast nature with kinda limitless land boundaries otherwise it is a vibrant city state that offers plenty of job opportunities yet competitive plus SGD offers higher exchange rate if not highest in that region vs USD. In addition, the city state also offers a rather safer living environment due to constant surveillance activities and competent police forces. eg: crooks get caught in no time all the time.

After 11pm you can basically give up on exploring Singapore unless you got a minimum of 50 dollars to burn for the supper and midnight cab fares. That and still having the energy to do exploring after you finish your daily 8 to 12 hours job. There is nothing wholesome and new to explore in Singapore to be honest beside eating and shopping. If you want to destroy your life well you can explore the underbelly of Singapore if you insist by going to ktvs, casino and drug parties.
